My G9P mounts and the green is not much though! With the all black video in hdr the black is perfect!
I think both G9N/G9P are from Samsung.

Googled it few days ago and I read the below:
"The iPhone 12 series uses displays from two South Korean display makers – Samsung and LG Display. Although there are reports that the probability of a green screen on LG’s display screen is somewhat higher, there is no substantial proof to this claim. So far, iPhone 12 screens from both Samsung and LG seem to have this issue. The screen code displayed by Samsung is G9N/G9P, and the screen code of LG Display is GVC/GH. "

Read most of the thread. Might as well toss in that I have this problem. Noticed it watching movies at night at relatively low brightness. It's pitch black at max brightness though.

Yeap.

I know a few people with G9N with the same issues, so I don't think that the G9N are the good panels.
All assumptions based on serial numbers and production weeks do not make a lot sense to me so far. I have a FW43 G0ND 12PM that has the issue. Some may not have the issue while having the same FW43 G0ND phone.
However I just watched a video on YouTube in a pitch black room and could not see any issue on the sides. That was black with no flickers. I can see it when watch a plain black video though.

I totally agree.
It seems that the issue is not present with a total black HDR video. See the post above yours and if you would like do the test.

Can’t find it too directly on YouTube. And opening it from MacRumors does not seem to make it. Even at full brightness it is not black. I can see like weird shapes. This video is certainly not black and even less HDR. At least when opened from MacRumors site.

Same here the second video does not help. There is always a white dot on it that prevents from having a complete dark video. Why is that? At full brightness it is black. Below full brightness my screen is uneven, black around the white dot and greenish elsewhere.

Just found it :

Here are the results :
-Full brightness : black screen
-Brightness at 50% : black screen except on both sides (I am in landscape mode). It flashes green every half a second on each side. Both at the time or alternatively.
-Brightness below 50% : the whole screen is not black anymore but grey/green. Not flickering.

My iphone 12 pro instead: - 100% brightness in perfect blacks on both videos - brightness 50% perfect blacks on both videos - Brightness 30% perfect blacks on both videos - brightness 15% slightly dark green sometimes blinking on the whole display!

Yea I’m getting similar results. Wonder why the HDR doesn’t make the blacks do what the other videos do... anyone know of any possible reason?

Either way this def leads me to believe it’s software otherwise it would be able to be recreated in any black screen video.

Any word from apple if their going to fix the piss yellow grey colours in dark mode?

Big difference compared to other phones, here is a couple of photos note 20 ultra and iPhone 12 pro max.

Love everything about my 12 pro max, the screen is a big let down though. 🤦‍♂️😔

Mine with this hdr video. I don’t see any issues.
I do see issues with this video tho.

I don’t get what hdr does different.

Software is at fault for this, I think. I did this:

1. got black image from web, turned brightness all the way up, zoomed in, no flicker, complete darkness.

2. Set about 5 % brightness, same photo, flicker followed by steady grey hue (pixels were on)

3. Took screenshot of that step two using power and vol up.

4. Brightness all the way up again, compared the screenshot and the black image....the screenshot was grey. The black photo was still black.

There you go Apple engineers...fix it. Our phones are too expensive for this kind of BS.

similar behaviour on mine in a dark room at night on auto brightness (lowest setting).
The iPhone 12 pro max has a pink hue towards the bottom similar to those photos.

I suggest you all try with YouTube settings selector in landscape and the Grey image below to see if it occurs on yours. The pink/red hue may be on one side of your screen or the top or the bottom but seems like they all have it on low brightness... if you have a phone that doesn’t exhibit this behaviour please share pics.

How can I prove if mine does?
