Right direction, but not good enough for me as an owner of an iPhone Mini (135 grams).

There are some serious ease of use I miss from my iPhone 13 mini (and I still have the 12 mini, not yet sold) - which my next post in teh alternatives forum I'll expand upon. I've just gotten used to the Galaxy S23's 6.1" screen & size, so if the overall weight and size is comparable I'm still within my 30 days return window with my carrier.

Update: Size comparison of 15 Pro demensions vs S23 (non-ultra)
Thickness: 8.25mm vs 7.6mm
Length: 146.6mm vs 146.3mm
Width: 70.6mm vs 70.9mm
Weight: 188 grams vs 168 g(5.93oz)
^ very nice comparison which in the hand I can be comfortable with.

The iPhone 15 being slightly wider and shorter (even by mm) is a welcome change).

At least the smaller bezels in proportion to its size is welcome and will finally match the iPhone 13 mini which had that over all the other iPhones. A bonus to its design that wa slost on many of us.

Back to main conversation:

Why still no concrete information of TB3/4 speeds or USB4 confirmation?! This would be an industry first and as I've stated/predicted would be a HUGE bonus for photographers or video-editors if camera photo and video settings saved from their respective software could be uploaded to the iPhone for rapid selection and use would minimize overal edit times significantly. Imagine that?!

PS: I stated the adove of camera settings some 9 months ago.

They are not rounded like the iPhone 6 or X. The sides are still flat. It’s just the edges that are a bit less sharp and a bit more rounded.

14 on the left, 15 on the right (leaked dummy):

I find that annoying. It’s almost like Apple saying oh the iPhone 6 design wasn’t so bad after all, let’s head back in that direction just a little bit. When in fact it was very bad, in my humble opinion. I much prefer the harsher edges of the 14.

I also prefer the flat design (the 6 was slippery like a soap bar), but I don’t think it’s bad to make the edges marginally more rounded.

I always had a case on my phone, which adds more thickness, and I don’t like the ultra thin cases I like something with protection so I’m not gonna really feel the difference. But when I get my phone I’m going to wait until case manufactures work out the kinks I remember the first cases I got for my 12 mute switch hole was off some

Now we need pics of your Mr. Roborovsky
Sadly I don't have any readily available to upload. I think I have a couple in an album somewhere in storage. He was my pet in the early 90's.

But here's a photo of one to give everyone an idea of how tiny they are:

That one is actually a bit whiter and fatter than I remember my hamster being.

Edit: this one looks more like my Spike did:

I prefer the completely rounded sides of my iPhone 11 Pro Max to the flat edged design of the 12, 13 & 14 Pros. But it’s time for me to upgrade. Even tho the 15 Pro Max will keep the flat edged design, I’m happy to hear that the top edge where the screen meets the side will be slightly rounded. I just find a rounded edge more comfortable to hold.

For me, thicker phone is less flattering in pocket of high quality or tailored pants. But since most people are weak and fat, a lighter phone will be improvement in their baggy pants and for their weak hands to lift. Of course, since so many here bought massive ultra watch, maybe muscles grew a little. Is possible.

less weight, less height, less width at the same displays size , everything matters at this point
All my senses are top notch so for me when everything gets reduced, its awesome...we had enough of going big and big and heavier
That's what Nokia said 20 years ago...

Exactly - since when is <10% difference, "substantial"?

IDK… When iPhone Pro increased 2 grams from the 13 to the 14, these forms were filled with complaints about the heavier device. Some felt Apple had lost their way. Others called for Tim’s resignation. At least one person mentioned Steve. Those 2 grams, as it turned out, were pretty substantial.

Based on that math, an 18 gram reduction in weight, for a thicker device, is going to be a big deal. So much so that it will be more than a line item on a spec slide. There will be a gorgeous video detailing the advancements required for manufacturing such a light (and strong) iPhone. Apple definitely sees it as a big deal - possibly the biggest deal behind the camera improvements on the Max.

I’ve used all but a couple of iterations (the 7 & 8) of iPhone since the ‘07 debut. My 14 Pro is heavy. I am certain to instantly notice and appreciate an 18 gram reduction in weight of a 15 Pro. Works for me.

So the PM is 19 grams lighter… likely not noticeable for me…
I think people will be surprised by how noticeable the weight difference is. Sure, 19 grams doesn't sound like a lot. But 240 grams was pretty light to begin with. I'm sure you'd notice the difference between a 23 and 25 weight dumbbell, which is the same difference percentage wise.

I work in healthcare and wear gloves most of the time. At least FaceID works when wearing gloves/ masks.

I work in healthcare too. TouchID works though nitrile gloves.

FaceID doesn't work when I'm wearing a bouffant, safety glasses and a mask.

I went from an iPhone X to iPhone 14 promax. There is a big difference between these two. But on the other hand I don’t mind the extra weight. And if I have to pay that much more for titanium forget it

Yes, it may not sound like much, but if my calculations are correct, if you’re a heavy user like I am it’s 209.4 pounds LESS weight you’ll be lifting per day.

All our biceps will be given a break..

There is a rumor that the Pro Max will be $100 more expensive but it seems that is not for the titanium as the regular Pro is also titanium and is not rumored to cost more this time.

I think the price increase is an attempt to profit off those who must have the periscope lens. If it were the Ti, you’d think we’d see a hike in the 15 Pro as well.

Edit: Ha. @Tagbert beat me to it. 😂

Still wish they would have kept the 5.8" screen of the Xs and when they reduce the bezels they also reduce the physical size of the phone instead of increasing the screen size (and the physical size) going forward. Oh well, keeping with the 13 mini until I can't I guess.
Just the other day, I pulled out a 3G and a 4s to see if they would charge/boot. They did. But what I was most struck by, was how small they were - almost ridiculously small. Because of that size, they were way more pocket-friendly. Was wild to see the difference between them and my 14 Pro.

I doubt if you can tell the difference between one iPhone and another that's 0.4 mm thicker by look or feel.
I suspect I could, but it really doesn't matter, I'd like a smaller phone, so it goes against that.

And what other negatives are you referring to?
Money, not much different from my 14Pro, and it's a tired design to me.

The Pro and Pro Max will reportedly have a faster processor,
That doesn't interest me, they haven't been slow for a LONG time.

longer battery life,
No concrete evidence on that, and really not even a decent rumor. Just because it's a 3nm chip doesn't necessarily mean that as well. My 14 Pro sucked at battery life, and if the new one is significantly better, that would be a selling point for me.

significantly quicker data transfer,
Again, no good rumors on that yet. In fact, most are saying it's still USB 2 speed. :(

a faster 5G modem,
Not an interest. Too far from a major city to get the really fast 5G, so it's all LTE speed here.

Qi2 charging, and camera improvements.
Totally not an interest.
(I'm reserving judgment on the action button until I see how it works.)
It could be good, it could be bad, hard to tell. I hate the switch as it was, but if the new one is programmable (especially as to when it's active and when it's not), it might be a good thing.

Weight is the biggest definite positive for me, but I don't think it's enough, yet.
