Um, well, let's please not mention anything about a file system. One of my biggest frustrations as an iPhone user.OK, now try to pull out 100 GB out of the obsolete Lightning USB 2.0 port to an external USB stick, let's see who's faster, Lightning or USB-C...
And bad Apple maps directions. Don't forget about that one!All that AI power, and all we get for it is Siri.
You know what, this series of ads are beautiful. The last three of them are just breathtaking, and moving.I find this Ad crap.
I used to like the old Apple Ads, they simply showed real usage scenarios and its features, instead of unrealistic sci-fi crap.
Sadly Apple started to create unrealistic crappy Ads, too.
Tight integration of hardware and software: errr that’s been kinda shaky lately, especially on the software part. How long it take for them to even implement universal control that they advertised last year?
People don’t buy galaxy phones for their speed.. they buy them because they hate iPhones.
Different strokes for different folks and different times. The first thing unrealistic was the size of the phone, so that means one handed operation for many is not really realistic.I find this Ad crap.

Cool, I guess? I’m looking forward to when this means a smarter keyboard, faster Siri and better object segmentation in pictures and video.
Until then I don’t really understand why these scores are important.
Specs meaning the actual performance of the chips. Apple a series chips have always beat there. Specs refer to memory size etc. Apple has always won where it counts. In before "it's not all about specs" posters chiming in. When Android were more powerful years ago and with better hardware, no one ever heard the end of it.
Now it's not about specs. LMAO. Give me a break.
Of course you can feel it. Lagging screens, phones running slow and hot. Apps delay on open and battery life is tortured.smartphones have been more or less the same over the last 6-7 or so years. apps on smartphones work pretty instantly and benchmarks that stress the phones out does not represent any performance benefit that consumers can feel. even if the iphone was 100x faster than the samsung phone, would you even feel that 100x?
I love everything about this entire comment. You’re right. The new desktop can’t come soon enough.Great that my iPhone is faster than any Android.
But people do not buy non-iPhones on raw performance and performance per watt alone.
They do so for other reasons like total cost of ownership especially in the sub-$399 market segment.
Be proud that people with the means can afford iPhones and any Apple devices as these industry leading in terms of over all user & ownership experience.
Those smartphones are superior to my 2012 iMac 27" Core i7 45nm that will be replaced by a 2022 iMac Pro 27" M1 Pro 5nm before Valentines Day 2023
What about tomorrow? Now the important factor is how long can the performance last despite updating to new OSes. It’s the performance in the next 4 years without needing to upgrade hardware. That’s what your missing.smartphones have been more or less the same over the last 6-7 or so years. apps on smartphones work pretty instantly and benchmarks that stress the phones out does not represent any performance benefit that consumers can feel. even if the iphone was 100x faster than the samsung phone, would you even feel that 100x?
No, she’s not. And I twitch whenever she says “just a sec” and then fails entirely.Siri is plenty fast
We use LumaFusion everyday on our M1 iPad Pro 12.9 editing 4K videos with effects and trust me it’s a testament to the speed of M1.iPad OS on M1 Mac and 16GB is still faster than most mobile/tablet devices.
That's amazing but what on earth do you want us to use it with? Ditto for Android.
20GB phones coming out so kids can play 2016 technology games like PUBG and Fortnite.
Mobile Processor performance has stopped being a factor for mobile buyers for a few years now.
Developers are unable to use these for some reason and nobody knows what to do about it.
Apple should release FCP for iPad Pro and lead the smartphone industry into the future of mobile computing.
The camera and on device machine learning.I’ve thought similarly, but also wonder if we just don’t currently have any tasks or apps that can even use the current power of the iPhone to its fullest. I’m out of the iPhone gaming demographic, which I would think is probably the only thing that can fully tax the system. Perhaps it’s photo / video related on-device processing, but I can’t imagine most professionals or general consumers are going to shoot videos, edit then on the iPhone and then publish them online, but I could be wrong. I’m more interested in how long I can use my iPhone without needing to charge it, and in this case it’s all about the chip’s efficiency, not performance.
You’ll be surprised (I was as well) how many today’s pros (photographers, videographers, etc) involve smartphones in their workflow. Many even do their work on it, as today’s flagship mobile chips are much better at these things than the typical x86 laptop out there. I’ve met with many photographers that adopted iPhone/iPad as their editing machine since they can do it on the spot without the burden of a clunky laptop.I’ve thought similarly, but also wonder if we just don’t currently have any tasks or apps that can even use the current power of the iPhone to its fullest. Tell me about it. The iPad Pro is one powerful device and not as bulky as a laptop. Even I use my Mini far more on he road over my MacBook due to this reason. My 2020 MacBook Pro is far lighter and not nearly as bulky as my old 2012 was with the CD drive built in but it’s still not like a iPad.You’ll be surprised (I was as well) how many today’s pros (photographers, videographers, etc) involve smartphones in their workflow. But of course, majority of people don’t need nor realize that performance. This is shown Samsung themselves as their own bestseller are the mid-range A5x series, meaning most people find that it’s enough for their needs.
That’s also why Apple has been building up their brand so the regular people who don’t know about performance still want to buy a $1000 iPhone because it’s an Apple.
