Tried the FW case on a 15 Pro and it works fine but on my 15 Pro Max the volume down button is too easy to press and I kept turning the volume down by mistake. I bought a new 3rd party case and it works fine. I wonder if this is a design flaw? If you have one try lightly resting your finger on the volume buttons and see if the volume down is too sensitive.

Also FW for the 15PM an no such thing with mine. All buttons require the same amount if pressure. QC with these is shocking.

Where are your FineWoven cases made from? China, Thailand, Vietnam? I wonder whether it's a result of poor QA/machinery misalignment from one of their accessory manufacturers.

Mine’s made in China.

OK, now that is bad

Without reading the article I have a feeling they are replaced daily as people go in and scratch them 😂 Oh, the sustainability.

Also seems a bit wasteful. We already know that it will leave a mark, no need for everyone to repeat it and return more damaged cases..

My attitude exactly. It fits the phone great, it feels nice, and I’m interested to see how it wears over time without me scratching it up on purpose with my fingernails.
Well, I'm sorry to say that this comment aged poorly. I spent the weekend with the FineWoven case and noticed the bottom right corner of it was slipping around and not fitting correctly. I had decided to live with it, but then I started seeing some of the early "real world" reviews of it not even being able to handle being put down on a restaurant table without a gross looking stain forming on the case.

I like to stick with Apple cases or a brand sold in the Apple store whenever possible, and I don't mind paying a premium for them because they tend to fit perfectly. I think this one is going to join the butterfly keyboard and iPhone 4 antenna band on my list of things I think could have used a few more weeks in the oven. I just returned mine and got an Apple Silicone case which I've had before and know is nicer and fits better.

I don't understand all the hate for the cases.

I've been using mine since launch day and I actually love it. it doesn't feel cheap to me at all, it feels premium. looks rather premium too. if you look closely at all it almost has a fine denim like texture to it, until you hold it and realize it's a very soft velvety material. I don't feel that combo to be cheap at all

it feels much more premium than apple's silicone cases, which alone are $49.

and to those running their fingernails across the cases and being disappointed at the marks left behind, you do realize that this is not surprising at all? same would happen (maybe more or less) to the leather cases.

BTW: where did you get those small titanium colored apple stickers?
I also very much like both the look and the feel of the cases, but your comments about fingernails and marks is wildly incorrect. The Finewoven cases receive permanent marks after very light scrapes with a fingernail. Leather shows nothing with that level of pressure. Can you scratch leather? Sure, you can, but it requires a lot more effort and force than it does with the FW cases. Also, scratches minimize when rubbed on a leather case, while doing that with FW does nothing. I went to the store and looked at them, and really liked the look, but how incredibly easy it was for me to leave a permanent mark shocked me. (which I did on the inside of the display case by lightly rubbing a fingernail over it).

I'm a case hound, who usually buys between 5 and 8 cases for each phone I get, and usually at least two different leather cases. Over the course of a year, I have never left a mark that is as obvious as the super light pressure mark I made in the FW case. I would love it if they made this with a more damage-resistant material with very similar aesthetics, but right now, I just can't justify $60 for something that is going to wear very poorly.

This is my Andar leather case from my 14 Pro, with a year of use off and on. It has darkened and has a patina, but not a single visible scratch.

Anyone have an issue with the cutouts at the bottom being slightly misaligned? I like the case, but these cutouts make it look like a cheap knockoff. Trying to decide if I should swap it, or if a replacement might have the same problem. I have a 15 Pro with Fine Woven.
Mine’s misaligned the same way which stinks as I have take phone out of the case to use USB 3.0 cable to so I can transfer files

This weekend will be 7 days since I brought the case, I’ll wait until then to see how the case wears before deciding to return it or not. Definitely don’t want to miss the 14 day return period….

Initiate the return at the 13 or 14 day mark and then you have 14 more days until its due. Its kinda like a 28 day return.

I brought it in store so not sure that’s possible.

I’ll also know after a week of using it if it’s a risk I’m willing to take to see how the case will age over time.

Still debating exchanging it for the clear case…

I’m trying it out for a couple weeks before judging, so far I like the feel of it, very comfortable to hold, buttons are good imo just like the leather cases were, is it worth $60? Def not, how will it hold long term? Who knows but so far I’m liking it.

