This. They really need to drop the price as well. It’s a nice case, but definitely not a $60 case.

Yep, I agree, but of course they won't. If they didn't sell this as a leather alternative, maybe the complaints wouldn't be as fierce. But, I guess they had to explain why they're getting out of the leather game.

I still don't understand how that product got approved.

The FW isn't being sold as a leather equivalent. Apple has never marketed it as such. People on MR and other places have injected their own spin in that regard and then got mad at Apple for something Apple has never done.

Apple states FW is the leather replacement.

Apple webpage.

In my opinion, the paragraph is not very well constructed. Notice Apple didn't say replacing leather cases with FineWoven. That is a very important distinction. Apple said they were doing away with their leather case product and introducing FineWoven. Apple has made no marketing comparison between the two, nor has Apple said anything in that paragraph denoting FineWoeven is meant to be a direct leather equivalent.

I think many have made assumptions and read something into that paragraph that isn't there and then get mad at Apple.

Apple's event = "Suede-like feel"

apple's website: "Made from durable microtwill, the material has a soft, suedelike feel."

Suede = leather.

I also know that apple has told their store employees to tell people that it feels just like leather.

The first few weeks of new iPhone releases are always dominated by negative coverage, heatgate, battery woes, scratch test /drop test / benchmarks, mostly for clicks and likes on YT videos and twitter/X likes. That's how influencers get attention and marketing revenue.

You probably get real reviews and feedback once everyone calms down and have a chance to actually use the product.

I have two FW and I'm loving both of them. Surprised how minor dirt and grime can be easily wiped off with a damp cloth and soapy water.
You can also add people purpose trying to bend and snap the phones and then claiming they’re not durable when they break 🙄🙄

Do you take the case off to clean/wipe them ?

Those with the FW case.

Can you please angle the phone downwards and look to see if you can see daylight between the case and the charging port hole from the front of the phone?

Just noticed on mine that I can. If this isn't normal then I will request a replacement.

I reported this issue to decoded on my leather case, they said to return for replacement but they were out of stock so ended up refunding me without need to return

I can. I think it's normal. Mine sits a bit "higher" than the cutouts. But from the photos I've seen.. 90% of the FW cases are warped to some extent. I highly doubt your replacement will be better.

Who said that FineWoven cases cant patina? I have some unwashable marks after just 10 days of use 😄
edit: its not stain or anything like that, i am keeping my hands clean while using my phone

I don't notice a gap on mine, but I have a screen protector so that may have closed any space that would have been apparent.
