Pro max. Yeah man that video you posted his screen protector is full of dust as well. Half ass attempt install or phone defect on that one lol
Do you currently have a screen protector on?

Please let me know how yours goes? I'm holding off ordering for now.

Belkin at £34.95. Which is very expensive but having it fitted straight out of the box means no dust or grease from finger prints thereby ensuring a perfect fit. Touch screen performance is not impacted at all. I don't understand how but it also doesn't show fingerprints on the screen when I use the phone!

Thanks @Sptzz, most helpful posts in this thread. I've never used a case or a screen protector since they were mostly plastic but this convinced me to get the Spigen...or the Belkin.

On another note, I do have to rectify. I did notice a SLIGHT rainbow effect, on the very edges of the protector when I line my eyes almost close to its horizon line. Surprising I didnt notice it before but I've been flooded at work anyway.

So, just to rectify that I said absolutely no rainbow effect. There is a tiny bit. if I'm looking directly at the screen, it's definitely not there, to notice it you do have to do really waste your time moving the phone around on every single angle to notice it

Even though I can feel the oleophobic coating on the spigen it definitely gets fingerprints on it, I've never seen any that doesn't, but I guess that depends from person to person

Just found this with the 16 Pro Max and Belkin Ultraglass 2 protector and now I'm scared

Maybe I'll just stick with my ESR for the time being

That just looks like a bad installation. I even looked for installations of my protector on youtube and 3 videos were so badly done it's insane. No one RTFM.

Just had the ultraglass 2 installed at an apple store yesterday and am very happy with it. No dust under the screen or rainbow effect.

Also, having the lifetime replacement warranty makes it totally worth it IMO.

I’m curious, does the “rainbow effect” around the edge actually bother people while they’re using the phone? I’ve had it on every glass screen protector with a clear edge, but I‘ve only ever been able to see it when holding the phone at an oblique angle specifically to make it happen. It’s never been something I could see while using the phone normally.
It’s not even just the “rainbow”. You can straight up see the edge of a clear protector even with the screen off (or black). That’s unacceptable in my book.

Yes. Had the ultraglass unbreak from Amazon but it cut into the screen too much. Right now running the amfilm and it’s nice but has rainbow effect and it’s a dust magnet. On my 15PM I ran the Shellrus sapphire and when it broke 3 months ago I switched to the flolab for the anti-reflective coating. Planning on running the belkin till it breaks then I’ll switch back to Shellrus till the 16PM. The flolab oleo coating sucks

sorry to hear about the amfilm, but i'm glad to get this info before ordering it. i may have to stick with my pricy and sharp Torras if there is nothing else out there that is problem free. i'm guessing manufacturers may need to fine tune sizing/edges with these 6.3 and 6.9 sizes being new, and less wiggle room with the thin bezels on the phone.

Which protector are you recommending that doesn’t have this issue, but also doesn’t encroach on the edges of the screen with a black border? I haven’t been able to find one for the 16PM that meets both criteria.

I’m currently using the Torras for lack of a better option right now. It’s honestly not even that bad as I do see most of the camera Ls. I’ve seen an example of someone’s black border cutting a lot of the top of the camera control’s icons off. (I forget which screen protector that was). Mine only cuts off a pixel or so if the phone is angled up. Straight forward and down I see the whole icon.

I see this as the better of the two evils instead of seeing the edge of a clear screen protector.

Looks like the belkin is what you’re looking for. I’ll give feedback tonight

Thanks for the info. I‘m running the Spigen Glas.tR which fits perfectly, but still has a visible edge with the Apple Silicone. I think I’ll just wait it out until we get a protector with a black edge that is slightly thinner.

i'm in the same position. i see all the camera L's with my Torras on my 16 pro. slight showing of edge. my biggest complaint is the rough edge that also collects dust. none of my prior all screen glass protectors have had this deficit in the past.

Is this the one you 2 ordered? What do you mean by camera L's? Are the edges on this protector curved? I prefer black borders but don't like to feel the edge since I use my phone naked.

yes, this is the one i purchased. the "Ls" refer the corners of the image when the camera app is open. they should be visible if the black borders are aligned properly. they are for me.

however, th edge is not very curved IMHO and relatively sharp compared to all other protectors i've used over the years. i would reject this protector if i used the phone naked.

I have the Belkin UltraGlass 2, installed in the Apple store. Very little rainbow effect, on the edges, only when the screen is angled significantly, in a way that I wouldn't look at my screen anyway. It's a very good fit overall and it's incredibly smooth. IMG_9947.jpgIMG_9921.JPEGIMG_9927.JPEG

Thanks that helps a lot. I guess I will wait. I used my iPhone 14 Pro completely naked but it did develop some scratches (in the coating maybe?). Are there any actual durable glass protectors nowadays? In the past I was frequently changing them due to edges chipping/cracking even though I'm not particularly rough with my phone.

I don’t think I’d like this protector naked. It’s quite a thick protector and the edges are not very rounded if at all. I hope torras updates it like they did last year.

I decided to order one from my local Apple Store, should arrive here this afternoon. Will also report back.
OK, so I just installed the Belkin UltraGlass 2 which was delivered directly from the Apple Store, so the same that they’re installing at the store. I don’t know what people are seeing, but to my eye the rainbow effect is actually worse than with the Spigen Glas.tR. The fit is OK, but no better than the Spigen. The install process with the Spigen is easier, and the adhesive also seems better on the Spigen, with fewer bubbles to start with. I was able to work all of the bubbles out of the Belkin, but it took a lot longer than with the Spigen. Others may disagree, but I’d say save some money and buy the Spigen from Amazon - it’s far less expensive and you get two protectors in the box compared to one Belkin. To me the Belkin seems overpriced and no better that the Spigen. YMMV.

EDIT: I do like the Belkin after using it for a week. The main advantage is that it’s roughly half the thickness of the Spigen, which provides more lip protection above the screen. Other than that, I stand by what I said above.

You just saved me $40.00 - Thank You.

I'm assuming the sharp edges is primarily an issue if you don't use a case? How's the thickness on the Spigen? Not too much impact on touch sensitivity etc? The Torras is on sale right now for around $5 more than spigen at Scamazon...between those two ?
