Well. It would be very strange if a product with air in the name would be heavy.Sort of surprised that there is not more fanfare about “iPhones 17 Air” being light weight.

You can add bendgate 2 to the list.
While the so-called "iPhone 17 Air" is not expected to launch until September, there are already plenty of rumors about the "ultra-thin" device.

Overall, the "iPhone 17 Air" is shaping up to be a mixed bag. Due to its thinness, the device is expected to have some limited specifications compared to the iPhone 17 Pro models, including only a single rear camera, only a single speaker, no SIM card slot worldwide, and an A19 chip instead of the more powerful A19 Pro chip. Of course, the device will also be equipped with a smaller battery than other iPhone 17 models.
Below, we recap 10 key changes rumored for the "iPhone 17 Air" as of January 2025:

You should study a little more before posting. It is not just a cam, and it cannot be put behind the screen (at least not yet). FaceID requires a few elements, like an IR illumination, to work properly, in a secure way, even during the night.Nah, “dynamic island” is an excuse. The cam can be put behind the screen. Give us more screen. This is the trend Apple has been moving towards every year with a slightly larger phone.
That really scares me… a 5.5 mm thin iPhone will be a nightmare. You can add bendgate 2 to the list.
It will temporary fulfill apple's never ending pursue of thinness.what does this phone accomplish? what need does it fulfill?
there is only big and biggerPros do come in two sizes. Have you tried the smaller one in-store yet??
inflation perhapsStill can’t get my head round why it’s priced above a Pro Max
Nah, “dynamic island” is an excuse. The cam can be put behind the screen. Give us more screen. This is the trend Apple has been moving towards every year with a slightly larger phone.
Disagree. We have a robot on Mars. You’re telling me the richest company in tech can’t figure this out? At least give me the tiny hole punch like Samsung. Marketing the “Dynamic Island” as a feature is an excuse. Don’t kid yourself. You should study a little more before posting. stop reading there.Disagree. We have a robot on Mars.
It’s money. Apple has a lot of it. Fix the big hole at the top of the screen. No one wants that 🤷♂️ but instead Apple is telling you it’s a “feature”. Imagine an equally big hole at the top of your windshield in a car. Yeah, you can look around it but it’s still prohibiting you from seeing content unobstructedstop reading there.
Very relevant 🤦🏻♂️
A car windshield … even more relevant than a mars roverIt’s money. Apple has a lot of it. Fix the big hole at the top of the screen. um ok.Be first, be smarter, or cheat. [Margin Call quote]
They will tie for 1st place with Samsung, whose S25 Slim is expected to be announced on Jan-22 and launched on May. In view of this showdown, both companies have already postponed launch dates, as first won't be enough. This is especially true for Samsung who will go full-spec and full-price, whereas their first foldables were just full-hype. Apple is trying to play low-spec and high-price, but clearly the pricing will be adjusted after Samsung Slim presentation & assessment.
Flip phones can die in a fire. Just a fragile gimmick. And what if the Air is a Flip iPhone?
Stop kidding yourself. You’re drinking the Apple juice. We have to move forward instead of marketing excuses🤷♂A car windshield … even more relevant than a mars rover
I am an engineer, so I know something cannot be done yet. Under the screen camera are awful (see Samsung foldable) and cannot take all the sensors needed for FaceID.Stop kidding yourself. You’re drinking the Apple juice. We have to move forward instead of marketing excuses🤷♂
Absolutely agree.Flip phones can die in a fire. Just a fragile gimmick.
I have the "standard" sized Pro this year and it has gotten WAY too big dimensionally. I miss the Mini, but I also appreciate more screen real estate. We have the Plus/Max for the weirdos who want a phablet, can we please STOP bloating the standard phone's dimensions EVERY SINGLE YEAR??? I have big hands, yet one-handed manipulation is still darn near impossible these days.I know I am very much in the minority, but can we just get & keep a solid SMALL phone in the iPhone lineup? I miss the 13 Mini. I don’t think I will buy another phone until forced to at this rate, because I don’t want a huge slab of glass in my pocket
That’s the reason Apple will launch a flip iPhone in the future.I have the "standard" sized Pro this year and it has gotten WAY too big dimensionally. Yet the article headline literally states “10 new features” which would imply…features. eSIM is not a new feature, well, except for the IPhone air or whatever they wanna call it. I’d hardly call it a feature at all.It reads as limitation for being the thinnest iPhone, rather than a feature. the post literally uses the words "limited specifications".
