It's 8.3" with super thick bezels. I have two iPad Mini 3rd generations. Bezels and home button are too big for pocket usage. Again we are talking 20mm or less for a 7.5" phone. This wouldn't be hard to execute on Apple's end.

As long as John Prosser doesn't start talking about this it may be true.
I consider a possible hole punch camera simply a design choice, not a must-have feature. Just like the current notch that you don’t notice when using the iPhone, a hole punch version isn’t going to make me happy or be a decision maker for me. There are other elements of the iPhone 14 that will make me want to upgrade, like extended battery life, better main cameras, perhaps even a return to the iPhone 4-style form factor (glass sandwich design).
Some of us make good livings and buy what we want. If there’s a 14mini I’ll get that. If not I’ll stick with my 13 for a bit.

I mean they're not gonna keep it just for aesthetics. When they have a way of doing everything that they currently need things housed in the notch for, then they'll remove it. Until then I don't think it's going anywhere, as components get smaller it may shrink though.
I was very close to doing the same, but it felt a little wasteful given I have the 12 mini already. Voting with my wallet doesn't trump being environmentally conscious.
This. Make it slightly thicker to accommodate a bigger battery, give it all the features of the Pros, and watch the sales soar, I'm sure of it, my heart demands it!
I think one of the reasons for this is that people looking for cheap phones often go with dirt cheap Androids instead, most don't understand why it's important with long term software support which you don't get with those phones.
People are getting their hopes up too quickly. They just introduced the notch to the MBP. Next it has to make its way to the MBA. Then give it another 2 years and they’ll start to remove it from their devices and use it as a selling point for their new devices. This is still Apple, right lol
I cant wait! There is a great deal of design changes I desire from Apple, and it would be a good start if the iPhone 14 could start evolving, and introducing some of them. (Notch, Camera bump, uneven speaker holes, unbalanced antenna bands.)Welcome to the hole punch era

Why spend big money for an inferior display? Just not worth it. The display is what you notice the most the UI is what you use all the time
You just make it sound like you're too cool for a 60Hz display since there are faster displays out there. Makes you sound kinda snobby like... pfft... 60Hz screens are for peasants!
Same here - I knew this was our last chance for a reasonably sized iPhone. Guess I'll be hanging on to this thing for awhile...
People can buy what they want but 60hz is dated technology. Not about being too cool for anything. I just wouldn’t ever use a 60hz display again. Even the new macs have 120hz now
I hear ya. Now that 8K screens are a thing, I find it impossible to look at anything that is 4K or lower. Gross.
8K screens are not a thing at all. Comparing TVs with phone or Tablets is also a horrible comparison
