It didn’t fix it for us either. Please provide feedback to Apple. https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone/iOS 16.0.2 did nothing for this issue for me.

Same for cars. When you buy a car for $125,000 it should guarantee and long and trouble free life...correct? Wish it did work that way, but it doesn't.I think the biggest difference here is that a phone isn’t free or available for a couple hundred dollars as they were back then. When you’re talking $1,500 for a freakin’ phone, the expectations are naturally higher — as should be those of the developers and testers…
Have the same problem with my new iPhone 14 pro Max, I'm using with a pioneer AvH 2300. I updated to iOS 16.0.2 just to see if it would help, but it does not help at all, people I call say that I sound very far away when I was using it same setup i used with my iPhone 12 pro Max ( the lightning cable connected to USB to initiate CarPlay) no one ever complained about the microphone being too low on IPhone 12 pro Max. if you have to make a call until apple gets this fixed you can just connect with Bluetooth it won't be through CarPlay but at least the people will be able to hear you. I'm pretty sure it's some sort of iOS issue that will hopefully be fixed as people say on here but currently it's still not fixed as of 16.0.2 and the lady with apple support denied that there was any kind of issue although I've seen hundreds of reports of this through different formats such as Mac rumors and Reddit etc. People, you should keep calling apple and complaining maybe they'll do something about it. I put my time in, she denied it but did tell me if I made a video I could go up to a higher level of support of course my wife has a 14 also so I would have to use her 12 to make a video and then e-mail it to myself so that I can send it to apple. Ridiculous.
Following the launch of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max last week, some early adopters of the devices said they have experienced an issue that prevents them from being heard at a suitable volume during phone calls initiated via CarPlay in a vehicle.

Affected users have documented this problem across the MacRumors Forums, Reddit, Twitter, and the Apple Support Community over the past three to four days. Most of the users said that after calling someone via CarPlay with an iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max, their voice sounded quiet or far away on the receiving end of the call.
The majority of complaints are from users with an iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max running iOS 16.0.1, but at least one user said the issue also appears to affect the standard iPhone 14, and there are also comments claiming that downgrading to iOS 16.0 does not help.
MacRumors was able to reproduce the issue by making a phone call via wired CarPlay in a 2022 Honda Civic with an iPhone 14 Pro running iOS 16.0.1. The issue did not occur with a regular hands-free Bluetooth call with the same device in the vehicle.
It's unclear what the cause of the issue is or how many users are affected, but it seems to be yet another bug affecting iPhone 14 models. Apple is already planning to release an iOS 16 update next week with fixes for issues with the rear camera on iPhone 14 Pro models vibrating uncontrollably in select apps, iPhone 14 Pro models freezing after a data transfer from another iPhone, and excessive copy and paste permission prompts.
We reached out to Apple to ask if it is aware of this issue, but the company did not immediately respond to our request for comment. We will share any additional information about this issue, including any response from Apple, as it becomes available.

What does working from home have to do with anything?Work from home they said. It’ll be fun they said.
Apples to oranges comparison. A $125k car that has issues with a heated steering malfunctioning for e.g. Is pretty uncommon, but even if it happens it’s taken care off expediently. Nor talking about something major like a car breakdown.Same for cars. When you buy a car for $125,000 it should guarantee and long and trouble free life...correct? Fingers crossed.I think iOS 16.1 beta 3 has fixed the low call volume issue for me. My gf and I just finished testing it with CarPlay and all seems right again.
Apple missed “you’re holding it wrong”, bugs aren’t always detected. Ask Microsoft, they have years of experience.Apples to oranges comparison. these bugs should have detected by Apple, a few are ok, but this time with the camera vibrations, and other issues they’re adding up.
