iPhone 14 Pro Delivery Estimates Begin Slipping Into October

I went through the pre-order process on Wednesday and I was all set this morning. At 8:00EST, I opened the store and completed my order for a Purple 14Pro (and AirPod Pro 2) and it went right through for delivery on the 16th. Guess i was lucky.
Question: I forgot that the phone deliveries require a signature - they still require that, don't they? I always miss the UPS guy so I have to go to the UPS warehouse and wait for them to find the damn order. Is there a way to change the delivery to store pickup without losing your delivery date...if anyone knows? If I can't, guess maybe I have to call in sick!!

Got my wife’s iPhone Pro for day one delivery even though the store let me in 7 minutes late. Setting up my preorder ahead of time made the whole process smooth.
Got my order in at 8:03AM. Both iPhones arriving for 09-16-22.
3 hours later I checked and they changed my delivery arrival to 9-23. Wtf! Funny thing, the purple that I ordered is still available online for delivery 9-16 yet my order for the purple is now 09-23.

Should still have seen a price increase in the US. Also will they be so quick to drop the price once inflation lowers, will they heck.
I think most times if you change to ups store, it will add a day. Could be Monday if dont have Saturday delivery. Maybe call instead of using the app so you can ask. The last time used app it doesn’t tell you date change in advance of choosing.

This morning, I used the phone Apple Store app and had no problem at all, except the site opened up about 4 minutes late for me after sitting there with the loading prompt going in circles for a bit.

UPS don't require a signature. And if you are to pick up at UPS warehouse, now they'll charge you a fee.
Thanks. I almost would rather just go by the local Apple Store now instead of having it delivered. First I need to find out if a signature is required.
Thanks for sharing that article, but not really sure what that has to do with the statement I made regarding Apple and their delivery time frames. Last I checked, phone hasn’t released yet so how could they tell someone that they would get phone on 9/16 and not deliver on that? Simply telling people to beware if they order from Best Buy. As I said, countless threads year after year of people not getting phones on release day after being told they would. Happened to a cousin of mine two years ago. Got phone roughly 3 weeks after release day after being told he would have on release day.
Fee. WTH. UPS saves by not delivering or having to deliver 3 times then hold in warehouse and not get to charge fee.

Inflation is always that purchasing power is becoming less, so things become more expensive. If 'inflation goes down' it is still inflation, just at a slower rate. There's deflation, which in the current global climate is extremely unlikely. Your money is worth less today than it was a year ago. It will most likely be worth even less next year due to inflation. The amount of change determines (or is determined by) the rate of inflation. Prices aren't going down was my point. Not anytime soon, if ever. Think back to the 70's, 80's and what prices were like on things compared to today...

Yeah this kinda sucks I ordered a pro max , setup in advance, the order was in about 3 min after the orders went live and while my leather case is showing 9/13 the phone is 9/28 to 10/3 now I did order the 512gb and they must be in short supply in the larger capacities
Shortly after Apple started accepting pre-orders for all four iPhone 14 models, delivery estimates are beginning to slip into October on its online store in the U.S. and select other countries. Exact availability varies by configuration ordered.
Many customers who managed to work around issues with Apple's online store and place an order quickly are set for launch day delivery. iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max models will begin arriving to customers and launch in stores on Friday, September 16, while the iPhone 14 Plus launches on Friday, October 7.
For customers who have yet to order, however, many iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models are now estimated for delivery in the first half of October from Apple. Availability of the standard iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models has held up better.
It's a similar situation in Canada, where nearly every iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max configuration is estimated for October delivery as of writing.
Customers who really want one of the new iPhone 14 models on launch day might still have luck with arranging in-store pickup at their local Apple Store during the checkout process on Apple's website, but availability varies. It is also common for some Apple Stores to have limited stock of the new iPhones for walk-in customers on launch day.
While the standard iPhone 14 models have very few changes this year, including an A15 Bionic chip with an extra GPU core and new car crash detection and satellite texting features for emergencies, the Pro models feature an always-on display with an all-new pill-shaped Dynamic Island cutout, a 48-megapixel rear camera lens, and more.
Pricing continues to start at $799 for the iPhone 14 and at $999 for the iPhone 14 Pro.

I wanted to get set up ahead of time but it doesn't let you if you are doing carrier EIP for the $1000 trade in credit :/ and of course T- mobile's system couldn't handle the load of everyone at once so my delivery date is October by the time the system went up again.
Yeah not sure how they can confirm a date on a receipt and the later in the day have that date change by 3 weeks
I selected 8:00. Looks like if that time was filled, rather than give another time option, we just got kicked to home delivery.
This was selecting 256GB Pro Max in Space Black. I did the pre-pre order configuration on Wed., didn't seem to matter. Oh well.
