Todays case haul.. ordered 12/7 and delivered to California an hour ago, 7 days.. pretty good

On the far left is my Pitaka case I ordered from Amazon. The other three came from AliExpress. The black "rimowa" look is crap and I'll bin it. (plastic and streaky) The other two are winners and the Pitaka look alike is pretty nice, solid fit and snaps tight. I do love Pitaka, but at 10X the price of the AliExpress case it is hard to justify.

Dbrand's customization options are appealing, but one would think it would be easier to order an extra $20 piece of vinyl with each base case, without having do a kludge on their site by ordering a second, then omitting the case.

This confuses me. Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but there's a button right under the add to cart button where you can just get the skins that fit the Grip case. No need to add a second case to your cart and then remove it to get a second skin.

It's poor UX, and inconsistent with how they handle other add-ons.

The first time I had the question, when playing around with various options, I actually had to do a search on how to order additional skins, which pointed to the the non-button button illustrated above.

Instead of being convoluted and kludgely, why didn't they simply make extra skins an add-on item, like the others listed on the page, and illustrated in the very same screenshot?

Granted, one doesn't need to add another case, but the non-button button to required to initiate a mode change to add the skin is not an example of good UI.

They could also list them on their own in the section with the other skins they offer, but don't.

But perhaps they're being too edgy to create a website that functions better.

Like Pitaka's rebranding, it shouldn't require a chart, or other extra steps to perform a simple action.

Rebel Gen 7 is here and i think its my new daily this thing feels so slim and nice in my hands its crazy

Dont notice the “loose top” in use at all as u are not gonna be tugging on it all day every other sides fit super snug

One downfall is the camera lip feels annoying when using in the hand as my fingers brush up on it quite abit and its not exactly super smooth (not sharp though)

Looks great; the PR fit is always so good.

I think the concern regarding the loose top is that it diminishes drop protection on those corners, which are more likely to pop off in a direct hit. Odds are that won’t be a thing, but the expectations are high for Rebel cases.

Nice, What plateau protector are you using?
I need to put my black camera ring and black logo back on, I got too much orange 🙄

I find the corners really hard to push off on mine though this thing really fits just as good as the old models

I’m annoyed by the loose top because no other rebel case has that issue and it’s something we haven’t seen on other rebel cases in the past. Sure you aren’t going to be pulling on it but it’s till an annoyance for me.

So I downgraded from my 17 pro max to the base 17.

Anyone using the base 17, and if so with what case? Currently in a ZAGG Sedona which is actually better than I thought it would be. Contemplating finally getting a paragon.
Why didn’t you downgrade to a Pro?

Here’s the Pitaka “Edge” in Lucid Blue (these name changes… lol). If you’re familiar with Pitaka Ultra-Slim cases, this is the same thing in a new color and weave pattern. The fit on this copy is very good, which has me feeling like I won the lottery since you never know with these full-aramid cases. The edges also feel slightly smoother, which has me wondering if Pitaka is making small changes to improve these. It’ll definitely have a place in my “around the home and office” case rotation.
