I’m glad you don’t but apparently enough people do that Macrumors has been talking about those things all week.
Yes, Macrumors talks about all issues and they should and apple should resolve them.
Haven’t heard about any problems with Dynamic Island. Well except for the Reachability thing. Which again was simply because the rest of the system wasn’t quite finished when it shipped.

Generally I agree except that no one expects 100 percent perfect, and in this case 5% of what is presumably a pretty small sample size is actually pretty high. I don’t think Apple is shooting for 5% of people having severe issues like activation or unusable camera. I don’t consider activation to be a small issue, so that means 15% even in this informal poll.

I’m not disagreeing with you, just from my perspective of how buggy 16 has been on my 13 Pro, I tend to see the problems more because I’m having other problems as well that aren’t even being reported on.

My only point is that Apple really needs to slow down with splashy unnecessary (necessary only for the sake of marketing) features like Dynamic Island, and have a Snow Leopard year where they just fix all the stuff they’ve rushed out the last few years. There’s plenty of low hanging fruit for a year like that. How about just letting me put my icons where I want them without enforcing a top left oriented grid? That should be quick and easy and get a standing ovation.
I’d rather have dynamic island than free icon placement. If we are picking one over another. I like the grid like placement on the Home Screen.

Have this problem too. I guess 16.1 is the real launch and we just paid for Tim’s new boat.

The "this is because work from home" kinda comment in every iPhone 14 Pro problem thread is getting a bit old and rancid. But let's not pretend Lion or other OSses/product launch were as bad like this one. They may had one major bug and some minor ones/unstability problems, but when did you see a product launch having so many serious problems in basic functions? Camera rattling and slow app, phone calls on car play, backup transfers freezing the whole phone, airdrop problems, iMessages and FaceTime calls problems, undesired copy-paste behaviour, lighting transfering enormous RAW images at USB 2.0 speeds... If we add that the only "shocking" news for this iPhone are the pill shaped notch, the crash detection and some camera improvements compared to the 13 (which was already pretty similar to 12), it just makes it worse.
Yes they were. Hello snow leopard deleting all my files? Hello Catalina having 5 kernel panics a day and Apple confirmed it was an OS issue not my computer?

Yes. The evidence is that Tim Cook is adamant about workers returning to the office despite it being unpopular inside Apple. If Tim Cook sees data that productivity has been better with a remote workforce, he wouldn't be doing this.

Right. Zero bugs existed before 2020. I didn’t lose all my data via Snow Leopard or my computer was unusable with Catalina due to 5 kernel panics a day. Both of which were bugs.

Just because Tim wants people in the office doesn’t mean these bugs are due to WFH.

Did not have much time on 16 on my 13 ProMax (3 days) so did not see problems you undoubtedly found. Will see now at least in my experience no problems but I am betting the car play issues with low/no voice from the microphone may be there. And we agree it seems they have more and more bugs trying to rush with latest and greatest software implementation and of course new iOS with new phone I like the idea of off cycle of software from new phone but with new big features each year on new phones pretty much forces a new iOS or major iOS upgrade translating to tests and missed bugs LOL

Because he’s a brilliant software engineer who’s high up in a company built on software engineering. There’s bugs with every single software release. I haven’t had any issues with iOS16 and my 14 Peo. Not with CarPlay, battery drain or otherwise
He's an incompetent fool who's overseen operating system releases that have been PLAGUED with bugs and fatal errors ever since he was put in charge. Every Apple software update has people waiting til a .1 release or later to be even remotely stable & useable.

And thankfully, I haven't had any of them. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones.
So you have CarPlay and an iPhone 14 Pro and don’t experience the CarPlay bug? Or do you not have CarPlay and therefore can’t test it?

Yep. Something needs to change. It’s not work from home. It’s not we are suddenly waiting for .1 releases since 2020. This has been a long term issue.

Jeez, the list of issues with iPhone 14 is ridiculous! I don't think I've seen so many issues that are due to a particular iPhone and not the version of iOS.

Glad I didn't buy an iPhone 14.

No issues with my iPhone (12 Pro Max) and 16.0 using CarPlay.
This seems to only be affecting CarPlay and iPhone 14 devices. Count yourself lucky. My wife called me from here’s on wired CarPlay with her 14 and even if Max volume I could barely hear her. Older devices in family on iOS 16 seem fine.

Yeah, it doesn’t currently have it, but I’m hoping they can add the bug fix before the final build. Or better yet, put it in 16.0.2.
For anyone that is having the problem be sure and report it here https://www.apple.com/feedback/

Good god, how many issues are we up to now? Like six since launch?

None of these seem to be effecting any devices other than the iPhone 14 Pro (loving iOS 16 on my 13 Pro). Seems like the simultaneous development of new hardware and software is becoming problematic.

You don’t usually see these messy launches with the iPads/MacBooks that get launched in the Spring.
This
Adding CC to AP
Activating eSIMS
GPS
Bricking on update
Probably forgetting some others...

Not my third gen 12.9 iPad Pro. It has this with the 15.7 pre 16 update. Very annoying as I often leave my phone in room at evening and answer video, audio and phone calls from my phone including my previous 13 ProMax with 15.6. Updates after 15.6 seems to be messing with microphones it seems to me. Have not tested carplay yet with my 14 which so far has no problems but tend to not use around town. Calls via Bluetooth from my Mazda are actually louder than my 13. I installed 16.1 betas 2 last night to see if it is fixed haven’t had time for testing with a call on it yet

While my Bluetooth in my Mazda seems to be fine - it also has had some weirdness. Was driving using Waze and using Overcast for podcast listening and Waze tried to interject with voice guidance, then a Bluetooth call activated and somehow the Overcast Podcast audio literally got routed into the phone call. Never had anything like it. Had to reboot iPhone 14 Pro Max while driving to get the audio to route correctly again.

Interesting I don’t use Waze myself

Very happy with the pro max and iOS 16. So glad I took the plunge. This was t the first release where some experienced some issues and won’t be the last.

iPhone 15 and ios 17 will be the best phone ever. And still some will experience some issues.

Ok had some time with carplay on my 14 ProMax with 16.01. Absolutely no problems in my wife hearing me. So that’s absolutely no 14 ProMax problems for me. So wondering still what the precursor 15.7 did to my iPad Pro microphone.

Finally got to test this out today with my 14 Pro Max and both phone calls I made using my Car Play - one to a land line phone and one to an 11 Pro Max each using Charter/Spectrum service - exhibited my voice being very hard to hear on the other end. So I am definitely having this problem.

Happens with the release of every Apple product on here. Even back to the iPod there’s posts about problems at launch. Macrumors and other forums are echo chambers for this stuff, in reality millions of devices have been sold and only a tiny fraction of those will have problems. In other words, don’t get your knickers in a twist about it.
