Mine looks warmer by a bit compared to my mac set to 6500k white
Just compared my 13 Pro Max to my 27" iMac display and the phone is not any warmer looking compared to the iMac LCD display. Unfortunately, OLED off-axis color shifts badly.

It looks like you had about 7 hrs 51 mins (about 471 total mins), about 44% battery usage. You last charged to 72%. Am I getting this correct? If this is all correct, you have not been getting good battery life, you have been getting incredible battery life.

I have not noticed any excess battery drain from using ProMotion. Keep in mind that display in the 13 Pro/Pro Max is LTPO which is a lower power display.

It looks that way but the screen off time doesn’t mean anything in this case because with AdGuard and its vpn it’s reported as 100% use all the time but it consumes little battery. I realistically had a little more than 3 hours screen on and off time with that 44%. Which could roughly be inferred that it’s capable of 8hr SoT with 100% charge. Which I will never be able to test as I don’t have that much time to use the phone, and I will have lots of standby time

Pardon me but how did you see I recharged the phone at 48%? Such a precision
Before you started charging the second time, it looks like the battery percentage dipped under 50%, about 48% looks like to me. So you initially charged to 80% and then you ran the battery down to about 48% before you did the second charge. Between the first and second charge you used 80% - 48% battery. You charge the second time when the battery reached 48% and charged to 80% again.

On your battery usage chart there is a lot of light blue that is consuming a lot of battery. Is that the AdGuard? Is that the VPN portion that is consuming battery? I was using the 1.1.1.1 app which also has a VPN built into it. I stopped using it because in iOS 15, the MAC address is randomized so I figure no one is going to be able to track me and if I need privacy I use Private windows.

The light blue started today because I tried to use the faux VPN to block ads. But it actually doesn’t consume much battery, as you can see from my weekly graph. Lots of light blue today but similar battery consumption of the other days

Okay. But that consumers battery and should be counted as part of your battery life for that battery charge. I use AdBlock Pro to Block ads and it is working amazingly well. It even skips YouTube video ads. I no longer see any video ads on YouTube. Keeps my phone running cool.

Agreed. But my point is that the days before my consumption was similar, always in LTE and with a light use (never games etc.) I roughly used 45% for 3h screen time. If I used the camera more in those days my average would be much lower. And in Wifi it would be higher. Maybe that's normal. I just expected more. In daytime with higher brightness as I already said it's not unusual for me to churn 1% every few minutes. Not bad, but not the Max

Since I have been using Auto Brightness I find the display plenty bright. I never knew you had to calibrate it first before it would work effectively. Like now the brightness in my well lit room is 51% and I don’t see any penalty with battery life. I use to set the brightness to a fixed 35% and now I don’t notice drop in battery life using auto brightness. The key is calibrating it for pitch black.

I always used AB and it’s always perfect for me. Sometimes I lower brightness more and it learns. I might try calibrating it but I don’t feel the need. I also love love True Tone. Hate the cold blue with warm lights. Also love night shift (I know these don’t matter for battery, but just sayin’)

I am going to try True Tone again. I’ll give it to again and see how I get on with it.

I’ve been really amazed by the battery life of the 13. Took off charge at 9:27 this morning.

It’s now 2am and I’m at 47%.

I tried some “light” use in Wi-Fi, dark mode, it’s evening here so not super high brightness, but not minimum either. Safari, Instagram, Messages, Telegram, Tapatalk: 2% lasted me 16 minutes. Which would equal to 13,3 hours of screen time. So I think my 13 Pro is fine. It’s just that some apps are really, *really* power hungry (camera and photos for example) as is LTE.

Battery usage is not linear. Plus we know that the time taken for the battery to drop 1% right after charging is longer from subsequent drops. And add to the fact that we just don’t know Apple’s algorithm to calculate battery juice for the percentage display, forecasting total SoT is not really useful.

2% for 16 minutes is decent. But you mentioned Instagram as one of the apps used within this 16 minutes so that makes the situation better. Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp (with background activity) are sources of higher than usual battery drain. I would think your Pro is running according to specs so I wouldn’t be too concerned if I were you.

Someone stated that on iOS 14.8 the battery percentage was spot on with Coconut Battery. So may this will improved in iOS 15.1 or later. The Screen-On and Screen-Off times don't seem that useful to me.

Really would appreciate some advice on this... Overnight was seeing -3%, but last night was -10% on good wifi. I've unparied S4 Watch and set up as new. Did IPSW install for 15.0.2. In the hour-by-hour I see lots of Find My battery impact. Odd.

On a separate issue, this happened on iPhone that's being retired. Several days ago battery dropped off suddenly -- from Home.app? Thought it was a fluke. I disabled Home from iCloud settings. Same thing last night. Both times the phone was sitting idle for most of the day. What could be going on here??

6 am full charged and end at 8:24 pm with 27% mix 4g (also low signal) and wifi, auto brightness, some music over bluetooth and many safari tabs and apps in background. I’ll add another screenshot when I’ll get a particular battery life. Is it good?

I'd say perfectly on par with what's expected, even a little more than expected with still more than a quarter battery left. You could easily go over 8h SoT which is more than YouTube tests did with the 13. I'd say stop worrying and enjoy your phone
