So i installed the clear tray torras, and the installation was perfect, no bubbles, very easy and i can see all the L's in camera app. Everything is perfect except one thing, its a dust magnet, never had a screen protector that collected so much dust on the edges and its annoying. Im going caseless and still thinking about just going without a screen protector this year as i have apple care anyway.
Exactly my experience with the Torras with black border, also caseless with AC+ and considering no SP as well.

Yep belkin picks up dust to. Can’t wait for my shellrus with the black border to come
In.
That's going to cover up a small proportion of the screen, all the way round, so it's what you're willing to sacrifice.
I have the Belkin UltraGlass 2, and can hardly complain, it's super smooth, very thin, no bubbles or dust underneath the protector and very little rainbowing effect at an angle.

Don’t bring me down like that. I can only hope it won’t lol

Sadly it will, as the bezels are so thin on the 16. I'd honestly keep on the UltraGlass 2, if it's installed correctly, but maybe you'll tell me I'm wrong afterwards!

My OCD got the better of me with the ESR fitted slightly more to the bottom producing a minor rainbow effect at the top and I removed it and tried the Torras (transparent install tray).

Glad I did! Went on bubble free and the tiniest, tiniest encroach by the black border. Less noticeable than the rainbows I had before. Looks so much better as the edge is hardly perceivable with the Apple Silicone case on as it's very close to the case lip. The oleobic coating is slippier too.
The reported sharp edge is impossible to feel with case on so I guess the only issue there will be dust collecting, that was an issue with the ESR also and to be fair, you'll get dust in the gap to the case with any protector. Can't see that ever changing as you need a gap so's not to lift the protectors off when removing a case.

So yeah, I think I'm happy with this for now. The Belkin may well be a better option but with no local Apple Store and not wanting to risk an install with a delivered one that doesn't have the risk free install the store bought one does....I'll stick to the Torras until a better option arrives.

Thanks for your report. Are you noticing any issues with touch sensitivity? The Torras is over twice as thick as the Belkin UG2 and ESR Armorite. I recall in years past some reports of diminished touch sensitivity with the Torras, but haven’t heard either way this year.

I had touch issues with the ESR, I put it down to the reported widespread 16 Pro Max touch problems that a lot of others are experiencing too.
Just tried something I noticed with the ESR that the delete button didn't always register a tap, same with this one too. Hopefully the next update resolves it.

Regarding thickness, I can feel a little more lip on the Apple case than I could with the ESR so I would say it is thinner. Mine wasn't the Amorite though (which is thinner?), it was this one:

Yeah, it may be difficult to separate issues with iOS 18 vs the screen protector.

Here are the thicknesses of some of the screen protectors being discussed:

Belkin UltraGlass 2 - .29 mm
ESR Armorite - .30 mm
FloLab - .33 mm
Spigen Glas.tR - .51 mm
Torras GlassGo - .71 mm

PS - It looks like the standard tempered glass ESR you posted above is the same thickness as the Armorite (.30 mm).

my Torras was (clear tray) was difficult to install but i did get it bulb free with all L's showing in the camera app.

i do think the sharp edge is partially due to the thickness of the protector relative to the competitors. yet, i would love to get a spec/measurement on the the diamond shield version for the 15 pro which people report as having a very smooth edge.

i've been in a long back and forth (1 email a day) with Torras. they took my comments to heart (at least on paper) and they say they will ship me a new protector set once they have revised the design. who knows when or whether this will happen, but cautiously hopeful based on comments that they did improve the 15 pro protector after initial release.

Did you order through Amazon? I would like to do the same thing.

Someone mentioned in another thread that these are rebranded Torras:

We installed on a friend's 16 Pro. Max. Seems fairly thick and does slightly block the edges of the "L"'s in the camera app..

I just got this screen protector. Hopefully that doesn't happen with mine.

With that name I wonder how long it will be before they get a cease and desist notice from Belkin… lol.

Today I replaced my ESR protector and applied the Belkin, was an easy application with no bubbles at all and I’m also experiencing no touch issues now, can finally type with ease.

The revised "DiaSheild" was night and day better last year. I'm hoping for the same this year

Are these other brands overall better than the Flolab? Flolab has a lifetime guarantee… do others have the same?

For the Belkin, how do you find the edges? And is there any "rainbowing" going on?
