Why would they run into battery issues if they already make an ultra thin battery for the iPad Pro?
That's the first thought that came to my mind as well. For this, I call this rumour bs.
Why would they run into battery issues if they already make an ultra thin battery for the iPad Pro?
Apple thinks this will help their stock price, somehow.I’m struggling to see the point behind making this change. If no one is buying the plus just drop the model entirely.
Can someone enlighten me?
The iPad Pro M4 batteries are way too big for the iPhone. They are thin yes, but occupy a much larger area due to the size differences between the devices. If they kept the thinness but shrunk the area, it would be unlikely to meet the capacity requirements to run the iPhone. Why would they run into battery issues if they already make an ultra thin battery for the iPad Pro?
I hope not. The lineups are getting more and more complicated. They'll just add it in somewhere and it will have an odd and hard to comprehend compromise or two and just add to buyer confusion
I swear it's like Tim's big plan to just confuse every buyer, for all Apple products, until they just relent and buy whatever the more expensive option is for theoretical future/feature proofing
It seems that Apple has run out of ideas, and there’s little breakthrough elsewhere. Hmm I wonder why.
People still want thin iPhone but putting a case on it defeats the entire purpose. So maybe people don’t want a thin iPhone? Or the silent majority just doesn’t care?
I think you are 100% correct
It's just rearranging the deck chairs every year now
I hope not. The lineups are getting more and more complicated.
We're far from Steve Jobs' simplicity.
But you're probably right. It will probably follow the iPad lineups, where we have no real clue if the "iPad Air" is better than the "iPad".

I agreeFragmenting the iPhone lineup even more is a big mistake. Too many segments and sizes.
AgreedThinner isn’t the iPhone’s problem…
…it’s stagnation and fragmentation.
But the battery cell is still very thinWith triple the horizontal/vertical space for battery? It's not like the folded phone is very thin.
Well they added satellite phone call capability which most folks aren't even aware of, and are building-up AI features, etc.. but it's true, for the average Joe who uses the phone to check his emails and call the kids, it's hard to come up with a game-changer sort of innovation every year, hence the need for the iPhone Air.I think you are 100% correct

The point is the potential customers should never have to do an analysis.Just use the comparison on the website, it clearly shows that the Air is better than the base iPad.
Agreed on all fronts. 5s was still the greatest iPhone, perfect size and hand feel.“Air” is just another marketing scheme name now
(Like “Pro”)
Love seeing that 5S though!
From the GOAT 🐐 era
Unmatched in hand feel
(Also, make another Mini please)
The point is the potential customers should never have to do an analysis.
They need to understand right away what's better and what's not.
"Analysis Paralysis"
What about cars? Get rid of all options there too right?
