Hmm first impressions on the belkin ultra 2. Installation really isn’t that much harder than spigen. It’s just wipe your screen down, slap the full coverage sticker on, then pull it up and set phone face down into tray and pull the tab. Smoother than the amfilm and the other glass i had. Definitely has more coverage than the amfilm as well. You can tell after the installation process when you lift the phone up and have to press down around the screen. No bubbles around the edges. No rainbow effect when looking straight on. Only from about 45 degree angle and on from top and bottom. Will update on dust tomorrow. But so far I really like it.

Updated to add - with the amfilm you had to be looking dead center at your phone screen to see rainbow. And slight tilt and you got hit with the colors lol

I'm assuming the sharp edges is primarily an issue if you don't use a case? How's the thickness on the Spigen? Not too much impact on touch sensitivity etc? The Torras is on sale right now for around $5 more than spigen at Scamazon...between those two ?
Yes, in my experience the sharpness of the edge is only a consideration when using a case without a lip or going caseless.

I’ve been using the Spigen for quite a few years (along with trying a number of others) and I’ve never had an issue with touch sensitivity.

The Torras has a black border, which solves the rainbow issue. But, because the phone bezels are so narrow this year, the border on the Torras may slightly encroach on the screen if your installation isn’t perfect. Neither issue is that big of a deal, but so far it seems it’s one or the other, pick your poison.

I have to imagine most of these screen protectors are made at the same factory. I doubt these companies are making their own protectors. Some, like the Belkin, seem way over priced, probably banking on being “Apple endorsed” and selling in the Apple Store. I’d say Spigen, Torras, ESR, and a few others are very close to being identical in quality, mainly differing in border vs no border, and installation method. There are some ultra cheapies on Amazon I’d stay away from, but Belkin, Zagg, and arguably even FloLab are in my opinion overpriced and more hype than substance. YMMV.

I’d have to disagree with your statement that says flolab is overpriced. Solely on the fact that they have world class anti-effectiveness on lock. I have yet to see any other company implement that, that well. But yeah I do agree the rest shouldn’t be as high priced as they are. I’d say 20-25 tops for the rest of them in my opinion

Coverage. Has a smidge more than the others I’ve tried. And the smoothness. Honestly I’m holding out to see how it handles dust build up. That’s what I hated the most about the amfilm. I can put up with the rainbow if it had it, I’d just pretend it’s the new Siri lol

Fair enough regarding FloLab. Not worth it for me, but at least what they’re offering is different than these other nearly identical products.

Not sure, but to me the coverage seems identical to the Spigen. The Belkin is thinner though (.29 vs .5 mm), which is noticeable in that the raised lip of the Apple Silicone is a little higher above the touch surface, which is a good thing.

It’ll be interesting to see how it holds up. On the Belkin site there are some pretty scathing reviews with some saying the protector broke in their pocket with no drops or other impacts.

I hear you regarding the dust around the edges. I’ve yet to find a screen protector that doesn’t do that. If this one is noticeably better I’ll definitely overlook any other issues in favor of a clean edge.

I guess we will have to see! Luckily if it does break, my shellrus should be in by then and I can swap over lol only downside of sapphire protectors is that they are even more reflective than regular ones 🙁

Think I'll stick with my ESR Armorite for the time being. I do have the Spigen & Torras on deck just in case.

Skip the Torras, especially if you don’t use a case. Just wrote my opinion on it, in the Torras thread. Really disappointed.

I think the best solution is to wait until Torras revises their screen protector. Last year the black borders of the initial product also covered a bit of the screen on the 15 pro and then they released an updated one which was a separate listing on amazon. The updated Torras on my 15 pro is perfect, they even rounded the edges which is perfect for those who dont run a case and dont want to feel or see the protector.

I’m just running the esr for now. I had to try hard to even see small rainbow effect that’s only visible from certain angles.

I installed the Torras on my 16 pro max. Quite happy with it, it covers almost the whole screen.

Does the esr have rounded corners?

yeah so last year, i went with launch day torras for my 15 Pro Max. Other than the covering of the display a little bit (and especially off axis), it was alright. Didn’t have any problems so I didn’t even know a better version got released later on (diashield) until now

decided to take a longer look for screen protectors this year for my 16 Pro Max especially since the bezels looks super thin

After reading all of the threads on this forum, i’ve decided to go with the cheapest protector i could find and see if a company comes out with improved protectors later on.

So my pick was the ESR 3 pack with no special installation tray for $5.99 on amazon. I wrote ESR off back when I had a 13 Pro Max (because i kept getting bubbles that eventually covered half of the screen after only a month) but for $6 I can give them a second chance

If ESR doesn’t work out for me, it’s spigen next.

It seems one of the biggest differences between these various screen protectors is the thickness. I was surprised they vary so much:

Belkin UltraGlass 2 - .29 mm
ESR Armorite - .30 mm
FloLab - .33 mm
Spigen Glas.tR - .51 mm
Torras GlassGo - .71 mm

The thinner protectors are preferred when using cases with a shallow lip and may also have slightly better touch sensitivity.

Looks good! Ordered this one too. Some reviews say the black borders take a little bit of the screen. Can you confirm?
I have the Torras on my PM. It does slightly cover the “L”s. Otherwise, quite happy with it. No bubbles, no lifting at the edges. It’s been on the phone since I took it out of the box last Friday.

My thoughts on the ESR screen protector (iPhone 16PM) Amazon ESR screen protector $5.98

What does six bucks get you? Apparently, a screen protector that's all tease and no please. On my iPhone 16 Pro Max, it's a near miss, ending before the bezel. Why can't we get edge-to-edge perfection? Now I envision dust particles living it up around the edges. My pics highlight the flaws. If full coverage matters, look elsewhere.

Doesn’t look like there’s any consensus this year. I absolutely loved the WSKEN (with earpiece cover) on my 15 PM but as I wait for the 16PM to arrive it doesn’t look great lol.
Also, IMO anything thicker than.33 will be more prone to the rainbow effect.

So i installed the clear tray torras, and the installation was perfect, no bubbles, very easy and i can see all the L's in camera app. Everything is perfect except one thing, its a dust magnet, never had a screen protector that collected so much dust on the edges and its annoying. Im going caseless and still thinking about just going without a screen protector this year as i have apple care anyway.
