Scared to put this thing on my phone 😕

Everythingapplepro usually makes a video dropping the iPhone in a bunch of cases from 50ft to concrete so hopefully then we will see how it performs
Yeah we‘ll see if he returns for his annual throwing phones off a tower video. Not too hopeful, but you’ll never know.
I hope MobileReviewsEh has it in his lineup as well. He usually does but he’s testing not so common cases currently.

I’m always entertained by his drop tests, but I don’t know how useful they actually are. At that height, the luck of how each case lands appears to play a major role in the outcome.

but still 50ft is no joke and his rebel cases tend to do very well
Sure. It’s been a while since I dropped a phone 50’ though. A more meaningful test would be to drop at realistic heights, say 3,6, and 9 feet, in a controlled rig of some sort so that random chance is taken out of the equation. That said, it is fun watching all of those cases and phones being destroyed.

Yea but if it can survive a 50’ drop wouldn’t it survive a 3,6 and 9’ drop?

However IMO most drops are 6’ and under, could be wrong.

Regardless of drop height, comparing one case to another requires eliminating the random variables, which is not possible in the scenario we’re discussing (50’ drop from a tower).

Inevitably, every year you see reports of people using highly protective cases that still damage their phones from small drops of just a few feet. It seems the luck of the draw can play a significant role.

The Gen 7 with its floppy top might be a complete fail on the 50' drop test 😵

If it lands top down that seems pretty likely.

Both the Gen 6 and Mous passed last year, but there was some damage to the phone in the Flex. He sort of glosses over it, but you can see some dead pixels:

Not that any of this is meaningful in real life since we’re not dropping our phones from anywhere near 50’… lol. Makes for great phone case theater though! 😎

Surprised the Sheath did as well as it did considering it’s a hard’ish case.

Todays case haul.. ordered 12/7 and delivered to California an hour ago, 7 days.. pretty good

On the far left is my Pitaka case I ordered from Amazon. The other three came from AliExpress. The black "rimowa" look is crap and I'll bin it. (plastic and streaky) The other two are winners and the Pitaka look alike is pretty nice, solid fit and snaps tight. I do love Pitaka, but at 10X the price of the AliExpress case it is hard to justify.

Since I already have the "real deal" Pitaka. I currently have a listing for a couple of Air cases in MR marketplace. I'll add the Pitaka "clone" to that bundle to sweeten the deal. No need to double up
