I had the same issue last night when I tried to do the pre-order pre-order.I added the phone to my cart applied my gift card balance and put the rest on a credit card and when I tried to save it, it reverted to a full credit card payment. I then deleted it from my account and tried over and the same issue happened. I had over $500 on my gift card balance, and was frustrated. I called in last night and they said don’t worry that when you place the order tomorrow your gift card balance will work… And it did. I just wasn’t able to do it all before hand though.
I tried a couple times to apply a small ($165) gift card. No option at opening either Apple Pay or credit card. Ended up with the full amount on amex. I'll try and message later/tomorrow to see if they can apply it to the order. Glad to get it for store pickup on 22nd either way!

CC declined my transaction and then asked if I authorized this.....

WTH, hope this doesn't change my ship date!
Have you checked your order? You might have to click a link to re-enter your credit card information but you’ll keep your ship date.

I am livid. Up at 5am per usual and order using my Apple account balance. It won’t take it and trying to charge as a credit card. Call Apple yeah we know about it. Trying to push it through by switching me to a team member that can do it. Disconnected. After hour and a half wait. This is the worst ever. Never had this problem before. I am on hold again calling back for another 50 min wait. Apple screwed so many for launch day using Apple balance. Showing Oct 9-16 now.

Never EVER again will I use Apple balance again after this on a pre order.
lmao gotem

Last time I had that same issue. It didn't like Apple Pay, so I avoided it this year by choosing a different card. They probably don't want to pay back that 3% cash back. 3% of 1,000,000 iPhones sold today is a lot of $$$$$$$$$
Yeh I finally just gave up. Initially I had a 9/22 delivery but with all the Apple Card fails it defaulted to end of October. Grrrr

I’m just cancelling the whole order. I guess apple doesn’t need my $1800 (15PM 1tb phone, case, cord and adapter)

Guess I’ll stay with the 12PM that’s still got life in it lol

Yes people will say first world problems blah blah blah, but dang your experience was terrible

We are a funny lot when it comes to colours, no? I have really enjoyed my Sierra Blue Pro Max 13 and am hoping I will be pleased with the new Titanium Blue I just ordered. But more to the point, I have decided *not* to buy an Apple Watch 9 for myself and upgrade from the beautiful blue Apple Watch Series 7 with a blue/green two-tone band I am now wearing, simply —and oddly enough— because I don't care for any of the colours they offer this year. This blue Series 7 is such a stunning colour IMO.
Yes, a funny lot indeed. I have a blue series 6 watch I’m not upgrading because it still does what I need. Hoping blue will be part of the lineup next year

First world problems are OK IF YOU ARE LIVING IN THE FIRST WORLD.. jeez, why dont people get this
Ignore people that say that. It is akin to being told as a kid "Finish your plate, people are starving in X" as if the food was going to go to them if I didn't try and eat more when already full.

12PM is still a really good phone in spite of what people on social might say, but sorry to hear that. That really sucks. Maybe it's a blessing if you hold off until the Black Friday sales. You might get a gift card and the 3% cash back.

Really bad preorder process. Could not get in for 21 minutes. Had MacBook, iPhone and iPad Pro set up. Finally got in via the web (usually the app is best). Got to the purchase button and it did not work. Got multiple errors using the app. Finally ordered my upgrade but got an Oct 6 delivery date so I placed an outright purchase order for store pick up for Sept 22 which worked. I will cancel the delivery order and have the retail team switch my store pickup to my upgrade. It's a hassle but it works. Trying to keep my perfect string of launch day orders since 2007! :).

I think this is the first time the app has ever failed me on pre-order day. Pre-ordering hasn’t been this bad for me since the iPhone 6.
Same. Initial pre-ordering is always a crapshoot. I've had better luck walking into a store on launch day most years, which completely defeats the purpose of a pre-order. The best time was a couple years ago (13 Pro) when UPS delivered to the wrong address, I called them when I saw it was delivered and I didn't have it, the UPS guy decided to pick it back up and go to a whole different part of town to complete a route when he could have just given it to me a few doors down, and I had to get his personal cell number from a manager to stalk him and get my phone. That was so fun.

Yeh thanks. I tried one last time (it failed too) and the delivery window was already pushed back to mid-November lol!

Moving on with my life now.

Have fun the rest of you smooth sailing buyers. ;)

Same for me.

