Yes, yes and yes! I can't believe all the fuss over $100 or so extra for the 15. Why should a better, higher-tech and more expensive to make product always cost the same? That's nuts! I predict huge sales, and the cheapskates can always go to low-end Android and save their precious dollars.

I'm upgrading. I have the X. It's time.
I can see why some people won't be upgrading. Phones now are fast enough and do what most people want and how much better does the camera need to be to post a selfie or picture on social media for most people so they don't upgrade.
I think phones have about reached their flat point for the most part.

Not sure the premise of the article matches the question asked in the headline. I'm definitely upgrading from my iPhone 12, but not necessarily to the 15, and the choice probably depends a lot on how you normally buy a phone where you live. On a plan here in Ontario, Canada, depending on the subsidized price difference between a 15 pro and 14 pro (if I can find the 14 at the launch of the 15), I might go either way. But I don't think I'll ride with my 12 for another year, even though there's nothing particularly wrong with it, because the Dynamic Island alone is worth the move and what I'm already paying monthly probably wouldn't change.

I haven’t decided, but while I’m leaning towards no, but it depends on the camera sensor and how much better it is. The iPhone 14 is pretty great already and takes phenomenal photos.

My iPhone 13 Pro is on 87% battery health and has a cracked display. If the 15 Pro is lighter, has a significant battery upgrade and feels good in the hand I may get it. I am intrigued to see what it actually looks like because the leaks and renders never look as good as Apple's official marketing images.

I don't like the camera bump and overall increased device weight/thickness that has been happening year on year.

I’m more than happy with my 14 pro and I’m planning on getting off the upgrade train this year and keep it for another year.

Whether I’ll feel the same way come September is another matter though!

Oh yeah! Still on my 12 because I've refused to buy another iPhone until they switched to USB-C. Couldn't stand the pros because of the weight of the steel, but will def go for a pro if the titanium rumors are true.

Good news...

iPhone 14 line had a huge price hike in Europe and I don’t see it as much as other phones on the streets here, BUT, Amazon has been having regular price drops from 1099€ to the usual, more familiar 849€, for the base model of the standard 14. So if it keeps on having these huge price cuts from the ridiculous 1099, then maybe my partner will upgrade his 11. As for me, I’m very happy with my 13 mini and will use it until it can’t run anymore. There is absolutely no need for a Pro for me as I use a full frame camera that costs more than a Pro for my photo/video needs anyway.

No mini? No interest from me. I know I'm shouting at the wind, but I really do feel like Apple nailed the ideal size for an iPhone early in its run.

I held out for seven generations from the iPhone 5s until I finally gave up and bought an iPhone 11. While I loved the new features (e.g. FaceID, camera improvements, all-screen design, OLED, etc.), I hated the rest: the round edges, how big it was in my hand, my inability to use it with one hand, how the lack of tactile interest left it bereft of character.

I couldn't justify pulling the trigger again a mere year later when the iPhone 12 mini was announced, but I did with the iPhone 13 mini. And if not for its use of Lightning instead of USB-C, the iPhone 13 mini would already be perfect.

The wait for a marquee iPhone mini continues...
Same, I had iPhone 8 for years and not planning to get rid of my 13 mini for as long as possible. iPhone 11 was the worst design for me. it was the ugliest, biggest and least useable phone for me. And I know what I’m talking about because I have it in my household.

I’m wanting to. First time I’ve gone 3 years with a phone. I used to be on 2 year cycle but phones haven’t changed much 3 years seems good to me.
looking to upgrade my 12p max

Apple continue to recycle an older design language much like the iMac did.

The iphone is getting old & boring & too costly, hence my reason to not to update my 12 pro max.

I have to agree with many others that ios is starting to feel a bit wonky. I remember the feeling of getting super excited when the first iphone came out it was something bold and different.

The iphone 15 pro max will be neither bold or different , so i will be hanging on until something new pops up.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo today predicted that demand for the iPhone 15 series will be lower than that of the iPhone 14 series this year. Kuo said the lower demand could make it challenging for Apple suppliers to grow revenue in the second half of 2023.

The upcoming iPhone lineup should consist of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. All four models are rumored to be equipped with a USB-C port and the Dynamic Island, which is currently exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro models. Additional features are rumored for the iPhone 15 Pro models, including a faster A17 Bionic chip, titanium frame, customizable Action button, thinner bezels around the display, Wi-Fi 6E support, up to 5-6x optical zoom for the Pro Max camera, and more.

iPhone 15 Pro models will likely cost $100 to $200 more than iPhone 14 Pro models in the U.S., according to Tim Long, an analyst at British bank Barclays. These price increases could temper demand for the devices, especially as some consumers may be reducing their discretionary spending due to above-average inflation over the past few years.

In the end, Kuo's prediction is still just a prediction, and we'll have to wait and see how well the iPhone 15 series sells. The addition of a USB-C port has been a long-awaited feature among tech enthusiasts, and the Dynamic Island expanding to the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus could help to boost sales of those lower-end models.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 15 series in early September. Are you planning to upgrade? Let us know in the comments section.

We upgrade every year. I guess it does cost us to do so, but it's totally worth doing. I like having the latest and I use my iPhone almost every day so why not have the latest if I am spending at least 15 minutes a day on the iPhone right? Oh wait - I use my iPhone for like 7 hours a day :). Life can be too short to be rocking old hardware - we can afford it - so we upgrade.

I’m upgrading because for the first time ever my iPhone lasted me three years. The 12 Pro has been an absolute cracker and if it’s true they’re bringing out another blue then I’m definitely in and most likely a Max to get the battery and telescope.

To be honest if I upgraded the battery on my 12 pro I could probably get another 2 years out of her.

Am I planning to upgrade? Of course not! I have never planned before purchasing anything when it comes to Apple products. If I see a new shinny iPhone I want then I will order it. No planning involved ;)
(This is also why I have made so many wrong purchasing decisions so far but as long as Tim is happy with my cash I guess I’m okay with it)
