Same…. Upgraded from iPhone mini 12.
Loved the mini, would have chosen a 14 mini… wanted to get pleasantly surprised by the 14 Pro.
Got the leather Apple Magsafe cover to help the larger formfactor to slide into my pockets.

I never expected that the 14 Pro would be that heavy.
On the software-side, I am struggling with WeatherPro. It just does not allow me to share my location. System and privacy settings allow it, the app shows I can activate it, so I do so, but after looking into the app’s settings again after enabling it, Location is off again.
Deleted and reinstalled app, rebooted iPhone, removed device from my account, activated again… no avail. Simply won’t allow me to use location services.

Compared to 12-13 mini, iPhone 14 Pro, just as iPhone 12-13 Pro before it, are, indeed, larger and heavier. Pro Max is a rock, requiring a small trolley for transportation. ;)

This is a physical fact and a smarter upgrade decision, IMHO, could be getting 13 mini instead, which is now also costing less (in the US anyway).

WeatherPro is a third party app, so should sort out any remaining iOS 16 bugs shortly. ✋

I've been having these problems with my iPhone 13 Pro Max and wired CarPlay since I updated to iOS 16. For instance, Siri can't understand me when asking her to play particular album or artist (while that used to be working good before) or even won't hear me at all when saying "Hey Siri", also people complain they cannot hear me well. Basically the problem described here. Anyone having issues like that with their 13 Pro Maxes? It's a very recent 13 Pro Max, bought it 3 months ago, probably a newer chip that is the same as in 14 Pro?

So in cases like the iPhone 14, where they have a truly brand new feature - dynamic island - you’d want them to have like an iOS 15.7 for 4 months just to support that? If anything I’d say flip your theory and say new OS in September and new device in January
The base idea isn't too bad.

Maybe a new OS every two years?

They have already released iPhones SE with a .X iOS version.

About dynamic island, they could either only release the new iPhones' novelty (and avoid cahnging anything else), or use the gap years to release the equivalent of the old S versions.

Cheer up apple peeps.
At least You can maroon yourselves on dynamic island.
Just keep an eye on the new/improved dead battery widget. 😁 (hope that's working ok)

Is anyone else having issues with Airpods Max (Or other airpods) not auto-switching between devices?
I recently upgraded to the new 14 pro max 256gb and currently own a ipad pro from a couple of years ago, i can connect the airpods to both devices individually by manually selecting the airpods under the bluetooth settings, yet when i go to play music on the other device, the airpods dont switch and the music plays on the in built speakers on the other device. All devices have the latest firmware, been turned off/ on and i've resetted the airpods max multiple times, and i dont have family sharing. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same issue or if it's due to an unknown software bug or that ipad hasn't been updated to ios 16?

It's an opportunity to feel good, having a wee bit of power and agency (that's others lacking) by lashing out at some company or person.

The new normal on the internet.
Not necessarily (though there is some schadenfreude I admit).
Prices of these devices are going through the roof and people really do feel disappointed.

Human nature, been that way long before the internet was a twinkle in anyone's eye.

Feel sorry for the iPhone 14 Pro owners. I wouldn't be happy.

Apple will say they're making calls wrong soon.

I have this issue, bit annoying when you pay so much for a phone and a basic feature dosn't work. Do they not test stuff? I hope they fix it soon.

Yeah. It’s not like Catalina had bugs. Or Lion. Or iOS 7. This needs to stop being posted in every single thread. Is there proof work from home is the cause?
The "this is because work from home" kinda comment in every iPhone 14 Pro problem thread is getting a bit old and rancid. But let's not pretend Lion or other OSses/product launch were as bad like this one. They may had one major bug and some minor ones/unstability problems, but when did you see a product launch having so many serious problems in basic functions? Camera rattling and slow app, phone calls on car play, backup transfers freezing the whole phone, airdrop problems, iMessages and FaceTime calls problems, undesired copy-paste behaviour, lighting transfering enormous RAW images at USB 2.0 speeds... If we add that the only "shocking" news for this iPhone are the pill shaped notch, the crash detection and some camera improvements compared to the 13 (which was already pretty similar to 12), it just makes it worse.

and from my side i was claiming to kia the issue.
i can reproduce the issue only if the called party is it also with carplay, many people claiming this to me, they are not able to hear me. i didn’t test it with 16.1 beta2 anyway, will test today
Beta 2 doesn't appear to fix this issue. I tried it last night.

I wonder if the phone microphone is being used instead of the car's, if someone can try bringing the phone close to their mouth when they talk and see if that works.
I've tested that in my car and the car's microphone is definitely being used.
