Andar came through with flying colors: U.S. warehouse, fast shipping, great tracking, everything went perfectly. Suti and a few others could learn a thing or two from them.
A couple of things to mention regarding build quality. The fit is very good for a leather case, which I don’t expect to fit as perfectly as a molded TPU case. I’d say it’s on par with the old Apple leather cases. There is a slight bulge in the lip (very slight) above the camera control, and the clearance at the USB port is tight, but neither are a big deal. The buttons are very good—clicky and precise, with no rattles. Probably the biggest drawback is the weight, which is 37 grams, compared to 32 for the Beats, and 21(!) for the Apple Clear. With the Aspen on the Air it’s still lighter than the naked 17 Pro Max by 20 grams, so it’s not a deal killer for me.
There was some question about the metal camera ring and whether it might affect reception. I ran some tests using Ookla and the results were consistent with and without the case on, so no worries there. This was with the case on:

I haven’t had a leather case in a while, pretty much since Apple quit making them. I had forgotten how much I enjoy the feel of leather cases, and this Andar, on this phone, is luxurious. We’ll see how it weathers over time, but for now I’m stoked.
