Could be software, then on the other hand how come other people aren’t affected by it, hmmm 🤔😂 strange one. 🤔
I think it has to be hardware because my near-launch day 12 Pro Max and 12 mini glow in the dark. The 12 Pro Max glows like crazy. My new purple 12 mini doesn’t glow green or have raised blacks. They’re all on the most recent non beta iOS.

Fortunately in most of the conditions in which I view my displays, the displays are pleasing to the eye. Again, 12 mini is the best among them with nice sharp crisp text and a good white even with True Tone on. But the other two are still excellent. No cat pee yellow or ugly gradients.

I’m keeping the purple mini. The other two phones might go in trade, but definitely not during pre order time. Maybe I’ll upgrade this time next year. By then I’ll know what all the bugs are and if Apple has any remedies. Plus if they hold out a special color like they did with the purple, I’ll be able to trade for it. Or I’ll decide iphone 14 is the better trade. Whatever.

I'll give apple till august to fix it via a software update, then it's off to the apple store for a replacement 😃 Try to limit myself from going there, always walk out with something new 😳🤦‍♂️😔🥺 New MacBook Pro being announced at WWDC 🤦‍♂️🥺 Anyone after a 2020 M1 MacBook Pro 🤔😂

Lol be strong!

I really don’t know what my options for a remedy for this might be. In my case, because I have two other phones with no issues, it’s more of a “principle of the thing” to try and seek a remedy.

I'll try, but it's not easy 😂

If it helps, it did take apple till august to fix the same issue on the 11 series, maybe wait till august, if the problem is still there, contact apple for a replacement, should be pretty straight forward with apples great customer service.

It has to be software because when watching a video the bars are black no matter the brightness, but when watching a movie/ video the black is gray at every brightness level. Why would it be different?

Is the movie in hdr? I see it happens only with hdr/Dolby vision content. Try to turn on power save mode on and watch again. It disables hdr.

Still happening on 14.7 stuff this ****, I’m giving them till august to fix this crap or I’m getting a free replacement, I won’t be leaving the store until I know 100% the replacement device doesn’t have green **** 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Actually, they gonna fix it in September.. :)

What image? True blacks on OLED should never give a bloom. Doesn’t matter your brightness level.
Not true, my LG oled tv on vivid mode and iPhone 12 Pro max show blooming or a halo effect with text or logos on a black background on high brightness, all display technology does this at high brightness.

Since 14.7 public beta 2 didn’t get released, anyone install 14.7 beta 2? Can you please check if the green tint garbage is finally gone.

Are people still having the green tint issue with their 12 series?

Some are saying it’s fixed for them, some are saying it isn’t fixed, strange one. 🤦‍♂️

I’m still having the green tint issue on my device.

Apple hasn’t fully acknowledged they’ve fixed it.

Do we wait a little longer for a software fix?

Will apple have a recall program for this issue?

Or do we risk exchanging our phone for a replacement with the same issue. 🤔

It's likely a systemic issue with the displays. There was no guarantee that the displays would show pure black, so the green tint issue can't really be described as a defect, but more as a characteristic.

Don’t think this is the case, since apple is looking into it, what’s strange is that it seems to be fixed for some and not others.

Oh well, it took them till august to fix the same issue on the 11 series, hopefully we’ll have a fix or a recall program. Or hopefully apple will finally comes out and says what the bloody hell is really going on.

For the most part, I think it has been resolved with updates. I have seen maybe 2 people on the forum not long ago mention it.
Looks like it, don’t want to risk going to apple and getting a replacement with the same issue.

One person got his screen replaced, all looked fine for a few days, then it came back.

Still a lot people out there with green tint even after 14.5.1.🤔🤔🤔

My 12PM had raised blacks and greenish greys at low brightness. Raised blacks are nearly fixed, however greenish greys persisted.

My spouse’s 12 had only raised blacks and that’s fixed

Looks like the wait continues. 😩

Green tint is still not completely fixed. You can still replicate the issue in certain condition. Even in HDR videos you can notice the flicker, it's hard to replicate, but definitely it's there.
All those people who are saying GREEN TINT IS FIXED, simply unable to notice it or replicate it.
For that matter, RAISED BLACKS has been completely fixed.

No bruv, some panels don’t have this greenish greys. My spouse’s iPhone 12 doesn’t have greenish tint at all and my 12 PM has it on low brightness. For me it’s pretty easy to differentiate.
