Isn’t the size the same as last year?
Screen size is, perhaps the manufacturers were concerned the speaker cutout dimensions would change so they hedged their bets and didn't put any cutout? I have no insight, just thinking of possible reasons. Cost cutting is the likeliest answer I can come up with.

Maybe. Better to hedge on making it a bit larger.

I’ve been using ones with the speaker covered since my iPhone 14 Pro Max (upgrading every year) and absolutely love them. No impact whatsoever on sound, and prevents dust/lint from getting in the actual grill.

How does the sound "get out"

You getting a screen protector @iFone88 if yes which one?
Yeah have ordered these, may end up with Torras. They look pretty clean on the few videos they’re plugged on.

I want to benefit from the anti reflective display though so if screen protectors affect it, I may not bother

Same I’ve had absolutely no problems with that style of protector and I prefer it now for sure.

So I have the Torras that is designed that way. Can you tell me more about how they are designed so as not to impact the speaker? Having it used one Im not familiar

I've been using ESR Armorite for years and have always found it to be great. Easy install, cheap and reliable. ESR has recently released a new Corning Armorite. A bit more pricey ($25 instead of the usual $15) but I figured I would give it a try.

ESR Accessory Corning

It looks like some like the ESR are just flat all around in little speaker. The Torras and others have some kind of raised bump over the speaker. Not sure what that does exactly

Also considering trying this one https://a.co/d/9JL8uP5

Ultimately if flolabs ever released the 3D edge version I have on my 16pm for the 17pm I will buy that. That’s what I really wanted. Don’t understand why they didn’t have it ready. Same screen size and bezels.

I dont know the technical reasons why or how the covered speaker works, sorry! I’ve used both kinds and haven’t had issues with either.

Like you I am waiting for FloLabs 3D edge though, I emailed them about it because their website is extremely unclear and they said the protector I was asking about didn’t have a 3D edge (I specifically asked about the one time pro nanoarmour for the 17pm) and I asked if one might be coming but they totally glossed over that question and didn’t answer it. So I’m going with the Amazon option in the original post for now while I wait to see if FloLabs adds the 3D edge ‘upgraded’ option like they did for the 16pm last year. The fact that they didn’t have it ready to go for launch is odd, I feel like it’s a possible money grab to have people buy one now then buy another when the ‘upgrade’ comes in a couple months.

I also have a belkin screen protector left over from my 16pm that may or may not be the correct size for this years phone..

Which Amazon option? I have the Torras. Considering either the Benks or ultra glass as well

Here’s the million dollar question: Will 16 PM screen protectors work on the 17 PM?

Has someone a recommendation for a privacy screen protector with blue light filter?

I will also try a matte screen protector from Mothca. It's a glass protector with matte finish.

A little bit confused about the differences between the various options Torras offers for the 17PM... Which one should we pick?

Is the Torras OrigArmor linked in this thread case friendly? Amazon listing shows its edge to edge.

I’ve been caseless this last year but put one on when I’m doing anything outdoorsy just as a precaution.
