I’m one who needs peak volume on my phone. I do online personal training and I’m on Zooms and FaceTimes all the time on my phone, I don’t use an iPad, just not into iPads, I’m pretty minimal and my phone is my do it all.I always thought “stereo” speakers on phones were a gimmick—there’s not enough physical separation between left and right to create a meaningful stereo effect. It’s like listening to surround sound on a standard stereo system—it’s not physically possible. The only real advantage is that the maximum volume might be louder with two speakers, but who cranks their phone to max volume anyway? That’s why we have AirPods.
Interesting semi-related trivia tidbit: Did you know that AirPod revenue on its own is larger than the entire rest of the audio industry combined? Mind boggling…
I don’t like using headphones for my sessions, I prefer hearing my clients through my phone speakers and still having a natural awareness of my environment while on my sessions.
I’m not the type who likes to wear headphones for an extended amount of time anyway. I use them mostly for music when I’m working out and that’s about it. So in my case that’s one of the reasons Air isn’t for me.
