I plugged in my 14 pro max and the issue I’ve been having is that the caller doesn’t route to the car speakers. Only my phone. Anyone else?

I’ve experienced a lot more crappy bugs in my new iPhone 14 pro. Apple is losing it
Same…. Upgraded from iPhone mini 12.
Loved the mini, would have chosen a 14 mini… wanted to get pleasantly surprised by the 14 Pro.
Got the leather Apple Magsafe cover to help the larger formfactor to slide into my pockets.

I never expected that the 14 Pro would be that heavy.
On the software-side, I am struggling with WeatherPro. It just does not allow me to share my location. System and privacy settings allow it, the app shows I can activate it, so I do so, but after looking into the app’s settings again after enabling it, Location is off again.
Deleted and reinstalled app, rebooted iPhone, removed device from my account, activated again… no avail. Simply won’t allow me to use location services.

Easy and arguably rational to dismiss these issues as expected teething problems, but it’s fast becoming the norm at New Apple. They’ve been on the slow and winding road to mediocrity for a long time. To the point where I now expect this kind of thing with everything they do. Old, run-of-the-mill iPhones running older OS versions will be worth a fortune on eBay in a few years…

So in cases like the iPhone 14, where they have a truly brand new feature - dynamic island - you’d want them to have like an iOS 15.7 for 4 months just to support that? If anything I’d say flip your theory and say new OS in September and new device in January
Yeah, but then Apple would miss the holidays. Maybe it would be better to go back to a new iPhone release in June like back in the day and new OS in September so people who got a new iPhone over the summer will have the option to wait to update their devices instead of experiencing a buggy new iOS release as soon as they turn it on.

Help me make sense of this. Launch a new iPhone with an older iOS? It’s never been done lol
Well, another option could be to release a new OS three months before a new iPhone is released so hopefully by then, most of the bugs would’ve been fixed. People can actually do that now by waiting until November or December to purchase the phone.

Finally, finally, finally the awareness and the bad press. Finally!! I have been waiting for a decade for a wake up call about their software turning into absolute rubbish. I love it.

Maybe something to do with dual band GPS? https://www.macrumors.com/2022/09/10/iphone-14-pro-dual-frequency-gps/

I’ve been saying this for years. I don’t understand why the **** does Craig have a job there. Everything that has to do with software is such a ****ing mess
It's the same 'ol issue that has been plaguing apple since after snow leopard...
They focus on new features, instead of fixing the glitches (which have piled up to be many), same thing Adobe.
I use After Effects for my livelyhood, and there are some nonesensical errors that have never been fixed since After Effects' inception (1992), but they never shy at the chance to add a million features each time and break plugin compatibility...

The last somewhat stable release of macOS I remember was High Sierra (and still not perfect); I haven't had an iPhone before 2019, so I don't know, but I remember iOS 14 being fairly stable.

Working fine on my BMW wireless CarPlay, loud and clear was the response when asked. iPhone was in my back pocket during the call.

I can get behind this. To be fair I’ve been beta testing the newer iOS and it’s been great!

I'd imagine apple will release that so called "update" just one day after the return period for those who got the phone on the 16th (like myself), to avoid as many returns.

I'm waiting until tuesday to see if the patch will fix some of the issues with my unit; if not I'm afraid I'll return mine and buy a replacement (thankfully I still have my regular 13 to use in the meantime).

What is a bit worrying is that the bugs arn't affecting all new devices which could indicate uneven quality but "hopefully" it is only upgrade issues like old settings not having been accounted for or non-standard code in the 3rd party devices/software.
It must be difficult being a test manager at Apple and helpful with the public beta program.

I’d have been ok with this if they hadn’t removed physical SIM support and if there was no PWM.

I wonder if the phone microphone is being used instead of the car's, if someone can try bringing the phone close to their mouth when they talk and see if that works.

I have the iPhone 14 Pro ordered to be delivered between the 3rd and the 10th of October, I am getting worried about this, never before have I seen such a bug ridden iPhone on release. Gone are the days when people can say that Apple are slow to release features because they get it right first. "It just works" is a long, long time ago. This phone certainly looks like a lemon.

Before all the hate rains down, I am typing this on a Mac Book Air M2, I have iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad mini, Air Pod Pro, iPhone 13 Pro and my wife has an iPhone XR, all working flawlessly.

Too bad Apple wouldn't separate the launch of a new iOS and a new iPhone.
It would be better to launch a new iOS in January and a new phone in September.

Would not work for the new features, like Dynamic Island, always-on screen, etc. 🤷🏻‍♂️
