I do regret that i’ve sold my 14 pro..The $100 battery replacement in my 14PM has proven once again to be the best investment I've made in a while.

Do you have panic-full files in the log list? To see it go intoI currently have a 14 Pro and prior to upgrading to iOS18 I had no software issues, when I upgraded I started to see random crashes/reboots that last about 8 seconds or so. This occurs maybe once every few days. I hope Apple will provide a future update to address this as I never had random reboots before prior to iOS 18.
I’ve not heard of Apple Devices. Is it a Windows app?More and more by the day the local device management features are being deprecated or get ignored and neglected to the point they do not even work
Go ahead, try and update or restore a device to iOS 18 in Apple Devices (which you are forced to use after iOS 18)
You can’t, because it will not even successfully complete. Nobody has been able to demonstrate otherwise.
Then there are rumors they will eventually take away the USB-C port for a fully wireless device, with no means for wired data transfer. The first step is making it not even work on the current devices, this is how they normalize it.
I agree that the product lineups are a bit messy. Honestly, I think it’s silly to keep selling old products at lower prices. It complicates the lineup and people can just buy second-hand if they don’t want to pay full price. Most of my MacBooks have been bought from eBay & they’ve lasted a minimum of 5 years. My first ever one died out of nowhere after 8 years & it was £740.Personally I believe it’s because a few things. Apple is biting off more than it can chew to keep new features coming that they simply run out of time. Also they have over complicated the product lineup especially with phones and iPads which makes it harder to test everything. But the biggest thing of all is they have over complicated things so much that it’s hard to even keep track of everything. Similar to how iTunes Mac app became a giant disaster in recent years before they pulled the plug and blew it up.
Think back to the early days. iOS 5 added notifications. Like that was THE major new feature. iOS 6 added maps. After that, iOS 7-18 were loaded with new features across the board…. Across tons of devices. How the hell can you make all that work in under a year?!
The answer is you can’t. Devices are getting bricked , animations and silky smooth operations are a thing of the past. Yet we have the most insanely powerful chips on the planet. None of it matters if nothing is optimized properly.
Apple needs some soul searching. But the soul is gone. Tim is a bean counter. And a damn good one. If you own Apple stock it’s incredible what he’s done. But one thing is certain. That glimmer of magic is barely there anymore.
The iPhone was iconic. The iPad was iconic. Now every product lineup has a million options. Sadly Apple is slowly becoming what they used to make fun of.
Did you experimented any kernel panic error before the fresh installed that fixed you issues?I had this issue after transfer data from 12 mini to 16 pro max. Then I wiped the 16 pro max from scratch fresh start without restoring from iCloud. No issue since.
Some data configurations conflict or corruption.
Yes, Apple Devices is the new iTunes replacement for windows. Less bloated but unfortunately less functional as well.I’ve not heard of Apple Devices. Is it a Windows app?
Couldn’t they just allow the creation of a network between the computer and iPhone for file transfers, if they got rid of the charging port? Similar to how you can connect to an Apple TV box when you have no internet connection - you use Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to create a network and stream to the Apple TV box. As for charging, there’s Qi charging/MagSafe.

They should remove the ‘iPad’ from the iPad lineup, so that the options would then be: iPad Air, iPad Pro, iPad Mini.
Having an app, a service and a hardware device with a similar name is ridiculous too (Apple TV, Apple TV app, Apple TV+).
I didn’t mind that iOS did not have most features that Android had back then. It’s better to release the feature implemented well and working properly than implemented poorly and not working well.
My iPhone 16 is certainly affected - at first it was the camera app, after a reset it's now random...
There appears to be a bug with some iPhone 16 models that is causing random restarts, according to complaints on Reddit, the MacRumors forums, and the Apple Support Communities. Affected users are seeing their iPhones freeze unexpectedly and then reboot.
![]()
Reports about the issue have been ongoing since the iPhone 16 models first launched in September, and have continued to this week. The iOS 18.0.1 and iOS 18.1 updates do not fix the issue, as it has continued to happen to users even after installing the latest software.
The problem seems to pop up randomly. The display will stop responding or will be very slow to respond to touch input, and then the iPhone will do a quick restart. There have also been reports of the iPhone restarting unexpectedly when in StandBy mode.
Some users who contacted Apple shortly after the new iPhones launched were able to get replacement devices, but have had the issue reoccur. Almost all of the complaints are about the iPhone 16 Pro or iPhone 16 Pro Max, so it may only be the Pro models that are impacted.
For most people, the issue is sporadic, but some users have seen 10 to 20 crashes per day. In some cases, doing a fresh install and not reinstalling from an iCloud Backup seems to have fixed the problem, so it is possible that this is a bug related to iCloud.

This has been a problem since iPhone 14. Apple should acknowledge this. Embarrassing lack of quality control.
My wife and I both moved from iPhone 14 Pro Max's to iPhone 16 Pro Max's. No issues with restarts or crashes I did update the 14's to iOS 18 as soon as it released. Made sure all our apps worked for a week or two before the 16's arrived.
I did have lousy battery life on my 16 whereas my wife did not. It turned out to be a beta blood sugar app that publishes BS values every minute to calendar. Stopped that task and now no issues.
Last issue that is driving me nuts is Siri stops responding on my iPhone with "Hey Siri" or "Siri". I have to push the power button to initiate Siri. I have done the suggestions on Apple community site, which fixes it for a day, then it is back to its no response.
I think I must be one of the few that likes the camera control slider.
Apple needs to lay off these massive software and hardware updates every year. Each year it gets worse and worse. This year has been the worst cycle of software in Apples history. Bricked iPads and Apple Watches. Selling phones using commercials on features that aren’t even out yet and won’t be for months (Apple Intelligence). All of this reeks of desperation to keep shareholders happy while trying to hoodwink the public.
Its embarrassing and I think all of us should expect more from a 3 Trillion dollar company.
Curiously, my Samsung Galaxy S9 shows uptime 18796 hours (more than two years).
As a matter of fact, I have never experienced reboots with Samsung phones in recent years. The reason this particular phone has not rebooted for so long (apart from being that reliable) is that it stopped receiving software updates long ago (it's 5 or 6 years old)Bug Alert 🚨 Seems that Samsung needs to fix their Uptime tracker. 🤣
Last week, my three week old iPhone 15 Pro Max suddenly started turning itself on and off in a continuous loop, and would not charge. When the battery ran out, it still wouldn’t charge. I took it to the Apple Store and they were unable to get it to start up, and nor could they extract the serial number from it. So, they gave me a new phone.

"This happens to me all the time". Proceed to describe a completely different problem. It happens to me on the daily. Except it doesn’t reboot I have to manually restart the phone to get it out of the frozen zone.
