It's only 2 ounces heavier than my XS, I don't even notice the difference. If I can't handle an extra 2 ounces, it might be time for me to hit the gym harder.
It has nothing to do with the weight and being able to lift it. I dont know why people make this silly comment all the time. It has to do with carrying it around. I live in Florida and we wear shorts all day, i dont like having a brick in my pocket. Apple should have went with 7000 series Aluminum on this on the Pro models as well. No benefit having SS on a phone. Zero.

I live in Arizona and wear shorts/board shorts every day too, almost year-round. I just don't see how two extra ounces makes any difference. My car keys weigh more than that, and they go in my pockets too.

To each their own, I guess. I just don't see it as a big deal. I don't see it as any deal.

12 Pro was already too heavy for me.
Not when holding it in my hands. But it was annoying in the pants.

Especially in the gym shorts, it felt like a brick was constantly pulling them down.

Switched to the Mini and i barely notice that it is there.

I went with the regular 13 due to weight. It was the only thing I disliked about my 12 Pro last year. The stainless steel was too much for me. I still wanted a pro but knew I would be unhappy with the hefty feeling. The 13 isn’t too heavy. I’m enjoying it so far.

Definitely noticeably heavier of course but not enough to make me return my 13Pro. I came from the X so I’m dying over the weight when I hold it tilted, while lying in bed. In this instance I’m glad I didn’t go max.

Personally I like the weight of 13 Pro. It give a solid feel.

For those complaining about 13 Pro being too heavy, it is not as heavy as the original cell phone.🤣
But maybe we are trying to go back to the original weight

I would rather have a bit more weight and better battery life than a lightweight phone that does not make it though the day, you cant have it both ways (yet). Just a thought. i find the 13 pro to feel good its heavier than the 12 pro but the battery life on that phone was not great at all.

Are people that weak that they can’t hold onto a smart phone? Or do they hold it continuously? I find the phone just fine and solid. 💪 I to live in Florida and wear shorts and having the phone in my pocket doesn’t weigh me down.

I went from iPhone 11 Pro to 13 pro and I can tell a slight difference in weight but not much. The two things that I am finding I need to get use to are the flat sides and the camera bump. I prefer the rounded sides of the 11 pro. The camera bump is just giant. I am trying to learn to put my hands in different places because I find myself touching the bottom part of the camera a lot.

Anyone else finding this iPhone extraordinarily heavy? Not sure if I should get used to it or return.

thought they’d be a thread on the weight! Reminds me of a brick!
13 Pro MAX here it is insanely heavy, I also own a Note 20 Ultra 5G, which is literally Bigger, Thinner, and Lighter, has double the RAM 12GB vs 6GB and 256GB vs 128GB, and has a Note Stylus tucked inside

I will say the 13 ProMAX has a Brighter display, and Louder speakers.

I just wish they’d do all the pro features, but keep the aluminum. I’m gonna have a pro for the first time, but one of my daughters has the 12 pro, and a couple of my sisters have pros. So many people put them in cases anyway, especially after they have paid $1,000+ for them, that the stainless doesn’t matter that much. I prefer the matte look of the aluminum. I do realize that’s my opinion, but would venture to guess there are others who feel the same.

It’s heavier than my 11 Pro Max. I actually don’t mind though…I downsized from the Max to a regular Pro because I have a compressed nerve in my neck for a year and a half, and while I wait for surgery, the constant nerve pain in my arms and hands has made it very difficult for me to use the Max. I have dropped that phone more in the last year than any iPhone I’ve ever owned. The extra weight still bothers my hand and fingers if hold it the wrong way, but the flat sides and less
width make up for it.

I was surprised by the weight though.

Had been using my iPhone 11 PM without case for a while. Using my 13 PM with the silicone case definitely is a noticeable weight difference. Especially when using the phone for extended periods of time.

I love bigger screens/phones so obviously keeping it - the better battery is a bonus.

I live in FL and wear shorts every day and thank heavens that Apple came out with a mini because my XS was like a big heavy brick weighing down my shorts every day. Have you tried running with an 11/12/13 Pro? I agree with the others who say that an aluminum Pro makes more sense than stainless.

Ok, so, experiment time! I have a large coin that is within a gram of the difference in weight between my SE 2020 and an iPhone 13 Pro. I’ve taped it to the back of my phone’s case. It’s not perfect: the weight would be more distributed on the larger phone. But hopefully I’ll get a good feel for handling and walking around with it.

To be honest - coming from an X to a 13 max, I love it and couldn’t go back. With wfh and minimal travelling these days this thing is perfect. If I want to go super light I just wear the watch and carry my AirPods in my pocket. And keep the SS on the pros - they’re beautiful!

I have switched from the iPhone X to the 13 Pro and I don't really notice a big difference in weight, despite it apparently being a 30 gram increase (174 g -> 203 g). The form factor is definitely something I have to get used to, though. The square shape is much nicer to hold on to, but the larger screen size makes it a bit less comfortable to handle with one hand. Definitely happy I didn't opt for the Pro Max.

It’s not that. Some people get nerve pain or joint pain while holding it to use it.

And I don't think it's even that for most: we go through life interacting with objects, and at least for objects we use all the time we have an intuitive sense of how heavy or big or long or short or round or smooth or whatever that object is. Not to harp on butter knives again, but when I pick one up I know about how heavy it should be, and how it should feel in my hand.

We interact with our phones every day many times a day: long ago our minds formed an intuitive sense of their size, weight and shape. Making a change this big throws that out of whack. It's different enough for some people that their brains have to stop for a moment: "Whoa, that's heavier than I expect a phone to be." That's jarring, at a low level.

For example: I've gone out of my way to use more colons than I normally do when typing this post. For some people, that will be odd: perhaps they are just not used to that type of syntax. It's not specifically off-putting: it's still correct grammar. But perhaps it took you out of the flow of the act of reading.
