Good. Hope this causes Apple to improve and optimize iOS. It's been largely neglected in the stability and performance front after iOS 12.
I don’t see that happening soon. As iOS 18.x has shown with every iteration its bug ridden and it’s scrambling to bring the much needed updates. I’m looking forward to see what iOS 18.4 brings to Siri. If Siri is still braindead it will have big implications for apples future products (AVP, command center, Apple Watch, etc.)

Benchmarks don't mean anything. App parity is once again glossed over by every single review out there.

How well does the Samsung S25 Ultra run the Resident Evil 4 Remake? Hades? Howabout an older title like Journey?

Oh.

The reactions of some are quite funny.
They are at that.
Yesterday someone mentioned the “crappy” processor Samsung uses when I said that Apple is quite behind Samsung offerings.
Samsungs core competency is not processors.
Than they rant about Apple’s ecosystem and processor power which is “unbeatable”. In my opinion Apple is getting behind on all things that matter. Even considering the pricing difference.
It’s worth it to note, in your opinion only. Apples record profits indicate this is your opinion only.
I’m not about bashing Apple,
?
but it certainly needs to focus less on profits and make sure their products offer the value for money one should expect from a premium brand.
Again, record profits debunks the above.
Apple purely relies on customers who don’t compare or don’t value technology evolutions.
What a generalized load of crap the above is.
Apple won’t sink in one day, but the writings are on the wall they have to come up with better offerings.
The writings have been in the wall since 2011, and yet here we are today. Apple is likely to outlast Samsung.
8GB isn’t enough even when you have to consider that Android is fully multitasking and iOS is not.

People who love Apple products can defend Apple as long as they want, but it has been a long time going that their offerings need to get a lot better do they want to attract switchers or growing their base.
Record profits disagree with your opinion.
Apple AI is a joke compared to Android offerings. I don’t see Apple closing the gap soon or ever.
I dont see android offerings being any better. Different sure, better no.
The best things that set Apple apart (ecosystem) have been copied for years on other platforms and many go beyond what’s possible with apples.
Comprehensive citation needed or else it’s more hubris.

My opinion is like yours. A grain of sand in the universe. What is important is apples record profits.

Every year iphones get faster and faster... yet iOS still slows down after 2 major OS updates where absolutely nothing changes apart from the OS skin & a few useless/minor feature changes (which only run when you use them). No other brands do this despite being all round cheaper/worse quality or just weaker. Geee I wonder why...

THIS! ^^

I have some older iPhones still on much older iOS versions and it's shocking how lightning fast they are to use

iOS has really become some very bloated software

I don’t really understand why you think it’s necessary to quote every line I wrote.

We already agree we have different opinions. Also you’re a shareholder of Apple and your interest lies in the amount of profit Apple makes.

Why you can’t just ignore me instead of of pestering?

What’s the fun of that?

Another nail in the iPhone coffin.
This is just the beginning. Where is the mythical “hardware and software integration” of Apple?.
Shaaaaaaaaaaaame on Tim.
Why pay so much for an inferior devices in ALL aspects?. IOS is very primitive compared to Android in most regards.

i mean, they have literally caught up in processing power, actually they are about %10 ahead of apple in multicore performance. View attachment 2481429View attachment 2481431

Only in clown land is ‘multi core’ real world performance. Intel has been called out for all these more core and hyper threading nonsense so they can win at certain benchmarks.

Per core performance is how processor architecture is rated. Samsung’s chip is almost 20% slower per core than the 16 Pro Max.

And it is 4 years behind the performance of the M4 iPad which Samsung/Android also competes against.

Their GPU will be miles behind too.

And what’s this…

It requires people with Apple Derangement Syndrome to assume that anything competes against the iPhone or iPad processors. They’ve been doing this for years and every year they have coping problems so they flood this forum with their cope issues.

Anyone whose reaction to this (whether pro-Apple or pro-Samsung) is stronger than "Hmm, interesting" needs to get out more.

Well, if that's the price Samsung is willing to pay, and so long as consumers are okay with it, then good for them. :)

For several years, I have encountered a persistent issue with my MacBook Pros. Despite purchasing high-end models with exceptional performance, cooling, and quiet operation, I have noticed a sudden deterioration in their performance two years after purchase. The updated operating system appears to have a detrimental effect on their longevity, causing them to become excessively hot, noisy, and slow.

The reality is that Apple have lost their traditional 2 year advantage in single core CPU performance over Snapdragon etc. These new SD Elite chips really are a significant jump in performance for new Android flagships, and should be used in Tablets also.
They would benefit the most in tablets because of bigger batteries and heat sinks.

There’s no way I’m not gonna sound salty, but honestly, it’s probably been years since I’ve noticed a difference in speed on my phone. What do I do? Go on Reddit. Browse the web. Open YouTube. My iPhone X from 2017 probably did it at the same speed that I’m doing it now

Is there something to say relevant to the topic at hand?

Or do you believe you should be able to post freely and then disallow forum members from replying to your post?

The point is Samsung overlocked the processor. For one of the few times in the history of comparisons got better benchmarks. But in a world where sales count, I would buy a Samsung tv all day long, but not a phone. My wallet belongs to Apple.

And the overriding point was apples profits are what they are. One can have any interpretation about what they mean or dive into the nuances and make some baseless predictions.
