The new cameras have a farther focus distance than the old ones. Something like 6-7 inches i think.I also noticed taking pictures with WhatsApp it will not focus when object are little to close !!!
Never seen this before on other devices

Base on my years of experience with apple front line reps and call techs and working in retail for over 10 years, they don’t know their stuff and most are scripted. If anything they’re just delaying your complains till the big guys at apple actually do something about it or pass it on to someone else to deal with it
Oh hell no. I did more tests with the main camera app and it’s seeing double. This is definitely defective and it’s definitely hardware. The new cameras have a farther focus distance than the old ones. Something like 6-7 inches i think.
So it should switch to the ultrawide lens in this case ?The new cameras have a farther focus distance than the old ones. Something like 6-7 inches i think.
Exactly. Pawns on the chess board that see the reports of issues first and tend to find the 'fix' for said issues last.as if front line retailer workers dictate these sort of things.
Considering how popular those apps are this is almost funny that this type of bug made it through into production.
I would assume the folks at Apple testing the new hardware were specifically ONLY testing 1st party apps. I don't think this has anything to do with a "WFH Scenario", as others seem to want to point out. I'm sure the WFH folks were also only told to test 1st party Apple Apps.Funny. Or genuinely sad. It means their in-house testers aren’t even doing the most cursory testing of the hardware as they develop software for it. This is probably a result of remote teams (across the globe not working from home) doing different development tests but using an emulator to test software vs using an actual hardware sample.
Apple has always been extremely tight fisted with their development samples but I think they’re spreading themselves too thin at this point and need to establish a better protocol.
Proof?Oh hell no. I did more tests with the main camera app and it’s seeing double. This is definitely defective and it’s definitely hardware.
Same here. You are not going to get the same kind of quality for the same price if it is made in USA. The phone, if it is made in USA, might put Apple in a weaker position when it comes to competitiveness in price. (In other words, the phone might cost Apple more to make thus the consumer will need to pay more). That is one of the many reasons why lots of manufacture jobs "disappeared".Give me an iPhone that is made in China over an iPhone made in India or the USA.
The work ethic and diligence of Chinese workers can't be matched.
I won't buy an iPhone unless it's made in China.
I'm leaning more towards this situation. This could be not identifying or making clear who to test for and a broad selection of use cases. Per my original comment, considering how popular these apps are, you'd think these types of bugs would've been caught although maybe it's an issue with the app developers and their coding.I would assume the folks at Apple testing the new hardware were specifically ONLY testing 1st party apps. I don’t want to upload anything. Is it normal? When the camera changes you can see double for a second and how the camera is focusing. This didn’t happen to me in my 13 ProProof?
Hmm could it be because of the raw setting you have. That double image does seem weirdI don’t want to upload anything. Is it normal? When the camera changes you can see double for a second and how the camera is focusing. This didn’t happen to me in my 13 Pro
Yeah no, this ain’t normal at all.I don’t want to upload anything. Is it normal? When the camera changes you can see double for a second and how the camera is focusing. This didn’t happen to me in my 13 Pro
Can't you use open Action Mode in video and shoot a quick video as you jog?anyone contemplating exchanging. It be nice to know if there was a way to see if it ruined the camera.
What do you mean by when the camera change?I don’t want to upload anything. Is it normal? When the camera changes you can see double for a second and how the camera is focusing. This didn’t happen to me in my 13 Pro
Just to be clear, it doesn’t stay that way. It focuses after a second but it seems like something is offYeah no, this ain’t normal at all.
That be nice to know yes.anyone contemplating exchanging. It be nice to know if there was a way to see if it ruined the camera.
When you point at something close or far to you the camera changes automatically to focus. If you point to something close it uses one camera and if you point to something far it uses another. So when I change the thing I’m pointing from far to close or close to far the camera changes and this happens where I can see double for a second and the it focuses but it doesn’t look quite right after it focuses anyway. What do you mean by when the camera change?
I disabled it and went back to factory settings, still does the same thing. Also it started shaking for 2 seconds when I opened Snapchat and if I open instagram it makes a noise.Hmm could it be because of the raw setting you have. That double image does seem weird
Yeah, I think I’m gonna ask for a reimbursementI’m not even going to open mine, it’s going from the delivery driver into my hands then to the shop for a refund. Pick up my 13 PM tomorrow & saved £200 lmao.
If i get too close say 6" or so it wont focus. On the native camera up it switches to the macro lens and focuses up close. So your saying on what’s app it’s normal to have the non focus happen
