I love the 120hz, but have noticed after a few days that the screen uniformity of my 13Pro is significantly worse than my outgoing 11Pro. This is especially evident at night with low brightness (say 10% or so). For example, in Apollo the left to right, green to red tint is extremely noticeable and irritating. I am going to return this unit but may wait a few weeks (months) for the factory to improve on this. Unless this is within tolerance for OLED displays and you have to just live with it, which would really suck since I'm not looking forward to playing the panel lotto.
I went through basically the same thing with my first day one 13PM although it had more of a green tint issue mixed up with non uniformity. My second one is much much better, I’ll link pictures down below. The second one has a Samsung G9L screen, the first one I didn’t check unfortunately because at that time I didn’t even know there were differences in the serial numbers. my G9L is still not 100% even but as far as I know there isn’t a perfectly even OLED panel. First two pictures are my current 13PM at low brightness displaying grey content and the last two pictures are side by side comparisons between my faulty first unit and the one I currently use. I think I’ll keep my current G9L one!

Did I win the lottery??I cant see it the pink tint, I think it’s a chance to keep this unit
If you won the lottery, chances are you should be busy getting a lawyer and not on MacRumors. Did you get a halfway decent display?...Yes

G9L must be A-grade, G9N B-grade and G9P C-grade then? I have not seen a G9L display yet and it’s been an almost even split between G9N and G9P for the phones I tested, so they must be very rare. You have a unicorn in your hands :)

I am not sure whether it's worth going through multiple more devices to find an excellent screen. Most look like crap. What are your thoughts?
I’ve got a G9L 13PM that’s still not 100% uniform. I’ve attached pictures below, what do you think?

How does mine look? Debating if I should exchange I’m still within my 14 day return window. The first one is at 100% brightness in and the second is 0% brightness.

Looks like the green phone will be a keeper for me. The green tint is noticeable at very low brightness and there is some mild red tinting on the left side that I need to look hard for to find, and my old phone looks terrible on the left at the same brightness. Very good screen otherwise. The gap above the earpiece is a bit larger than I would like, but nothing egregious and a good tradeoff :) It only took 8 phones, but I did it!

At what brightness percentage are you able to see green and red tint? Mine is at 5% to 7% everything above that is great.

Is it noticeable in person? It looks good enough to me.
Only if you really look for it and only at 15% brightness or lower. But it’s still nothing compared to the unit I’ve had before. I’ll keep that one!

My thought would be why not just keep the one you just picked up the SB one. If you purchased it on nov. 1, you do have till 1/8/2021 to return it. Apple has just begun the Extended return policy effective Nov. 1 through 12/25/2021. Just saying. Probably by the time, QC may have improved, who knows.

Personally, regardless of that green tint on the SB one you got, i think that one is good. But that’s your choice lol.
I think we should forget about this idea of QC improving because of demand. It might improve because they work out some kinks, but they're not going to start binning more phones because demand goes down. That would be a direct hit to the bottom line. If anything, they'd be more likely to lower standards to increase margin.

Maybe the manufacturing process at Samsung will stabilize, who knows. It’s pretty normal for manufacturing processes to be more stable and yield better results after a while (e.g. in automotive this is very common).

Hard to tell for other people really, especially through photo unless it was extremely bad. I say if you don’t notice any issues it’s fine. For me I noticed the color being different across the screen almost immediately during setup. Maybe my eyes are really good, tried getting family members and friends to look and they couldn’t or could barely tell.

Yeah 99.999999999 percent of folks don't care so why should Apple waste money on it hence the lottery until MAYBE micro LED is used.

I have said the same thing a number of times. QC might actually get worse before it gets better (if at all) as they pump as many units out as they can. Not worth holding out hope for IMO until well into next year which at that point everyone will be focusing on the 14 ?‍♂️

Probably from the iPhone 17 onwards. Lol no other smart phone manufacturer is using it yet.
Look at this ?‍♂️ even the pixel 6 has a cooler display than the XS max.

If only apple would tell us why they intentionally calibrate their displays so warm. ?
