This may have been posted already…those that received their Suti phone backs…do you have a gap at the top?

Here is an excerpt of a review that was posted on Suti’s website yesterday:

“The top part has a tiny bit of a gap you can press down. There was the same with the top edges on the backs for the iPhone 16 Pro Max as well. Not super obvious, but something to point out.”

It doesn’t sound like a deal breaker, but curious of other’s feedback. My alpine orange phone back for 17 pro is scheduled for delivery today. I’ll be able to handle it after work. If it is a banger, I am hoping they offer carbon fiber.

There seems to be a very tiny gap and i can press down on camera plateau on clear version
It seems all the phone back type cases/back plate have the same issue. I posted something similar about the Nomad leather back a few pages back. There’s not enough ridigity across the plateau to make the top part stiff enough to stay down, while also maintaining a slim profile.

I got this response from Nomad just now about the issue:

Thanks for taking the time to leave your thoughts on your recent Nomad gear and sorry to hear it isn't living up to your expectations. It sounds like we may have accidentally sent you a defective unit but we're happy to take a closer look!

elago silicone MagSafe case, Stone colour

The colour is OK, but in retrospect I think I would have been better off getting a different colour. The grey "Stone" colour looks a bit drab against the Cosmic Orange, and is probably better suited to the silver iPhone.

Note that the MagSafe ring is not exposed like it might seem in that picture. It's covered by the soft material that lines the case. Also, the MagSafe ring is not marked on the outside of the case. It's just blank there (which I prefer). MagSafe strength is pretty good.

The silicone is a bit more grippy than the phone itself (which I find mildly slippery), but it's not ultra grippy. All the buttons feel good, and the Camera Control button works with the capacitive features. I paid all of CA$15 (US$11) plus tax. This should serve me well until I can find a decent quality leather quality case I like.

BTW, remember that wireless antennae are located in the camera plateau, so it would be advisable to avoid cases with a metal support ring or a metal stand built into the camera ring of the case. The last leather case I got used a metal ring to strengthen the camera ring so I returned it. For that leather case I also didn't like the plain cutout for the Camera Control.
I got the blue one for my blue PM. Perfect match and it feels very close to the Apple ones. Slightly more grippy and less supple. For less than 1/4 of the price of the Apple one, I think it's a good buy!

After hating my usual go to this year, the Spigen Ultra Hybrid, I checked out a similar case by Torras and it's AWESOME! The back is frosted and feels almost like silicone. Sides have a soft feel but still grippy. Comes with 2 extra sets of buttons (red and yellow). Camera control button is responsive and sliding works perfectly. I usually get a case when I get a new phone, and end up going caseless most of the time after a few weeks, but I think this one is staying on long term.

Loooved the Torras Guardian on my 15 PM but closing the mag safe ring here on the new case is just UGH sadly 😭 they feel awesome otherwise, I agree.

Got the Torras magnetic slim fit for the silver 17 Pro. Really want a fully clear case this year but not a fan of TPU, so my choices were limited.

Fits snug with no noticeable wiggle room when installed, but not as difficult to remove as something like a Pitaka. Very happy with how clear it is and how it feels in hand. Not too heavy either (337g with the OrigArmor screen protector).

Small nitpicks:

1. The MagSafe ring is a full circle and covers half of the Apple logo
2. The lips around the screen and camera bar are a bit sharp.
3. No camera control button - doesn’t bother me but I know a lot of you care about this

The best clear case I had, was the Lucid clear case for my 15PM. That case never turned yellow, and lasted the entire time I used cases with my 15PM. It’s the only clear case I would’ve considered for the 17PM.

Love the silicone. Year after year I always go back to it. This year the fit is immaculate, buttons are super clicky and snappy, and I’ve never had an issue with lint.
Not to hate on the Apple silicone or any silicone for that matter but for me every time I put it in my pocket or put it down somewhere it’s just a super lint magnet which bothers me (I can see how someone who really likes this case that much can get over that fact) and the tacky feeling isn’t my favorite but otherwise it is a really great fitting case with nice colors for sure and you get to stunt the Apple logo lol

Apple silicone midnight or Pitaka Moonrise for 17 pro max deep blue?
Two completely different cases.

My choice easily would be Pitaka Moonrise but I prefer ultra slim cases and aramid fiber feels and is more premium than Silicone.

It boils down to your preference but just be prepared for your midnight silicone to be a lint/fingerprint magnet which are the worst on darker silicone cases.

The Apple silicon case is a pretty average to below average case. It does have a good fit and its lined with microfiber though.

100% agree with the reasons you listed above, plus the color is going to wear off from the corners after a few weeks. I used one last year and no matter how gentle I was with the case the colors rubbed off from the sides. Never again for me
