Update - took the Pro to the Apple store yesterday and the genius agreed that something wasn’t right. I returned it and got a regular 13 (didn’t want to deal with the size of the max and they didn’t have any in stock anyway)

It’s early, but I’m very happy with the battery life even though it’s only Day 2. The phone also runs cool and doesn’t get warm (I have had an adblocker for Safari so nothing is different settings wise). Also, I have an Apple Watch Series 6 cellular which has always been paired to all of my phones so this is all a like-for-like comparison.

Going to miss promotion but it is what it is…don’t have the time or patience to go through a 13 Pro buy and return lottery just for this feature.

80% battery left:

this in wifi?

I’d say ~90% wifi.
Thanks. Yeah your Pro must have had something wrong, I'm about at 25% battery use for 2 hours of use but all in LTE, which seems ok as they would equal to 8 hours in LTE which is a lot. In wifi the consumption is much less. You did good.

13mini the busiest day I’ve had with it so far was this from the weekend. Obviously it’s never going to compete with pro or max phones, but I do think this is pretty good. My se2 or the 8 I had before that wouldn’t have managed to get to that time of day with that usage.

Well that's damn good. What did you do later in the day with that steep usage?

What kind of percentage drop is everyone seeing on standby for their phones per hour? I've noticed my 13PM drains about 3-4% per hour without using it at all. This is with wifi enabled, no background refresh enabled, limited system services turned on and 1-2 cellular bar at my house. What's strange is overnight it drains 3-4% over a 8 hour period but its different during the day....

next to nothing for me but I do not have any background refresh on, wifi at home and my signal strength i pretty good. Has to be something in the background.

Nothing shows up in the background for those period, unless you mean apps that are in standby and not forced out of multi tasking? How much of an impact is poor signal strength even if wifi is on? I don't remember it affecting my 11PM as much. This has started ever since 15.0.2 and now 15.1...It was great on 15.0.0 and 15.0.1

Stuck it on charge, was around 6/7% by then, took it off charge at35% did some browsing and listened to an audiobbook until I plugged it back in to charge overnight which is my usual routine.
It’s currently at 42%, its had a lighter use day today, its nearly 10pm here. It had a brief plug in around 5pm as I didn’t check and presumed it would have run down further than it actually had, and thought it would need a boost before i went out again. It must’ve been in the mid 50% range when I plugged it in, as when I did check after only a few minutes it was at 60%, so I unplugged it.
Screen on today is 4h 45m screen off usage is 4h 15m.

Question:

Any harm in attaching my 13PM to a belkin 2 in 1 during the day while I am at my desk at work? I have one in my bed room that I have used for charging overnight but thinking about getting one for my desk mainly for the magsafe. It is not because I am worried about the battery during the day but not sure what the protocol would be for it.

2 day old 13PM, should I be worried or too early to tell?

currently at 48%

It looks like you had about 3hrs 33 mins, 28% battery usage. Estimate to 100% battery usage, 12 hrs 40 mins. That is in line with what the 13 Pro Max gets for battery life. Your battery life is really good.

Are you using an ad blocker in Safari. If you aren’t consider using one as that can help with battery life, especially when you browse websites like MacRumors. Personally, I have had great experience using AbBlock Pro. But There are many to choose from.

To elongate the battery health, refrain from keeping it at high charge level always.

iPhone 13,
iOS 15.0.2

2 weeks old now, it gets me trough the day but im a little dissapointed about the battery life...
Im coming from the iPhone XR and it feels like i had the same results with a new iPhone XR back in the day..
Screen brightness is below 50%, usually around 20/30%
I get about the same results as when i use 4G or wifi

You are getting about 10 hrs on 100% battery usage. For the regular 13 the is amazing battery life. If you achieved that while on 5G/4G that is very impressive.

Disable 'push' notifications and watch your 13/13 pro fly. Although not a heavy user, more of a constant steady user - I get 3 days easily out of my 13. I set my email and normal push notifications to hourly. Wowsers. the difference is amazeballs.

Can you please explain how did you get this numbers from those screenshot? I don't understand and probably can't read Apple battery statistics correctly ?

Edit: and can you please describe my battery case. 13 PM

The screen on and screen off times that are shown on the battery usage chart are a moving 3 hour window. They are not very useful because they will include app times during charging which will not tell you your battery life off the charger. All I did was estimate by adding up all the individual bars in the chart off the charger. I also include in my estimation on screen (dark blue) and off screen (light blue) app times because off screen also uses battery. In the battery chart you showed, the battery level starts at about 76% and drops to 48%, 76%-48%=28%. I estimated 100% battery usage, 213(3 hrs 33 mins)/.28(28%)=760.7=12 hrs 40 mins.

6 hrs 51 mins, 35% battery used.

I am trying to run down my battery to shutdown. I have been trying to do as fast as possible. I have been running videos continuously. The damn thing won't die 😂 😂 😂 I am even watching a video and surfing the web at the same time. The picture-in-picture feature is great. Everything seem to be so fluid on my 13 Pro Max. Very amazing how fluid everything is and does not seem to affect multi-tasking.

What a wonderful problem to have. The reason I am trying to run down my battery to shutdown, I want to then charge to 100%. I want to see if this might reset the battery calibration. It was suggested by another poster. So I thought I would try it.

Man the bonkers insane battery life is very consistent. I have never experienced a phone quite like the 13 Pro Max. The other thing I was really impressed with, my 13 Pro Max stays completely cool to the touch through all this.

Dumb question. What’s the amber yellow bars represent?
