I don’t think it’s universally available. I had it on one of four devices yesterday; now I don’t have it on any. The one that did have it yesterday was updated today with the recent beta, and now it’s gone.

Works just fine for most of us
If you think long pressing the spacebar and scrolling around to place the cursor where you want it is better than just tapping where you want it then either you're an Apple fanboy or have never used an Android. 3D Touch was even 10x better than how it's implemented today.

we have live scores on the Dynamic island that doesn't even look like any island, it looks like an elongated pill.
It’s called an island because it is surrounded on all sides by the main display—similar to how a kitchen island is surrounded by the kitchen or a street island is surrounded by the road.

There are also plenty of geographic islands that are elongated.

Car Key is coming standard on a whole slew of new cars.

HomeKit is about to support the Matter standard that all the heavy hitters (Apple, Google, Amazon, etc) have agreed upon.

State ID…is reliant on state buy in (our DMV just got its first major statewide update since the 80’s two years ago…but is one of the first to support State ID).

The thing here is these are all different industries. You can’t just scoop them all into one bucket and ask why things aren’t moving forward. They all are, but at the pace that the industry/laws/etc allow.
Car key was announced a year ago with 1 manufacturer onboard.

Homekit has been out for 9? years and is just now getting major support and its from an alliance.

State ID - yup, proving my point to at T

Youre saying what im saying but somehow trying to twist it to be positive. Im lumping them all together because each separate launch has been done the exact same with minimal integrators onboard. Still haven't seen a hotel that uses my iphone to enter. Still haven't seen front door locks that allow me to use my apple wallet to unlock. My point is apple announcers features for products that are still 1+ years away from fruition. I get secrecy, but this is bad for consumers.

Sorry, I've never seen an island that small, be it in a kitchen, street, or in the world. It's the size of an elongated pill.

I can not figure out how to get live sport scores to work. I have an iPhone 14 max pro with iOS 16.1 beta 4. I live in USA I followed my teams for mlb in appletv as well as in news app. Game scores do not show up on Lock Screen or dynamic Island. Please help

It is through Apple's built-in TV app (you have to hit the Follow button on each game every time.)

Any sports league could update their own app with support for this feature with their own aesthetic once iOS 16.1 is released.
What is the built in TV app you guys keep mentioning? Apple TV? I’m on Beta 16.1 and I can’t get it to work except on the timer. Using a 13 Pro Max since I am waiting on my 4th replacement 14 Pro Max which UPS lost the 1st 3 in transit to my house.

They mean the TV app.

The live scores aren’t universally available. I had it on one device, and now I have it on zero.

The app named TV. Black icon.

Apple seems to be enabling/disabling the sports score feature as the betas go on. I'm sure it'll return in the final release of iOS 16.1.

Can you screen shot it and post it here? This is all I have.

I am enjoying this feature for NBA scores. I wished it was working for NFL.

There is an app called Sports Alerts which will allow dynamic island scores for a bunch of major sports. And it’s easier to start the score watching than Apples’ Method. You set up the leagues you are interested in, find the sport you want, than tap on the game, than tap on the 3 dot menu and tap on start activity. Works really well. And you can run multiple scores mat the same time. Plus it’s free. Give it a shot.

Does the ESPN App use this now?
It doesn't appear to. But check out the free app Sports Alerts. It does a great job with this. You can customize it for your sports and teams. And it will let you create a live activity for most sports.
