After 10 days of use. Taupe Pro Max case, still looks great! charging on MagSafe every night and using MagSafe in the car.

Any dirty spots have come off with a damp microfiber cloth, even took a knee waist height tumble face down on a tile floor. I work an office job so hands are fairly clean when handling.

I am definitely keeping, love the look and feel. I expect it to hold up pretty well but will see over months and a year..
Do you notice that MagSafe ring in person or just the pictures showing it?

So I ended up picking up a Pacific Blue FineWoven (official) to go along with my knockoff Ali Express green one. I thought I'd take some macro shots and compare the construction of the two. With both side by side, it's easy to see which is the knockoff, but without reference, it's much harder. For the record, I really like the finewoven cases...they look really nice, IMO (especially the blue), and I like the feel too. I'm generally not too rough on my cases, so hopefully mine stays in decent condition. So far no permanent marks through 2.5 days.

Key differences:
1) The official FW case is a fair bit thinner than the knockoff, presumably because of the microfiber lining used rather than just having FW fabric on the inside like the official case.

2) The woven/coated weave at the edges is different, with the official having more coating and less visible fibers.

3) The buttons on the knockoff are thinner and not as precicely cut as the official buttons, though they work fine.

4) The apple logo is accentuated differently, with the knockoff having much more defined edges.

Surprisingly, the weave is actually very similar between the two, as is the feel in the hand.

Some shots comparing the two. Green is AliExpress knockoff, Blue is official Apple. (for those interested, taken with the Nikon Z8 and MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S macro:

Sides w/ buttons. Can see the button size difference, the difference in edge weave and the thickness difference.

Do you happen to have an AliExpress link for the knock off?

I have the black FW, used it for a week. I hate to pile on, but it’s not great and it seems terribly overpriced. It’s a lint magnet, it’s already showing scratches, the MagSafe charger is already wearing a circle in the back, and it was slightly loose on one side causing it to squeak/creak. It also seems only minimally protective, definitely less so than even the Apple silicone. I’ve switched to a Mous Limitless 5.0 which to me feels more premium and protective. YMMV…

Does it pick up a lot of lint in your pocket?

I get the imprint of my belkin magsafe car holder but it goes away after a couple hours. For now at least

I don’t have one of these cases but surprised to see the large bottom cutouts rather than the precise tiny speaker holes. Apple usually doesn’t do that.

I think the material warps in a way and doesn't allow for such precise machining, hence why the big holes, which don't align most of the time

I got my iPhone 15 Pro cases today. I have mixed fillings about FineWoven. I really like how it feels. However, I don’t like how dirty it will get. There was already a noticeable smudges on both of them before fulled removed from the packaging. This can be seen in the photos below. I’m not reckless with my phone, but I’m defiantly not delicate with it. It gets tossed in bags, lost in bedding, shoved in pockets, dropped on the floor with a house full of dogs, occasionally handed to a toddler, and has it's fair share of outdoor camping adventures. Using the FineWoven case will make my phone will look very aged after a short month of use. Also, the FineWoven Evergreen color is 2-3 shades darker than expected. It's almost black looking at certain angles. The Silicone Cypress is what I would call Everygreen. That's a perfect shade of green! Both the FineWoven Pacific Blue and Silicone Storm Blue are spot on. I absolutely love both the blue colors. I decided that I am going to return the FineWoven cases and stick with my long-time loved Apple Silicone case. I just wish there were more color options. I’d really love a darker orange/pumpkin color this time of year. I know there are available from 3rd parties, but the Apple Silicone has always felt different/better than others.

I am right now a bit torn between the FineWoven in Pacific Blue and the Silicone in Storm Blue.
I believe the FineWoven won’t last long but that blue shade is spot on with my Apple Watch Ultra with the blue Ocean Band. How different is the Storm Blue of the Silicone case?
Silicone cases are always a safe choice, I just wish that Storm Blue would be a good match with my blue Ocean Band.

I think the fact that the FW is intended as a replacement for the now discontinued leather cases makes it a hard sell.

Just received my mulberry FineWoven case and it’s definitely interesting.

- Back feels soft and velvety and suede like. There seems to be some padding and bounce to it
- Sides seem to be somewhere between hard plastic and nylon. If you look closely you can see a fabric type pattern
- Feels thinner and lighter than a silicone case
- Back seems to attract fluff and lint quite easily. I’ll be applying a scotch guard spray or similar to make it more water repellant.

Keen to see pics of other colours and your thoughts!

What I’m definitely noticing is a lot of the hate hype, pre phone release is dying down and now people have them on their phones, they are warming to them and perhaps realising they may actually be a good case after all.

Me being one of them. I ordered three FW cases prior to phone release, sent them all back. Post phone release, grew curious after seeing a fair few pictures and hearing good things and I’m now trialing one to see how it goes. So far, I’m liking it

The first few weeks of new iPhone releases are always dominated by negative coverage, heatgate, battery woes, scratch test /drop test / benchmarks, mostly for clicks and likes on YT videos and twitter/X likes. That's how influencers get attention and marketing revenue.

You probably get real reviews and feedback once everyone calms down and have a chance to actually use the product.

I have two FW and I'm loving both of them. Surprised how minor dirt and grime can be easily wiped off with a damp cloth and soapy water.

Picked up the taupe FW case for my natural titanium pro max. Love them both. The case has held up very well. I actually think it will age much better than the most recent versions of the leather cases. Really confused about all of the initial uproar about these cases. Worse thing about them is the price. Most Apple products are overpriced 😂 why is anything different expected with these cases.
