I'm actually using the camera button and find it a better solution than the on screen controls. There is a bit more of a learning curve than we're used to on other Apple products but once you have it down it's great.

Jumped to 16 Pro from IPX...it's definitely faster, more responsive and there's a lot under the hood
technology-wise.

I find the camera button intuitive but some of the presses are not so responsive always. I find myself having to try 2-3 times before I see results. Activating the camera and clicking the shutter is fine....I find the half press to be a somewhat ambiguous instruction. My half press may be different from the half press of a lighter fingered or heavier fingered person.

Im having to practise the singe and double half press to get the toolbars I want. I think depending on the circumstances (case or exposed cam button), a tap/doubletap with the fingernail has also worked for me.

But overall, 16Pro has been a worthwhile purchase. All their products are grossly overpriced IMO but once you're wedded to the apple ecosystem they have you by the shorties...so might as well enjoy it. No point whining as I am LOL.

Went from 11 Pro Max (5 years, yea i held it off that long lol... was gonna try 6 but got white screen glitch and severe battery drop/overheating - traded it in to apple asap) and picked up 16 Pro Max

huge leap forward in battery life, responsiveness and it's too fast for me [sometimes] haha in a good way. Most I got from it was 40 hours on LPM before needing to recharge which is bonkers. Can wait till first thing in morning at least and don't need to 'charge overnight' anymore.

very speedy device no issues [i know some ppl will say "but apple intelligence isnt avail yuk or that camera button is so amaznig" dude idgaf lol.... if one is hyping over those two things they need to get their priorities straight those are bonuses but not indefinite needs, its still "A CAPABLE PHONE" at the end of the day once its stripped down to the barebones basics and fundamentals.

I'm enjoying my 16 Pro and there are a ton of little improvements. Unlike almost every tech reviewer, I'm actually using the camera button and find it a better solution than the on screen controls. There is a bit more of a learning curve than we're used to on other Apple products but once you have it down it's great.

I'm glad I went ahead with my purchase despite the reviews which I've found were greatly exaggerated.
one huge dealbreakre for me with camera control button is the exposure variation/compensation.... huge huge speedy feature. [as a pro photographer, i do this A lot because i dont like how phones and cameras still overexpose a bit for my liking]

before had to tap on screen, drag down aimlesslly to get exp comp down... that was so clunky imo, this is much faster.

i think the new iphone 16 pro phones definitely made sense for someone like me grasping dearly on the 11 pro max.
another addition to the improvement is virtually no overheating or just very faint amounts... in normal use something the 14/15 pro max couldnt do properly and is why i held off. this was a brilliant release, from that singular point of view.

obvs anyone who does YoY or two year upgrades will complain and say there's "NOT MUCH OF A DIFF AND IT SUCKED" well duh what else are you expecting phone makers to do when the phone is god damn fast and capable already... can only put in so much lol

Definitely coming from an 11 Pro Max this would be a huge improvement. Even me, coming from a 14 Pro it was great. Mostly, I have to admit I just wanted a different color but was pleasantly surprised by the additional upgrades.

My battery has been crazy good so far. It's 9:18pm where I'm at and Im at 76% charge which is better than my 14 Pro when it was also new.

Going from 15 Pro to 16 Pro (arriving tomorrow) not expecting anything apart from a slightly bigger screen and slightly better battery life….I upgrade every year as I sell the old one on eBay and only lose 25% so no major cost really.

16pro is a nice upgrade from my 14pro. Funny enough - if i was to name 1 thing that sucks - it's the camera button. ;)
I keep pressing it when picking up my phone (no case). I changed the settings so i need a double click to actually open the camera so there is that. Also, every control is faster using the old UI elements for me. No idea who at Apple thought this was needed. Am i the only one?

I have had the iPhone 16 Pro since its launch, upgrading from the 14 Pro. I love the size, the updated cameras, and the screen. However, the battery life has been a significant disappointment for me. I believe it's more of an iOS 18 bug. This morning, I woke up at my usual time of 4:15 AM, and by 8 AM, I had already lost over 15% of the battery without using the phone much—just moderate use. I would like to see better performance, but I haven't found a solution yet.

That's weird. My battery life on the 16 Pro has been nothing short of awesome.

I’m really envious! That’s exactly what I expected from my 16 Pro. There’s an entire thread in the iOS 18 discussion about battery issues since the update, and it seems like quite a few people are struggling. I just can’t pinpoint what the problem is.

What kind of SOT are you getting?

The last time I kept an eye on it it was 3hrs 42 mins SOT and I still had 52% battery life left.

Can only say the same, have 5:50 SOT today and are on 57%, starting from 95% which is current limit. But don’t get I have 19% Home&Lockscreen, something not right with that…

Yep that Home and Lock Screen makes something off. I don’t understand it.

Do you charge overnight?
