Guys, this is my 3rd device (Graphite) iPhone 13 Pro Max 128gb. I think I’m done with OLED lottery. At least with this kind of non-uniformity or red tint or whatever the issue is, I am comfortable using in Dark Mode.
Apple really needs to address this issue and either have a software fix for do a recall, these phones are really expensive they should not have these kinds of issue for there price tag.

These threads can really get into your head if you're not careful. I switched the to 13 Pro Max last night and I think I won the OLED lottery.

Try setting your phone to 5% brightness and go check in a dark or really dim room then see if you notice any tinting, this issue seems to be happening at low brightness levels

But how often will you really stare at a black screen in the dark? How does the screen look in light? How does it look in the dark when you're using it normally?

Nope. Nope. Nope. My phone looks good to me. I'm happy with it to this point, not going to do something that is outside of how I would normally use the device to try and find a flaw.

"not going to do something that is outside of how I would normally use the device to try and find a flaw."

That goes against what being a MacRumors member does...shame on you!! :)

I guess we all using our phone in the dark, especially before heading to bed. This issue not only appear in the dark, it’s also appear in the light mode, under normal light condition.

Why settle? When does one draw the line ? I know there’s no way in hell I’ll be like that other fella on here that went into his 40th iphone exchange , did you see that ?? three was plenty of time and money spent. Thanks Apple View attachment 1902223
Feels like a waste of time and energy on both sides. Aside from being a huge inconvenience for the buyer, now Apple will have a bunch of relatively new phones they’d have to refurbish and later sell at a lower price or give as a model swap lol

All this could have been avoided with more stringent quality assurance.

yeah I could barely notice it in the dark/dark mode, for me it’s mostly noticeable when I’m on light mode and reading an article that’s mostly black text on a uniform white background. It’s so distracting when half of the screen is a different tone than the rest.

Any 13 pro max user facing flicker/stutter while scrolling in app like twitter , fb, app store , file app etc.

G9N 13 Pro. There's a warmer reddish white point across the whole screen. It's only apparent when I'm looking back and forth between the 16" MacBook Pro or another device.

Kind of on the fence. Color filters make it look too blue and my eyes mostly adjust to the warmer display.

Software can’t fix a hardware issue.
It may be a software issue because when I look at a white page at 5% brightness it looks all uniform but then when I switch to the settings app I can see the pink tint on the top appear within 3-4 seconds and then when I flip back to the white page the pink tint disappears

This really sucks because aside from this issue the phone is great, I wanted to exchange my phone but not for the tinting issue but because I want to exchange my silver for the gold but I’m afraid that I’ll get a worse unit with worse tinting issues, I can only see my issue when my brightness is below 7% everything above that and it looks great, I’m hearing some ppl on here are seeing this tint issue with brightness levels below 50%, so I guess I feel somewhat lucky.

Yep, plus a power hungry modem from a s20 and old unreliable slow fingerprint reader.

They should consider leaving the flagship market entirely. I actually liked the 4a. No gimmicks just vanilla experience. It’s the one product by Google that you get what you paid for.

The lack of marketing isn’t why Google couldn’t push Pixels to the masses. It’s how out-of-touch they are that defines their lack of sales.

guys, this is my discussion on Apple Community. May be our voice in that forum will be heard by Apple.

I wouldn’t put my faith on the idea of a software fix. Ask those guys here who were looking for a software fix to the raised blacks display in the 12 series.

It’s safe to assume that whatever Apple is doing with how they calibrate, design the OLED, it has changed between 2019 and 2020 and the trend will continue throughout the foreseeable future. We just have to get used to it, or keep your old iPhone like what I’m doing. Wanted to go to the 13 Pro Max but decided to stay on my 11 Pro Max.

I wonder for those ppl who say they got a perfect phone with no issues if maybe they are not looking at in the right settings, and if they are then that means that there are good displays out there and if that’s the cause then that’s really bad on apples part, it’s not fair that we all pay the same price tag for these devices but yet we get different user experience from person to person.

I really want to get my silver iPhone pro max exchanged for for the gold one but I’m so scared now to get a worse tinted display then the one I have now, do you think it’s worth it?

Well it doesn’t matter if they said they don’t notice it, in my opinion. It’s only an issue if the users see it. If they don’t see it then it’s a non-issue. I have come to terms about the tinting characteristic of recent iPhones. Perhaps it’s not an issue by definition, because we can only notice it under certain lighting, certain mode with certain brightness level. But it’s a characteristic that some people, like us, do not like.
