Speaking of Caudabe, what are everyone’s thoughts on the new Synthesis Frost case? I prefer hybrid cases (clear, frost or matte back with grippy material all around). This one seems like it could be a banger for the silver 17 pro, although not sure about the black MagSafe ring on the back.

Agreed I’m locked in on the Moonstone, my personal favorite of the Pitaka designs.

I bought a few cases that piqued my interest as I always do in the very beginning of the cycle but this year it wasn’t hard to find the one. Returned everything else.

I was already converted to Ultra Slim cases from the Benks ArmorAir last year and this year the Pitaka Ultra Slim with the PitaTap is the easy choice for me.

It keeps the phone staying closest to its true form factor and keeps it as light as can be as well with enough protection and grip as opposed to the naked phone.

I personally can’t even do regular cases anymore. Everything feels bulky and heavy to me especially with the 17 Pro Max already being thick. For me personally Ultra Slim cases will continue to be my go to and this year’s Pitaka doesn’t disappoint.
I'm with you on the no case or light case habit. I plan to go with no case most of the time, and only use the Pitaka when I do more risky stuff. I contemplated going with the Apple Silicone case, but even that is bulkier than I like to use on the already bulky 17 Pro.

I’ve ordered this one now, too, to compare with the Apple clear case (which I love but it accumulates dust really easily and it’s not easy to get off for cleaning purposes). How’s the fit of the Spigen? Is it easier to get off the phone than the Apple clear case?

Also: case makers putting a metal ring around the plateau this year baffle me. Had ordered a really pretty Benks magnetic case, but it has metal ring that sits right on the edge of the plateau…. A nope from me.

Fit is spot on perfect and a lot easier to remove than the apple clear case. The Spigen probably last the test of time with yellowing, but for $15 it’s a nice rotation case.

Has Caudabe gone any indication what late September means?
I am wanting to know this as well. I feel as though late September should be now through the 30th. I'm hoping to see tracking this week.

Regret not choosing this over the Suti (Clear version).

How is the lip around screen (with screen protector) and camera?

Also does the bottom have a lanyard spot? Can’t seem to get a proper confirmation of this.
Even with my spidgen glass there is still some lip. There is an extra hole next to the left speaker that’s not a mic hole. Not sure if it’s for a lanyard. Thieves will love these. Hard no for me.
Yea, November 30th ;)

I got the Mous Clarity on my Orange PM.
Similar to the D brand ghost but different texture around the side and a thick “plateau” protector rather than a clear cover.
Ended up with this just because it was easier to get hold of in the UK.

Nice! Can you say anything about quality? Read some comment saying it was bad quality. I am looking into getting this case for my 17PM in blue.

I picked up this Ringke Onyx to use until I found my case for the year and I’d never thought I’d say this about a phone but holy ish this thing is HEAVY. I’ve been using a 15PM the last two years and never once noticed the weight.

Hilarious because it says “lightweight” right there in the description. How does 35.9 grams compare to other cases?

The 15 was the lightest of the Pro Max models:

iPhone 14 Pro Max 240 grams
iPhone 15 Pro Max 221 grams
iPhone 16 Pro Max 227 grams
iPhone 17 Pro Max 233 grams
iPhone Air 165 grams

35 grams is not bad, roughly in line with the Apple Silicone and other minimal cases. For reference, the Caudabe Sheath and Paragon are up near 50 grams, Phone Rebel and other more protective cases are closer to 60. I think the difference you’re feeling is primarily the phone, not the case.
