I’m excited for the 16 lineup to release, but probably for a different reason than a lot of people.

I’m so ready to trade in my 14 pro max and “downgrade” to a base 16. I’ve hated the weight of my 14pm since shortly after getting it. Even with the thinnest case I could find it’s still like carrying a brick in my pocket.

Additionally, my phone needs have just changed over the years. I used to want the biggest iPhone and the smallest iPad I could get. That has flip flopped. I recently traded in my iPad mini 6th gen and got the 13” iPad Air, and am loving it. I’m ready to go smaller on my phone.

The 60hz display won’t bother me either. My work cell is an iPhone XR, so I know the slower refresh won’t be an issue that bothers me.

I had even considered waiting for the new SE next spring, but I don’t think I can wait that long to make the change.

0. Boring design used for the 5th year in a row
I really dislike the squared edge design, the 11 Pro may have also been a rectangular slab but it was a gorgeous device with the polished stainless steel and curved glass, and it felt great in the hand. I hope we don’t have to wait for the iPhone XX for it to come back

I recently switched from the 15 Pro back to the 14 Pro because of the high-resolution photos and won't be upgrading until the iPhone 19 Pro in 2027. From 2027, all manufacturers will be obliged to sell their smartphones in the EU only with a manually replaceable battery without tools.

How do you expect the design to change less they do a flip or fold phone and people and already extremely negative at the thought of those two. People just can’t be happy at all these days
Lots of people are excited by a folding apple phone, but just don't go on about it. The vocal people on here are the ones that don't want one. Don't want one? Hate the idea of one? Don't buy one. Everyone has different use cases.

Might just replace the battery in my iPhone 13 Pro Max and wait one more year for the 17. Nothing on this list i can't live without.

I do the AT&T trade-in/$1000 credit thing every 3 years but don't want to waste the opportunity on minor improvements.

My sister is buying 16 ProMax, coming from 13 Promax. It is time for her. My family needs to decide if they are upgrading their iPhone x and iPhone 11 models.

I assume that people don’t own iphones and have nothing else better to contribute. That’s why sites like this are useless.

The 15 PM is already lighter feeling than the 14 PM to the extreme. On paper not by much, but try them side by side and it’s so light in comparison.
True, but the 16 is rumoured to be heavier, again…

It makes sense for all four ‌iPhone 16‌ models to have the same A18 chip because of the Apple Intelligence features set to debut in iOS 18. Apple Intelligence requires a high-powered chip for the AI features to run on-device. At this time, only the ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ and Pro Max are able to use Apple Intelligence.

No it doesn’t… Apple can put the A17 in the standard iPhone 16 and it will run the AI features just like the iPhone 15 Pro will!

I like most of the other rumoured updates. But I really hope the polished finish that we had with the stainless steel is wrong. I really like the brushed finish on the titanium, and the natural titanium is good at not showing fingerprints, whereas the polished stainless steel were a fingerprint magnet.

You might’ve missed it, but supposedly the titanium will have a process that will minimize scratches as not seen on polished stainless steel so…perhaps because it’s titanium and not steel well also get some sort of fingerprint reduction there, as well…personally, I’ve had iPhone since whatever was first to come to verizon, the 4 somethin…and I NEVA had day 1…I’m thinkin a 16 PM 250 gig from a 14 Pro Max is my first day one (MAYBE 500 gig)…spatial recording come home to papa…

*laughs in consumerism*

Because 1) while it’s true that most people don’t rush out to get the newest shiny toy every year, millions of others clearly do otherwise Apple and any of these other companies wouldn’t bother putting so much money and resources into doing it. And 2) since there’s a plethora of 0% financing options, trade-in programs and carrier subsidies, it allows for a seamless upgrade experience. An experience made so easy these days that perhaps quite a few of those annual upgrades are customers who aren’t even really all that tech obsessed but it’s only an extra 20 or 40 bucks a month added to their overall phone bill so they figure why not?

I upgrade every year just to be guaranteed the newest phone and get a refreshed battery at 100% health. But I do it because I already have to pay about a hundred bucks or so a month to even get service on my phone so what’s another 30ish on top of that to have the latest and greatest including Apple Care+?

I won’t spend the 2-3 hours to upgrade my existing phone if there isn’t enough of a pull factor. I know it’s said you can set up a new phone in an hour. For some reasons it always takes much longer in my case.

It can take noticeably longer if you have eSims that don't transfer easily, and banking apps which all need re-authenticating.

Its just sad there is no Mini on the roadmap. The company that has been mocked endlessly for making devices "too thin" or obsessing about form factors, is missing a portion of the market that really really really values form factor. :(
iPhone 13 mini gang.

I'm pretty sure 80%+ of the article is true.
Since iPhone 11, iPhone reveals were no secret anymore.
I’m curious, do you prefer the secrecy and not knowing anything at all, or being informed by outlets such as these? Like why are you here

i am glad I held onto my iPhone 11 Pro Max for as long as I did, since apple intelligence is making obsolete all the previous versions. i hope they upgrade the pro max ram to 16gb too. my 11 pro max battery is at 75% now but it says no throttling yet, hopefully the 16 pro max will last me another 5 years.
I have an iPhone 14, and the battery is the only issue really. I might just decide to replace the battery than get a new iPhone because of cost reasons. The phone works perfectly fine aside to that. And in regards to AI, I already have a pair of Meta Glasses that I wear daily that answer all of my questions fairly well. Significantly smarter than Siri currently is

Just to add to this, I know many people here are against a folding iPhone, I’m actually looking forward to one as a person who likes to write notes and take sketches and view video content on the go. Not to mention some gaming.
