Day 5 with my pacific blue fine woven case, and it’s holding up well so far. I also bought a Spigen clear case but I have yet to use it because I’m liking the fine woven case a lot more.
I think people will need to get used to Finewoven as I can’t see Apple backing down and bringing back the leather cases, at most we might see refinements to fine woven in a future release, eg, they might improve the plastic edges to not feel nasty and cheap compared to the back of the caseI was just thinking today that I think it seems like people are warming up to it.

A reviewer on CNET posted an article about his experience after accidentally dropping his iPhone 15 Pro Max fine woven case on food. Later in the article he mentioned cleaning the case following Apple’s recommended method, and the results were: “Now any remaining avocado residue is gone and the water drop stain is barely visible”.Has anyone actually have had a stain, and used Apple’s recommended cleaning method to get it like-new again?
His experience speaks to mine. Although he didn’t mention it specifically my biggest gripe with the case is that with dry hands it’s pretty slick and doesn’t tack onto the skin much. I’ve dropped my phone with the case and to its credit the case doesn’t show any nicks. But I feel like the phone slipping from the hand as you use it might be more common with this materialA reviewer on CNET posted an article about his experience after accidentally dropping his iPhone 15 Pro Max fine woven case on food. For me, I feel like the fine woven case is a little bit easier to grip than my previous apple leather case but maybe that‘s just a placebo effect. There seems to be a lot of concerns about food stains and scratches on the case, but I’m concerned more about drop protection. I’m with you, I do really like the case so far. I’m not sure I’ll feel the same 6 months from now, but I’m willing to give it a try to see how well it holds up.His experience speaks to mine. My phone was fortunately fine but the screen protector cracked.
That being said I do like the case overall lol it’s slim, buttons are clicky, and I like the taupe color (the green is also rich in person but I prefer the brown tone)

If you don’t mind me asking, what was defective with your black fw case?Well I ended up replacing my defective black fw for the taupe. I love this colour and it contrasts really nice with my black ti iPhone.
The guy in the store who sorted it all out for me looked kinda fed up at first probably thinking “another one” but he was really nice and let me try all colours of the fw cases as well as clay and black silicone before I made my mind up 😂 I’m a happy bunny now and will post impressions.
+1 on the sides of the case. As someone mentioned above they’re not plastic, they’re lovely to grip, feel more durable than the back and I too feel it wouldn’t have been so bad if the whole case was this material.

I’ll take the opportunity and post day 1 of taupe fwWow these cut outs are perfect 👌
Here’s mine for reference.
I’m going to an Apple Store tomorrow to replace it and will be thoroughly inspecting the new case before I leave.
I think some people are judging them as a leather replacement and they may just be a different beast.View attachment 2273026Well having just felt them in person in the Apple Store, I like them! I think they feel really nice. I don’t understand the complaints that they feel cheap. Mulberry looks really good in person.
Totally agree with you. Fine woven as an alternative rather than a replacement for leather is an entirely different scenario. Apple should have offered both and let the consumer decide for themselves.I think some people are judging them as a leather replacement and they may just be a different beast.
Now don’t get me wrong I totally understand the criticism because some of it is warranted (scratching issues, staining, price) but the anger coming from some is a bit much.
I’m with you though I think they are unique in feel but they’re not for everyone.
Having visible markings from MagSafe charging after just a week sounds terrible to me. I know Apple claimed you had to be aware of this happening with the leather cases for iPhone 14 / 14 Pro as well. But after a year of mostly using MagSafe chargers mine didn't show any noticeable sign from the magnetic ring. How bad will these cases look after one month, three months, six months etc.?
Well Apple cautioned of MagSafe marks on their leather cases as well so this not new or unique to fine woven. fwiw, I wasn't all that impressed with the wear on my previous iPhone 14 Pro leather case. Here's an image after one year. IMO, leather cases are just as susceptible to normal wear/tear as fine woven. They will look garbage, barely a week using this junk and MagSafe mark is clear and there are tiny scratches all over that won’t come out
Returning this tomorrow

I'm not comparing fine woven to leather ; a good quality fine grain leather always wins. What I am saying is that Apples more recent leather cases seemed to made of cheap low grade leather. The patina on my iPhone 14 pro leather case aged very poorly compared most of the earlier iPhone leather cases I owned. There are pro's and con's to every case you choose, so it comes down to personal choice. For me, fine woven case is a solid option. The used rugged look on leather actually LOOKS GOOD, patina is an entire thing of wear and tear look that leather fans love
This fiber woven material is cheap looks like trash when this gets scratched up
lol you can’t compare the material of leather to this toy
Apple Leather cases have been terrible for years (since the 12 Pro if I recall correctly.). Not sure what type of leather they used but the patina was awful and that hideous black grime around the edge of the case. I’ve never have seen that before with real leather.I'm not comparing fine woven to leather ; a good quality fine grain leather always wins.
