Sounds cool? They literally have been making cases for decades 🤣🤣Not surprising that the 17 Air’s battery would suck, but the idea of a battery case sounds cool, but then again, defeats the purpose of the 17 Air

So basically they are saying you can rock an ultra thin phone most of the time but if you plan on having a heavy usage day you can use your battery case. That might work well for some people — especially if the Air won’t last all day at say an amusement park when taking photos and using the battery-hungry park app. But if the Air does not last all day with light usage then it kinda defeats the purpose as you say.Not surprising that the 17 Air’s battery would suck, but the idea of a battery case sounds cool, but then again, defeats the purpose of the 17 Air
I find myself using my iPad Pro M4 more frequently because of how great it feels compared to the M1.
I imagine I won’t have to carry the case around with me everywhere I go.Sure, but would you feel the same if you had to attach a chunky battery case to your iPad. Would not this reduce its current appeal?
Same here... and with normal use (not relying on maps etc.) I can ~two days out of a single charge. For everything else, power banks DO exist.People got scared off by reviewers about the battery life. They always exaggerate for the clicks/views. In my experience, it easily lasts the whole day of heavy usage while traveling (so lots of camera and Maps/GPS usage)
The Problem IMHO isn’t the battery, it’s more how Apps drain Batterylife. Example: WhatsApp is a nightmare.
Apple's rumored iPhone 17 Air model will have "worse" battery life compared to previous iPhone models, according to a paywalled The Information report.

In internal testing, Apple determined that the percentage of users who will be able to use the iPhone 17 Air for a full day without needing to recharge the device throughout the day will be between 60% and 70%, according to the report. For other iPhone models, the report said that metric is apparently between 80% and 90%.
The reduced battery life is due in part to the iPhone 17 Air's ultra-thin 5.5mm design, which would make it the thinnest iPhone ever.
To mitigate this problem, the report said that Apple is planning to release a battery case as an optional accessory for the iPhone 17 Air.
Apple last released battery cases for the iPhone 11 lineup, followed by the since-discontinued MagSafe Battery Pack for iPhone 12 models and newer. A battery case both protects an iPhone and provides additional battery life as necessary.
The report added that Apple's supply chain is uncertain about how much demand there will be for the iPhone 17 Air, given it will be an all-new model with a unique form factor. As a result, the suppliers are initially only dedicating about 10% of production capacity for the iPhone 17 series to the iPhone 17 Air, according to the report.
The report reiterated that the iPhone 17 Air will have only a single speaker, a single rear camera, and no SIM card slot worldwide.
Apple is expected to release the iPhone 17 Air in September.

iP15+. Easily 5 days. But not using internet all the time. Not "married" to a phone. Just a phone and authorization tool.Anyone remember the days when you could get a week or more of battery life from a phone
Again, nearly every previous iPhone for the past 5+ years had a battery case made by apple in some way shape or form. This isn't new for the Air.In what world is this acceptable. SMH time for a new team over there.
I absolutely hate the weight and size of current phones, they absolutely tug on my pockets as I walk especially if I am wearing sporty clothing like basketball shorts. It also takes up tons of space in my pocket. Id argue who cares about battery life. My house has like 15 chargers everywhere including wireless ones on the couch. My car has a wireless charger (cooled too!), and when I get into work I have a charger as well (I am an app developer so I often plug it in for testing etc anyways). The only time I need to use my battery is when I go to the store or pickup my kids from school.Unless you personally weigh 50kg who cares about the weight of something in your pocket that might tip you sideways? Processing power is now irrelevant, too, because it's beyond amazing already and nobody is editing video on their phone. It's just BATTERY LIFE, Stupid.
Why not wait until Apple officially releases something.I was absolutely going to buy one as soon as it came out. Now I’m absolutely not going to buy one.
I agree with your post except for the EV comment. Most americans don't live in a single family home, and therefore are at the mercy of their apartment complex/condo association to provide EV charging, which almost none do and the few that do have like 1-2 for 1000 residents. This means you have to go to a public charger and sit for 30-40 minutes every few days which is definitely a "hell no" from me.The way you guys are talking about battery life, you’d think that you don’t have a charger in the car, at home, or at work.
Reminds me of the people that crap all over EVs. They complain that 250 miles isn’t enough, 350 miles isn’t enough. Even 400 miles isn’t enough. They aren’t satisfied until EVs can go 600 miles per charge.
But in the end, most people that are going to get the most out of an EV are perfectly capable of doing their daily routines with even a 200 mile range and plug in when they get home.
In reference to the iPhone 17 Air specifically, there will still be an iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and the iPhone 16e. No one is forcing you to get the Air, so…
Sure, but would you feel the same if you had to attach a chunky battery case to your iPad. Would not this reduce its current appeal?
You don't HAVE to nor do you NEED to use a battery case. Believe it or not you CAN actually use this phone without said case, and for the record iPad batteries have always sucked and it would have been nice if Apple did make a battery case. Why won’t I buy a pro if I need to use the battery case with my air?
Not everyone is obsessed with cameras, I barely use mine. I am buying this because I hate the thickness and bulk of current phones but want a large screen.this is will be a bad buy. one camera? are you serious? bad battery life?
god knows why people would buy this.
We dont know that.So you gotta make the phone fat again to get decent battery life. Genius stuff from Apple.
I already hate having to charge every day, I can’t think of recharging multiple times during the day…..The way you guys are talking about battery life, you’d think that you don’t have a charger in the car, at home, or at work.

I don't think the Air will be around for long!