Mine is the same but it's really hard to see because the screw (to the left of the USB C port) is black so it blends in with the black Ti bumper of my iPhone.

I don’t know if it’s the scotch guard / sneaker water proofer I’ve applied but I’ve been using FW since Friday and it’s holding up so far.
Same for my FW Pacific Blue case. I sprayed it with fabric protector, however the FW material isn't very absorbent so I don't know how much good it will do. Either way, my FW case and Apple Wallet both look as good as new.

I’m undecided. I got it. Put it on, hated it. Threw my pikata case on. And then this morning I wanted to try it again. Threw an apple sticker that almost matches the titanium color on it and have been rocking it all day. I think I like it a little now
which apple sticker is that? looks great! and its the exactly same size as the apple logo on the case which is crazy!

I don't think the case is worth the asking price, but I do agree that I can't understand why everyone is making such a big deal and blowing this way out of proportion. I've spent way more than $60 on other Apple products that were far less resistant to scratches and damage from normal every day use. I think it's time for everyone to move on.

"The BMW Group will launch its first cars with completely vegan interiors as early as next year. This is mainly possible by developing innovative materials with leather-like properties."

"Mercedes-Benz’s new electric car, the VISION EQXX, reduces its carbon footprint by 50% by replacing leather with animal-free materials."

They are all working on it.

Not sure why Apple didn't go the "vegan leather" route.. there are some pretty good options now. Probably too expensive for them.
Vegan leather…..it’s good, it’s durable, it feels good in hand
People would buy it
Vegan leather is cheap

Vegan leather doesn't really hold up well. My Tesla has it and I see other owners with complaints about their headrests melting from their hair products.

I didn’t hate mine until I realized it didn’t fit correctly. The wobbly corner just wasn’t doing it for me. Not for $60.

However Apple’s return policy is great and I replaced it with an Apple Silicone case which I know from past experience that I do like. So they got my money anyway, just $10 less of it.

My point is, I voted with my wallet. That’s all you have to really do. Apple tried something, looks like it probably failed. That’s how they will know.

I actually like the silicone cases too. The feel of it and the look.

BUT, they are some of the most non durable cases I’ve ever owned. They always chip away on the edges so I decided not to get a silicone case this year

Made it on my circuit machine lol had to make like 5 different sizes before I found one that fight near perfect

It holds up much better, because it is easier to clean and doesn’t wrinkle.
Sadly it doesn’t breath at all, which makes my back sweat a lot.. but it always looks like new.

So, I like my FW case. It's very slippery though, and the Max is big, so it doesn't feel safe. But buttons click very easily and well, and looks and feel premium

My issue is that mine is a bit skewed. I noticed only when when I put the phone in, as the holes down become a little misaligned on the "dropping" corner. Is it normal? Seems like the phone isn't enough to make it straight, the lip on that corner is dropping a bit too. Then there are slight imperfection like around the lens protector, and in some light you can see two darker areas, like the fibers where combed in another direction

So, all in all I like it, just wondering if it makes sense to have it exchanged, or if I understand correctly it's very possible I'll get a worse one

I might get a silicone too for added grip, maybe another color

OK, now that is bad
But not surprising. Thanks to a few sensationalist YouTuber$ who over dramatise everything to make money off of views, followed by their target audience over-reacting, followed by news outlets over-reacting and it’s not long before people will go out of their way to try and damage these cases to prove they can be damaged 🤡

I've had mine on from day 1 and not a single scratch (yet). As always, with many things in life (and not just with Apple), over-reaction and hysteria kicks in and common sense and context goes out the window, because the internet is always right.

Fun fact, 5 people have looked at my 15 Pro since I got it and every single one as handed it back saying they like the case. I didn’t even mention it to them. That includes a waitress at a dinner out who needed to scan a QR code on it.

But for everyone who likes it, someone won’t. And that’s ok.

Glad you’re enjoying yours though 👍

Right, excuse me everyone, I’ve wasted enough time talking about a phone case and I’m heading down to Bentley to key some of the cars at the showroom. See if the paint is thicker than Audi’s.

Wow these cut outs are perfect 👌
Here’s mine for reference.
I’m going to an Apple Store tomorrow to replace it and will be thoroughly inspecting the new case before I leave.
