Have always gone with the darker colour iPhones but quite like the silver frame showing through on the TW case.

How does the Andar Aspen compare to the Nomad Modern Leather (non-Horween), the Ryan London, Mujjo, and others on OP's list?

Basically I'm looking for something that will:

1. Fit and match an iPhone 17 Mist Blue
2. Is low profile. It doesn't have to be protective like an Otter Box, but just enough protection for the occasional casual drop. I don't want something too heavy duty.
3. Minimalistic. I don't want any giant logos on the back or any other kitchy designs.
4. Good texture. Grippy enough to hold well, but still smooth enough to go in and out of my pocket easily.
5. Durable enough that it survives the occasional drop, the natural oils of my hand over time etc... A patina would be nice if possible.
6. Ideally not too expensive. I see a lot of leather cases are in the $60-$70 USD range, so hopefully it's no more expensive than that.
7. Support for MagSafe and the camera control button. Also, it should have good buttons and just enough of a lip that I can lay the iPhone on its face if I need to.


Does such a case exist for the iPhone 17?

i had a nomad a few years ago. it only had leather on the back. the leather was lovely but scratched and was marked just by looking at it. i have a ryan london for my 16 pro. the leather and buttons are nice but the fit is off on the bottom. they must’ve remedied this but idk because they claimed it was intentionally with an open space by the usb port. other than that it is slim and nice. imo the andar is perfect. slim, even fit all around, great clicky buttons… as close to the og apple leather you can buy. but please don’t take my word only. get more opinions.

The silver in the Black TW looks good. My favorite of the Pro combos I’ve seen so far.

I ordered the Andar Aspen. Can't wait to get it. Will return my Apple clear case and Apple silicone case.

I’m disappointed to discover that the Andar Aspen does not have a camera control button. Just a hole for the phone’s button to poke through.

The thing I love about silver is you can really use any case and it will look really nice. That TW looks amazing

Looks good. I have the ESR case waiting for my blue pro max until I can check out some other cases and pick a more permanent one. I picked up a JETech case as well, frosted blue with open camera area. At some point I’ll grab a quad lock case for our Norway trip in February .

I umm’d and ahh’d too long, so no phone today, let’s see how long it takes to arrive.

What does the material on the back of the Nomad modern feel like? Is it just hard, slippery plastic?

Ordered 6 cases and I’m going to settle on this one by Elago. Not bad for $16.

I always get Elago as placeholder until something else is available (Nomad etc.) and for the price I haven't found anything better.

I've ordered a Cobalt Blue for my sister's orange 17 Pro Max and an Indigo Denim for my silver 17 Pro.

What does the material on the back of the Nomad modern feel like? Is it just hard, slippery plastic?

Yeah it's a hard slippery plastic with a matte finish so it doesn't show any fingerprints. The sides offer some grip at least.

I've now seen at least two scratched reviewer models and one dented corner on another site and I guess going caseless is a worse option than ever this year. Glad I got at least two air cushioned cases this year 😂

I might be in hell then because Im team naked. I think due yo the nature of these phones Im going to use cases as much as possible though. It doesn't help that I usually wear pants athletic pants with zippers 😕

i don’t think so. the andar aspen has a great cc button. i have two cases for my 16 pro. i just looked and the 17 series is the same.
