That was a nice keynote. I really miss those. Current pre-cooked ones are terrible. Products have less impact nowadays because of that. For maximum effect, Tim could unveil the iPhone 17 Air from a smaller #10 envelope.

I agree and came here to say the same thing as you! I don't understand why Apple is obsessed with thinness (other than weight I guess). I have a 13 mini and the thickness of it is perfectly fine, and the overall width and height are perfect and what I wish Apple would focus more on. It's all about how it fits in your hand, and the reachability and how usable a phone can be one handed. With the 13 mini I can reach across the entire screen and hit any button one handed with my thumb. I had an XR previously and when I tried to do that I would almost drop the phone - it was impossible. I'd almost rather smaller phone that is slightly thicker than the 13 mini so the battery life could be close to the larger phones.I know I am very much in the minority, but can we just get & keep a solid SMALL phone in the iPhone lineup? I miss the 13 Mini. I don’t think I will buy another phone until forced to at this rate, because I don’t want a huge slab of glass in my pocket
I'm kind of wondering if it's a test platform for new battery chemistry. Selling something with Mini-level battery performance (or worse) wouldn't make a lot of sense at this point.Still can’t get my head round why it’s priced above a Pro Max
I just want the pro to come in different sizes so I can buy the one that fits my hand.
No one asked for the iPhone either - and that’s exactly what killed Nokia…literally no one asked for this. They may as well just release a mini.
Or perhaps phones have become so feature bloated, complex, large and bulky, that there is a large enough segment of people who prefer a simpler, less bulky, high quality phone and may be willing to pay a premium for it. The iPhone Air experiment, if it materializes, will test that hypothesis by providing an option targeted to that presumed segment. I’m excited to participate in that experiment.Same answer to both of the above posts: Great profitability for AAPL. It fulfills the corp need to get to keep spinning "another record quarter." 💰💰💰
Also, priced above Pro Max- if true- because Apple thinks fans will pay more than Pro Max for it. If they thought people would pay more than Vpro for it, it would be priced above Vpro. 💰💰💰
Now through the other lens: customers could reject this product because they collectively feel it is priced too high... as many seems to have done with Vpro. Or reject because "we" no longer want "thinner" at the expense of some functionality or battery or whatever is compromised to support it. But the big question is: will customers vote with their wallets (as a group)?
Other than Vpro, there is a long history of Apple charging whatever they want for new stuff and people falling all over themselves to try to buy, buy, buy. That trains Apple executives to expect that outcome. Customers as a group can either teach them a lesson OR reinforce this idea that "we" will buy (almost) anything... and pay anything for it.
Because it will be a Flip iPhone! It’s obvious. That would explain everything!I would expect two display sizes for the Air lineup, as is usual - so why do these rumors still only mention a 6,6" phablet? It's nice that it's thin, but still HUGE.
Is very likely that iPhone Air will have a higher price if you consider that it may be a Flip iPhone (and that would be indeed the secret feature).I don't know where The Information is getting that from, but up until now all rumors have pointed to the Air being priced less than a Pro and Pro Max
A Flip iPhone?? A lot of people, except MR posters.I don't know who wants a phone like this ?
And what if the Air is a Flip iPhone?or a iPhone Pro Mini
This is the unexpected Flip iPhone, my friend!Reading the specifications this sounds like the new iPhone SE. Are you sure this isn’t the iPhone SE?
This is the key of everything, people! This is especially true for Samsung who will go full-spec and full-price, whereas their first foldables were just full-hype.
Who told you that the Air will aim that market?? It will be the first Flip iPhone, just connect the dots! It's a low spec phone clearly aimed at teens & the elderly.
Exactly!!!you forgot #11, the first foldable iPhone
Like CD, Dvd, and floppy drives before it is an obsolete technology.Wait, is launching without something (physical sim card tray) considered a feature? 🤣
I wish they would let me disable it or disable certain apps like Music from using it.I love Dynamic Island and it looks fine. Hence why android Oems copy it
How can you criticize the price of a product not yet released (and not even confirmed) ?Still can’t get my head round why it’s priced above a Pro Max
What’s wrong with 8 GB of RAM on an iPhone ?8GB of RAM is the worst thing about it.
I hope it has the anti reflective coating that the Pros will have and the same main camera sensor as well. It makes no sense removing features by having less specs than the non pro. It should be closer to the Pros.
I’m not using any physical SIM since iPhone 14…Wait, is launching without something (physical sim card tray) considered a feature? 🤣
No they don’t . Dynamic Island is the implementation for FaceID, it is not outdated nor huge.Apple needs to give up on the dynamic island. That huge notch on their phones and laptops makes them look so outdated in the store.
I can see people looking for that kind of iPhone. It really depends on price and battery life.I don't know who wants a phone like this ?
It makes sense to have it priced like an iPhone Plus (but with a ProMotion display).Other reports indicate the iPhone will fit into the slot - and price point - of the iPhone Plus. You’re just choosing to believe this one. Let’s wait and see, shall we?
It was a really remarkable event, even if we know that MacBook Air was flawed with some limits. For maximum effect, Tim could unveil the iPhone 17 Air from a smaller #10 envelope.

It is a feature. It is an implementation for FaceID, which is a very good feature.Mac Rumors, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop calling the dynamic island a "feature." It's not a feature, it's an excuse.
Ever heard about the faceID ? Not doable with those ridiculous holepunch camera.Nobody is copying the huge notch, lol. Everyone else has a tiny holepunch camera.
The reason is one, and very relevant: FaceID.A reason why I still stick with my iPhone 12 Pro. it's a gimmick. no reason to not go full screen at this point.
The only point I don’t like is the single speaker, on such an expensive device. Camera will be limited, but clearly the target is a customer with no specific needs for that. But the single speaker is hard to swallow …Too many trade offs just to have a thinner phone. Think I'll pass on this one.
Are we speaking about Apple or Samsung ? Pencil on a phone is ridiculous for me.I would love to see support for the Apple Pencil.
Nah, “dynamic island” is an excuse. The cam can be put behind the screen. Give us more screen. This is the trend Apple has been moving towards every year with a slightly larger phone.I can see people looking for that kind of iPhone. It really depends on price and battery life.
