Installed the tortas origarmor on my 17 pro and it went flawless. Perfect alignment and you can barely tell it’s there. Best screen protector install I’ve had after the nightmare of trying to find a good protector for the 16 pro

You may have a faulty screen. I've had this happen in the past where multiple screen protector fail in the same place and apple eventually replaced my phone and next one went on perfect.
Thanks. I did ponder that too. But I doubt they’d do anything right now so I’ll see what happens with the benks.

I went with the esr Corning and the install was very easy. Pleased with the results as well

But I have a question, previously for screen protectors with the black borders I know everyone checked the alignment of the borders with the camera apps white L corners

With iOS 26 there are no more L corners, is there some other trick folks are using to check if they’re losing any pixels to the black borders?

Passkey modal (e.g while signing in to your apple account on their desktop site with qr code) has 1 px of border around it in dark mode. My 15 Pro Torras screen protector blocks the border on the right edge. I had no problem with that, even though i'm an app designer :)

How’s the AR coating?

I have this one:

Perfectly aligned install and no air bubbles or dust! The coating is fine. I don’t notice a difference either way.

I got the Torres OrigArmor and using the tray to install it went well, everything looked good, no dust. But it installed it just slightly too high. Does anyone else have the same exact screen protector with that issue? I hate to order another one if it’s a manufacturing issue maybe because they didn’t have the actual phone yet

I got my new screen protector this morning and just put it on. I realize now that this was my fault. I fastened the tabs at the top but not the tabs at the bottom that would’ve pulled the screen protector down and lined it up perfectly. The second install went great.

Sorry for my ignorance, but I don’t fully get this new anti-reflective glass on the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

What does it actually mean? Does it stop me from just buying any normal screen protector?

How about this: https://a.co/d/2Dl000h ?

If I can’t just use that protector, what’s the best option right now — something that’s really scratch-resistant (military grade), feels almost invisible (like there’s no protector at all), and doesn’t interfere with Apple’s new anti-reflection feature?
Guys, what's the screen protector we should buy for the anti-reglective thing?

Pretty good I think, I took some pics of an iPhone air I happen to have without a screen protector and the 17 pro with - don’t really notice a strong difference

Here is the 17 pro with the ESR protector

The esr might have a slight color shift or diffuseness or something? They look very close to me. You be the judge!

Were you able to check the borders? Debating ESR Corning, Torras Origarmor or a Zagg from BB for convenience of replacement.

The OrigArmor that’s sitting on my 16PM had the best fit and coverage of all the protectors I tried over the past year. Glad to hear it’s carried over to the 17PM.

Has anybody noticed any scuffs/scratches on the aluminum from the install trays?

I haven’t been able to find a good test, I know someone suggested here doing a QR scan but haven’t had a chance.

What I tried is seeing what the keyboard looks like between phones. I suspect I’m losing some pixels with the ESR on the bottom but if it is it’s extremely minor

Overall I’m happy with the protector and the install

Does a store in the US (Seattle area) sell Spigen screenprotectors?
Picking up my iPhone 17 Pro this afternoon and flying back home (The Netherlands) tomorrow. I have screenprotector at home, but prefer to install it immediately after I get the phone out of the box today.

Go to Best Buy and pick up dbrand prism ..it’ll be your best option to buy something locally before you fly home

The ESR protector on the 17 Pro Max definitely has the black bezel overlap the display. Tested it with a photo I purposefully took to have something obvious on the very very edge and it's not visible with the ESR on until you tilt to see underneath the bezel and is visible on another iPhone without a bezelled protector on. So I would recommend to avoid that one.

Which one?

Anyone else annoyed by how wasteful these companies are? One ****ing screen protector (waaay overpriced $34) and look at all that crap/junk that comes with it.

Let’s put every freaking piece of cloth, sticker, wipe, manuals and other unnecessary crap in oversized box.

Meeeeh to tortas and the screen protector.
