I canceled my order for the green one. I'll wait to see how these age. I think I'll like the feel, but the fact it marks up super easily and the marks seem to be permanent really gives me pause. I want to check them out in person first as well.

I always get a bunch of cases, and I have one leather case on the way (Andar), which I used for my 14 Pro, and loved it. Far better quality than Apple's leather cases. I also have a preorder for a bourbon Bullstrap case too, but that won't be coming until late October or early November.

Am I just crazy in thinking that cases are used to keep the phone immaculate and not the case staying super clean?? You guys are anal about this case, you'll be putting a case on your case at this rate.

Relax, take a breath and let the case be a case. I loved the leather but that one too got scratched permanently or stained from use in my experience.

Relaxxxx
A lot of people (myself included), use different cases for aesthetic reasons, and a high quality, good looking and feeling case can just be satisfying. If you're paying $60 for a case, it should have some of those tangible improvements. I like the look of these when new, but if they look like complete crap after 3 weeks of use, it is going to make these just horribly designed and overpriced.

Just received my taupe one and I must say I am pleased with it. Clearly functional and well designed and feels great to hold. Will withhold final judgement until I get the phone on Friday but right now I like it. I do think all cases suffer from wear and tear (my leather Apple ones are showing their age now). And there were similar threads about price, value, durability for the Apple leather cases too, for years now. I will rock it naked unless traveling or biking etc but I think this will work well.. Also ordered the clear one when I want hard protection. My go to cases other than Apple have generally been Vaja cases and even they show wear after a time, plus they add considerable bulk to the phone. This one does not -- very thin and light. But for those of you looking for alternatives check out Vaja. They even have MagSafe wallets in gorgeous colors that hold 7 cards!

I'm I crazy or the black case I have look to have a blue tint to it? And yes, I literally just took it out of the box and it has all the lint on it already.

It’s very odd isn’t it. I think we can all agree they will wear down, like all cases do.

Silicone peels and goes clammy and looks pretty poor eventually.
My Apple leather case, enough said. Looks awful.

The perspective that is getting lost in all the hate is we need to know how they will wear. Nobody can know that until they’ve been out in the wild and used for several months. Nothing can tell us that, not even ‘reviews’ by people who have owned them for a few days. I don‘t care if the material scratches. What I care about is how it will look in 6 months, after it’s been scratched 50 times, plus been rubbed against other materials and gained some dirt and hand oils. The idea of a case staying pristine makes no sense to me, it’s designed to take scuffs so your phone doesn’t.

Now, on the other hand if the case literally falls apart in 6 months and doesn’t protect the phone. That’s another story. The silicone and leather, despite aging badly, do stay together. But given there’s a watch strap made from this material too, you’d like to hope there is some physical robustness - otherwise there will be a lot of watches falling off wrists.

I’ll gladly report back in 6 months, to say if the case aged well (to me) or was my third strike for Apple cases.

Edit for typo.
6 months? How about report back in a week!

Terrible based on reasons that don’t actually involve the actual purpose of the case. A stupid post by the Verge.
I do think the quality and craftsmanship of the case isn't what some would expect from Apple. However, I would much rather live with scratches to the case than the iPhone itself. :)

The latter I agree with. As to the durability, I can't say just yet. I have a FW ready for pick-up on Friday morning. If I find the it is wearing rather quickly, I also have a silicone case for temporary backup until I get the new Bullstrap case and wallet.

1. Too many people on here try to view and treat the case as some of fine art masterpiece. And many early reports are based on such faulty thinking and immediately people want to return because of a fingernail scratch.

2. Too many are expecting a leather look and feel with a product that is not such and never claimed to be an equal in every regard to real leather.

I realize not every Apple product will be a success. FW very well may be a dud as far as durability. I think people who purchased should at least give the product an honest try before singing the woe is me and Appe song. The cases come with a warranty and Apple will refund your money so, there really is no reason to cry foul when a person hasn't even used the product.

Yeah haters gonna hate, I guess. I bought taupe, pacific blue, and a Spigen clear case, but the jury is still out whether or not I'e end up keeping either of the fine woven cases. I've never liked Apple's silicone cases so I may end up returning the fine woven cases and just using the Spigen case until I can find a better alternative to Apple's leather case.

I think I have spent close to $500 on cases and still waiting on my phone. lol I have no problem calling out Apple when it is warranted. I don't believe the FW will hold up as long as real leather but, we will see shortly how real usage unfolds.

After a few days. the silicone does ok as far as lint collection goes. I agree that it doesn't slide in and out of the pocket as easy as leather and some other cases.

I think what we experience here on MR is the extreme side of a small niche user base and not representative of the more calm and objective user base.

That video is garbage, in my opinion. More clickbait waste. Ruining the case on purpose and in a manner that is not normal, is not what I call a good video. It is not something he should be proud of, in my opinion.

Clickbait? It looks you haven’t seen the tests he does to cases, screen protectors and whatnot.

But I guess we are all haters… at the end of the day you’re evangelising and the rest are heretics, are we not?

Finewoven cases are garbage, it’s a fact. Same thing goes for the leather ones of the last 2 years (I can confirm that).

Good day sir.

Agree 100%.

I have seen many of his videos. And just because I called out this video doesn't mean I am a biased hater. FW cases being garbage isn't fact. You have no actual facts to provide. All you have is biased, unused product opinion.

Terrible based on reasons that don’t actually involve the actual purpose of the case.

What is the actual purpose of the case? In my view, the case should be more durable than the phone, not less. Here, it seems the cases are getting more fragile while the phones themselves are getting more durable. Just wait until they start selling wrap kits for the case 😂

I got my iPhone 15 Pro cases today. I have mixed fillings about FineWoven. I really like how it feels. However, I don’t like how dirty it will get. There was already a noticeable smudges on both of them before fulled removed from the packaging. This can be seen in the photos below. I’m not reckless with my phone, but I’m defiantly not delicate with it. It gets tossed in bags, lost in bedding, shoved in pockets, dropped on the floor with a house full of dogs, occasionally handed to a toddler, and has it's fair share of outdoor camping adventures. Using the FineWoven case will make my phone will look very aged after a short month of use. Also, the FineWoven Evergreen color is 2-3 shades darker than expected. It's almost black looking at certain angles. The Silicone Cypress is what I would call Everygreen. That's a perfect shade of green! Both the FineWoven Pacific Blue and Silicone Storm Blue are spot on. I absolutely love both the blue colors. I decided that I am going to return the FineWoven cases and stick with my long-time loved Apple Silicone case. I just wish there were more color options. I’d really love a darker orange/pumpkin color this time of year. I know there are available from 3rd parties, but the Apple Silicone has always felt different/better than others.

Everyone who got a case could you just check the bottom where the usb c port is. Mine has there a little dent. Looks like the material was „married“ there. Just curious if this is the case on every case 😂
Probably just mold marks
