Is that through Belkin or Apple? If Apple, will they provide installation for the replacement?
Belkin, but you just ask for an Apple installed replacement and once you get it take it back to Apple to install. Very easy.

I hope I can ask this here. I didn't find a thread for the regular models (maybe I'll need to create my own).

What are people using for the regular iPhone 16? Is it exactly the same as the iPhone 15?

It sounds like the glass has slightly curved edges, so does that mean I should be looking for one with a black border for more of an edge-to-edge fit...like we had to do with some of the older iPhones? That's what I ended up having to do with my XS and it's practically invisible when the leather case is on it. Hoping to find something that gets close to the edge as possible, while leaving room for the silicone and/or clear case.

Just installed Spigen with 16promax. Install was flawless. Seems pretty decent to me. I think in this kind of thread, there should really be a distinction made between phones which are case-less and those which use a case. I’m using a Torras 360° magnetic O stand case. With this spigen protector, there’s still a little bit of a lip between the glass and any surface you place the phone face down on, but not very much. I would like that to be a little more ideally

I got the ultraglass2 installed at an Apple Store. Fitting is perfect, no bubbles, no dust, no rainbow.
It is perfectly positioned on the screen.

For a casual observer, it is absolutely perfect. Readability indoor is perfect, it does affect typing as it’s rather slippery

What I did notice however is that outdoor, in full sun, it makes the screen harder to read. It also shows hundreds of tiny micro scratches.
I walked back inside the Apple Store and they look at it and couldn’t see anything wrong. Of course they wouldn’t step outside the store (Apple visitor centre) to see what I was talking about.
They offered to swap it but after waiting 15 minutes and feeling that this would be an issue with all screens it just walked out.

So I don’t regret it. While expensive I do feel like the service is worth the money.

It’s not perfect for the reason I mentioned above. But I’m not sure if any screen protectors ever are

Is there any screen protector for 16 Pro Max currently that has no gaps or minimal gap? im using Torras now and don't like the gap on the sides specially with the silicone case

just installed the $6 3pack ESR protector on my 16PM. Not going to lie i’m surprised how much i like it.

I literally cannot find any “rainbowing” like others have complained about. ymmw i guess

Only thing i would rather have is more coverage of the screen. It only covers the display but not the bezels. Would be fine if i used a case but I don’t.

However for $6 for a 3pack, im more than satisfied. Torras for 4-5x more expensive and it has a black border that cuts into the display a little bit makes no sense for me.

A single Torras screen protector lasted me a whole year for my 15PM, so depending on how fast i go through these ESR ones, I hope by then better protectors will come out that don’t have any negatives.

One detail to note about the Torras protectors is that they’re unusually thick (.71mm vs around .30mm for most other premium brands). Perhaps that is better for going caseless (not sure?), but it is certainly a liability when using a case, particularly if it’s one with an already shallow front lip.

have past Torras protectors (like the Diamond shield for the 15 series) traditionally been this thick. this is my first foray into Torras protectors after using a bunch of other brands over the years.

the question is whether their promised new version will have a more rounded edge at that thickness. I can only guess it's that thickness which allows them to advertise the 12 ft drop protection.

Could be because if there was no gap, it would cover the speaker hole at the top.

As it is now, the gap is consistent all across the edges

I don’t know specifically about the Diamond Shield, but the Torras protectors I’ve had were all thicker than other brands.

I understand that but even with the speaker hole it seems that they could approach more the speaker hole, for example on Torras there is still a gap between the speaker hole and the protector

Anybody used this Ultraglass sold on amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0D6NPL7XC/?tag=mrforums-20&th=1 ?

If used this one can you post some pictures? how is the gap on the edge like Torras?
There's a few pictures in the Amazon reviews (for the 16 Pro Max).

But yeah... Wish people would post more pictures here and state which phone size they have and whether they use a case or not. Their definition of a 'perfect fit' is going to be different than ours. Also, just because a brand has a perfect fit on one phone size...it doesn't necessarily mean they'll have the same perfect fit on another phone size. (You would hope they have the same tolerances, but it's not a guarantee.)

Yeah, it may be difficult to separate issues with iOS 18 vs the screen protector.

Here are the thicknesses of some of the screen protectors being discussed:

Belkin UltraGlass 2 - .29 mm
ESR Armorite - .30 mm
FloLab - .33 mm
Spigen Glas.tR - .51 mm
Torras GlassGo - .71 mm

PS - It looks like the standard tempered glass ESR you posted above is the same thickness as the Armorite (.30 mm).
Thanks for this, I had no idea there was such a big difference in thicknesses. Weren't people wanting thin ones at one point, so a lot of screen protectors were advertising to be .30/.33mm? Now a lot of the Amazon listings don't even state the thicknesses anymore.

Regarding the Torras one (maybe even the Spigen too), does it stick above the Apple cases? I have the silicone case and usually lay my phone upside down on the rim of the case. The screen doesn't touch my desk. Wondering if I use a thicker one, if it'd be laying on the glass instead?

Just received this from FloLab after complaining about the bezels on the 16 Pro:
FWIW: The AR coating, thinness, and smoothness on both the edges and glass itself was noticeable compared to my Torras protectors
Our Plans:

We’re excited to share that we’re already working on a new version of our screen protector with slimmer borders to better fit the iPhone 16 Pro / Pro Max’s updated design. This version will have smaller bezels to ensure no part of your screen is covered.

Additionally, we’re developing a hot bending curved glass version, which will feature a larger glass area for even better edge-to-edge coverage and protection.

Your Options:

Updated Screen Protector: We can prioritize sending you the new version as soon as it’s released in mid October.

Hot Bending Curved Glass: If you’re interested, we can reserve one for you once it becomes available.

I haven’t tried the latest Torras in combination with the latest Apple Silicone so I can’t say for sure, but in years past there was still just a tiny lip above the screen protector. On my 16 Pro Max I did try the Spigen which left just a very small lip. The Belkin, at .29mm, left enough of a lip to feel better. Those two protectors are similar in most ways, but the extra lip tips it to the Belkin for me.

I'm using the Torras with the Silicone case and is thick but does not stick out of the case the case still touches the surface first.

Always liked Torras protectors but this year it seems nobody is doing right.... the gap and thickness of Torras bother me but heard that the gap on ESR Amorite is bigger than Torras.

I wouldn't bother with any of the black border screen protectors coming in from China right now. Perhaps by next year they would have re-designed and updated the templates.
