Yikes...I guess that means another return?
Talking about the Panel Serial Number, I think there is a slim chance of getting perfect screen. Even my new device come with G9N panel, there is still red tint on the left side of the phone screen.

May be we need to stick with this for another 12 months and hope to see Mini Led on Pro Models
How do you find the panel serial number?

Extremely disappointed that I might give the 13 Pro series a miss this year. Such a shame because I did experience first hand how good the battery life is on the 13 PM. But once I noticed the red tint on my unit, I cannot unsee it. Furthermore I have my 11 PM and I keep comparing those two phones. The 11PM has better display in total darkness, in Dark Mode under 15% brightness level.

I wonder what went wrong for the last two years with Apple’s new iPhone releases. I don’t recall we ever had such saga prior to iPhone 12.

I see. I think I've done two returns at the same store so far, but I'll definitely keep that in mind.

I'm also locked out of purchasing a new one online because of some quantity limit issue, even though I only have one 13 PM in my hands. My other orders were either cancelled or returned.

It's too bad that the screens are like this. I've never seen such obvious defects in iPhone displays before.
Is the quantity limit you ran into because you purchased too many of the same configuration or just too many Pro/Pro Max’s in general? How long does it last on your account or couldn’t you just use another Apple ID?

I’ve got a 512gb graphite and a 256gb sierra blue (both iPhone 13 pro max). I’d say there’s quite a difference in how the screens look.
These pictures were taken in a dark room with minimum screeen brightness. The first three pictures are with True Tone on, and the last three with True Tone off.
Besides the "set alarm" pictures, there's a gray picture and a white picture.

The green tinted one on the left would bother me but at least they have decent uniformity.

Yes, they are quite uniform across the screen, and no “red borders” like I’ve seen on this board.
The sierra blue drives me nuts when I’m out in the dark, as it looks way too yellow/green, and makes everything on the screen look bad.
The graphite one might have a slight red tint, but compared to the yellow/green screen, it looks quite “perfect” (knowing that no such thing as a perfect screen exists)

I think just too many Pro Max devices in general. The block is still on my Apple ID and it's been about 4 days now. I was told that it's due to hitting the two phones per customer limit, even though I only physically have one phone right now, regardless of whether the others were returned.

See this Reddit post on the Switch subreddit for an almost identical issue:
I also read somewhere that high refresh rate OLED screens have higher manufacturing tolerances to increase yield, which explains why the screens this seem significantly worse than prior OLED years. So I think it's a combination of bad calibration and manufacturing defects that were deemed appropriate.

personally, I would think that there are small red tint on the left hand (Left iPhone) however, if that doesnt bother ur eyes much, better go with that one.

I have this as well on my iPhone 13 Pro. It’s like a green ‘band’ from the top to the bottom in the middle/right part. It’s most visible with grey colors and low brightness. iPhone settings in dark mode is a nightmare.

I had this problem too on my iPhone 11 Pro, but I had that one for 2 years and I don’t remember if I already noticed it in the first year. But this is unfortunately really common for OLED screens. Before I had an iPhone I had numerous Nokia/Microsoft Lumia Phones (until windows phone was doomed to die) and they all had it as well.

Does anybody had any luck returning the phone, and with what severity of uniformity issues? Normally I read the entire thread but it’s gotten really big already…

I would think pro and pro max’s. If there is a block on pro max’s you wouldn’t Be able to get the pro. I’ved tried it once and it was for both in general. however, the mini and the non-pro model isn’t blocked and I can get those without issues.

All 7 phones I've had have this issue. It's a matter of what is tolerable for you

Got my iPhone 13 Pro Max the day after launch so likely one of the first batches. My screen is perfect with great uniformity. It’s much better than my launch day iPhone 12 Pro.

EDIT: My screen serial starts with G9P which should be the “bad ones”. So there’s that.

until you try to see it in the dark room with gray background and 10% brightness. or just alarm clock setting

I had 40 iPhone 12 Pro’s… that many?
So lol

Did you keep the keeper , did you find a keeper, and did you skip iPhone 13?

I would hope for all that effort it’s a device you’re holding onto for a while

And was that 40 trips to apple store? Geez. Could’ve bought you a iPhone 13 with that gas money

My 13 Pro at 0% and 20% on the clock/alarm screen, its the first OLED screen I’ve had that’s this even including my LG tv and Z Fold 2.
This screen actually looks pretty good with only some color shift from top to bottom, nothing egregious like earlier posts. Are you seeing anything in person?

I've noticed a trend where 13 Pro displays seem to be less affected than Pro Max too.
