In person it looks very even with no noticeable colour cast, based on what I’ve seen here I got lucky on my first attempt for both screen and build quality.

This is the first iPhone I haven’t had to exchange at least once and I have owned every generation including the original.
Yeah. You got lucky. Three times exchanged for both the 12PM and 13PM for me. Once for frame damage on each and once for uniformity issues on each.

Have you tried to call Apple Care and complain how your situation was handled not to your satisfaction?
Yes, but was given two options: 1.) send it for repair and I don’t have a spare phone so not really an option - and also what’s the guarantee that they will replace the device? 2.) Pay $29 to have Apple ship a loaner phone and send phone for repair.

It’s really annoying, tbh. New phone less than 30 days and had to deal with this nonsense. Irritated to see all the shiny internals from the outside through the gap. No problem on the bottom side though (no gap whatsoever, can’t fit a paper).

Apple store denies that this is an issue.

Ask Apple for the gap to be at the bottom on your replacement 🤣Since if it’s not at the top it’ll be at the bottom. Apple is definitely a few years behind Samsung in this respect. I remember similar chatter about the gaps on Samsung devices.

Wow that gap is pretty bad.. seems worse than the ones that have gaps from the factory.

Hey mate 👋 Have you seen the new pixels yet?

Any red, yellow, pink, green or off axis tint.

Hello. No, the pixels don’t do much for me hence why I haven’t paid much attention to their newer models in all honesty although I did own a pixel 4A briefly that was pink tinted. Alas uniformly 🤣

Not sure if I’m seeing red tint on the right. 🤔

People are already complaining that the pixel 6 pro doesn’t get bright enough either. 🤦‍♂️

Yep, pink.
So always something with the Pixel devices. Historically it’s been quality and build issues. Then again, same can be said about Apple devices lately. 🤣
Guess what?

They’re also using a old modem that’s from a Samsung s20 , fingerprint reader is from a s10, slow as.

Was looking at testing one out since google has a 14 days return policy, not going near it now. ?‍♂️

What did you do now lol?

I keep comparing the screens of 13 PMs.
All pictures were taken with auto brightness off and True Tone off in a totally dark room.
Some are taken with 0% brightness and some at about 20% brightness.
I think the screens are quite uniform, but I’m not sure if one has a yellow/green tint or if it’s the other one that has a red tint (especially when looking at the white in the color test image).
The phones did not change positions during the test.
What do you think?

The one on the right looks abnormally green. The one on the left seems to me like there is some faint red tinting on the left and right edges of the top half of the screen, especially visible in the last pic. However it's relatively good to what I have seen, so if you can't see it in other use, it's a keeper.

I see that I switched the names for graphite and sierra blue when adding text. It’s not very relevant for the post, just wanted to point it out.
Yeah, if you look at the first picture, the left one is almost pitch black under the text box where you set the options for the alarm, while the right one shows a green tint and looks as if the brightness has been turned up.
Raising the brightness, though, I wasn’t sure what was the most “correct” hue, as one looked a little too yellow, and the other a little too light red.
But, I thank you very much for your input - it’s very much appreciated.
And, I have to keep in mind that these pictures are taken under “extreme conditions” - very low brightness and a totally dark room.
In ordinary, everyday situations, they both look quite good.

By the way I don’t blame you for switching.

Hard to say no to this blue beast, even if it does have red tint. 👌

They’re very clever. Using the white screen protector and having the iPhone face down so you can’t see the top edge of the stainless steel frame for dings and such. The stainless steel frame defects are never on the rear edge of the stainless steel frame. Always front facing side of the frame.

Never realized that, you getting it exchanged for a silver model once they’re back in stock?

No. This one - the third one is acceptable. I’m not going through all that merry go around for a silver one. Sad really that it was a near identical situation with my 12PM. Took three attempts due to the same two issues. 😢
Roll on the 14..
