I’ll check my scale again but the Sheath is definitely at least 32% heavier than the AS.
Your scale is fine. The Pro Max version has been right at 50 grams for the past few years.
They’re both very nice looking. I like the fact that the Mous has a polycarbonate frame that surrounds the plateau at the top. That, along with the TPE corners, undoubtedly makes it more protective in a hard drop. On the other hand, I prefer the precise cutouts of the Paragon, which with the more fragile finish this year is a big advantage over the open design. I guess overall I’d call it a draw. 😊Mous VS ParagonVery similar cases. IMO the Paragon blows the Mous away. Mous is prettier to look at and that's about it. The Paragon is way slimmer, Magsafe magnets are 10 times stronger, buttons are fantastic. The only con with the Paragon so far is the slippery back, it's like a greased pig 🐖

Only had the Sheath for my 15 Pro not prior. How was the Sheath when it truly minimal?

The original Sheath was very simple, thin, light, and felt great in the hand. Of course phones were smaller then, and MagSafe wasn’t a thing yet.
Back when Caudabe started, there weren’t really any cases that were minimalist that also had decent drop protection like the Sheath. Nowadays there are tons of competitors and I’d argue a number that do the minimalist thing better.
It makes you wonder if their heavy and dense Shocklite material was better suited to the smaller, thinner case designs.
Gotcha. It’s got to be the material, Shocklite.
I posted the specs and yes the Sheath is slightly smaller but almost a 1mm thicker than the AS. However I trust the Sheath way more when it comes to drop protection lets say from chest height.
What other cases offer do minimalist better without being boxy, all around same texture?

I have both and love them. They’re both pretty light and minimal. Techwoven is just slightly thinner but it’s barely noticeable, imo. Weight feels the same to me.
One example would be the Benks ArmorPro. I had one on my 16PM—it was full coverage with good drop protection, yet slim, relatively light, and super comfortable to hold. One of the best cases last year IMO.

First impressions of the Beats are very positive. I initially disregarded it because of the open bottom, but there was an open bottom on the old Apple leather cases, and I never had any problems with it back with the 7. It is much slimmer than the Sheath, at least 1mm thinner on the back. Its smooth, but the slightest bit of moisture on your hand and it becomes super grippy. I’ll see how I feel over the next few days, but it looks like the Sheath is getting returned.
It was the perfect case when it was truly minimal. Ever since the 12 at mid-cycle when they added magsafe they beefed it up drastically.
Sheath honestly feels very rushed this year. I much prefer the synthesis, even though its bit bulkier compared to sheath. I’m now trying the phone rebel air and it’s what sheath used to be - slim, minimal, with a snug fit. Snugger than the current generation sheath. I think the air and synthesis will be my go-to cases.
Anyone tried any Nillkin stuff for 17? Their cases used to be nice I think?
