I’ve been thinking about this and looking at the Gen 7 Air to figure out why this might of happened. There’s an area at the right side of the plateau opposite the camera, that is barely protected. At the area indicated in the photo, there is only a very thin layer of TPU (~1mm) over the face and edges of the plateau, with no raised lip whatsoever. Almost every other case surrounds the entire plateau with a raised lip. With this case, only the camera is sufficiently protected—the remainder of the plateau is more exposed and less protected than any other part of the phone. This must be an oversight. They should have ran a lip all the way around the plateau similar to the Sheath (second pic). This flaw undermines the overall drop protection of this case in my opinion.

Time to order that Sheath 😉

I thought shipping was an issue for you?
Yeah, you’re absolutely right. I was very disappointed by the first Dbrand shipping because DPD somehow fumbled the order in the end and then I swore off ordering from abroad. I guess ordering again now around the holidays was not a smart decision either, but it already seems to be going much better this time around 😅 I guess we’ll see how this one goes!
I appreciate the thought though!

That’s a great observation. That lip around the plateau looks like it definitely can make a difference.

A search didn't return what I was looking for...

Pic of Midnight Paragon with Ember buttons?
Maybe same with the Blue Sheath? (Also ember buttons)

Both on Cosmic orange? 17Pro or PM works

I bought 4 cases from a member of this forum.

Black Apple silicone
Blue Apple silicone
(Both like new and they fit perfectly, of course)
One leather case of unknown provinance
A Belroy leather case I'm using now. And it's impressive. The fit is clean and tight, and the buttons are the best I've experienced. I'd have stuck with the Apple silicone but I was curious about the Belroy leather. Glad I gave it a try. I'm sure I'll switch back and forth but for now the Belroy is a real winner.

I have the blue iPhone 17 Pro Max as I really love the blue color despite most people like silver or orange 🙂

I added the celestial Blue Buttons and I love this combination. It still looks sleek. I also have the cobalt buttons but they stand out to much.

The quality of the pictures are not the best, but here you go:

That is one of the best case/colour combos I've seen in this entire thread.

Deep blue is hugely underrated.

i had a $20 discount at pitaka so i bought the moonrise ultra thin for the air seen in @Zensō beautiful shots. comparing it to the mous ultra thin, the pitaka wins without a fight. the pitaka provides more grip, the closed top looks better, i like how the bottom while being open it’s covered more with cutouts for the microphones leaving just the usb c port open, and on the back it’s slightly rounded around the camera surround making it look more premium. i mainly use black cases, i like the change to blue. my plan is to use this as my everyday case and use the tank for extra protection when needed. 🤔

Those that have the Air, what Pro features do you miss that you don’t have? Or is the Air good as your daily and why? How’s battery life with heavy usage?

The wide angle camera for macro shots of things. The pain of a half-pound weight accidentally dropping on my face in bed. The occasional need to pull up my shorts or sweat pants with a half-pound weight in my right pocket. Those are about the only pro features I can think of right now.