I think I will skip the iPhone 15 Pro Max for now if I have to wait 2 whole months.

My iPhone 11 Pro Max has much better real world battery life in any case by the sounds of it.

So the black titanium and blue titanium models have slipped to October for the Pro Max and the natural titanium and white titanium models have slipped to November… Interesting.

Apple is now accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max through its online storefront and the Apple Store app. The Apple Store app is typically the quickest way to get a pre-order in as it is often accessible before the website comes up.

Pre-orders are being accepted in more than 40 countries and regions around the world, and those who used Apple's "Get Ready" feature should be able to hit a button to get their orders in without hassle.

Pricing on the iPhone 15 starts at $799 or $33.29 per month in the United States, while pricing on the iPhone 15 Plus starts at $899 or $37.45 per month. The iPhone 15 Pro is available starting at $999 or $41.62 per month, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max is available starting at $1,199 or $49.95 per month. Pricing will vary depending on country.

The lowest-priced iPhone 15, 15 Plus, and 15 Pro Max models have 128GB of storage, but the iPhone 15 Pro Max starts with 256GB of storage. Storage upgrades are available for an increased price, with up to 1TB of storage available. Apple is encouraging customers to use trade-in credits to lower the price of the new iPhone models, and it is also promoting carrier deals from AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile in the U.S.

All of the iPhone 15 models are equipped with USB-C ports, the Dynamic Island, a new Ultra Wideband chip, Qualcomm 5G modems, and a range of camera updates. The more affordable iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have an A16 chip, an aluminum frame, and a frosted glass back, as well as a new 48-megapixel Main camera. There have been updates to Portrait mode, Night mode, and general improvements to image quality thanks to Smart HDR updates.

The iPhone 15 Pro models feature a new titanium frame that makes them much lighter than prior-generation models, with titanium also offering increased strength and durability. Apple replaced the mute switch with an Action button that can be customized with a number of functions, and display bezels have been slimmed down.

Pro models are also equipped with a faster A17 Pro chip with major GPU improvements that enable them to play console-level games, and they feature all of the camera improvements from the iPhone 15 models, plus more.

Both models have improved Ultra Wide cameras, and while the iPhone 15 Pro still has a 3x Telephoto lens, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a new tetraprism mechanism for its Telephoto lens, enabling 5x optical zoom.

It's not yet clear on whether there will be shortages of the new iPhone models, but it is a good idea to pre-order right away just in case. There were rumors of production difficulties with the iPhone 15 Pro Max, so it is possible it will sell out. The 5x zoom lens, the new titanium material, and the A17 Pro chip make it especially enticing.

U.S. carriers like Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile are accepting preorders for the new devices, as are other carriers worldwide. Big box retailers like Best Buy, Target, and Walmart have pre-orders available too.

Customers who pre-order one of the iPhone 15 models can expect to begin receiving their deliveries on Friday, September 22, the official launch date for the new devices.

November ? Literally a slow boat from China

This. Which is an effect of the yearly upgrade cycle I guess. For the amount you pay you want to maximise the 'current version' life span. It's probably just a silly mindset thing, but it's a thing none the less. On the plus side it means im getting ever better value out of my 13 Pro :)

Did you get through using the mobile app or website? The mobile app was a failure for me.
Mobile app, had two different devices going and finally got in. Crazy to think if it were a few minutes longer it likely would have been past launch week.

Yessssss! I’m in the same position. I’m one of the rare breeds nowadays whom downloads Apple Music files so that when I’m on the NYC subway or somewhere with no service, I can still listen to music. That’s why I got the 1TB version.
Wow how much music do you listen to. Ive downloaded 50gbs and I don’t think I’ve ever gone through even half of it when away from cellular

Me, when I went down to 512GB it killed me not to have access to a lot of my music because I was in the countryside, or a NYC dead spot, or on a plane, or in a tunnel, or any day when cell coverage just decided to go away.
I have 50gigs downloaded and I’ve never gone through it all. 512 let alone 1 tb seems a lot for music

came late to the party because stuck at the apple logo page.

after awhile frantically made the purchase and gotten a 2nd week wave (27th to 30th september)

overall the experience was not as smooth as previous years ordering at launch dates.

no idea whatever queue system that they implemented but knowing some people gets access earlier than others randomly annoys the hell out of me.

glad that i have the chance to make a second order for pickup at 22nd
