Not sure about the consensus, but I like it. Good grip, surprisingly light, perfect fit, and I like how it looks. It’s been on my 17PM from day one and it won out over the TechWoven and a few others. YMMV…

Like Zenso said, it is light but protective. Buttons are perfect.
I also did not pay full price for the black version, even back then.
The case doesn’t make the Pro look FAT, it’s the FAT that makes it look so FAT. 😉
Does it have a tight fit on the sides?
It’s tight enough. The color of the phone shows all around the edge, but perfectly evenly, which I like.
It’s kept me from buying 4-5 others, so I guess in that sense it’s saved me money. 😆

Without a doubt the tank. Grip it too hard and it’ll break your wrist
So far my phone has survived three drops onto hardwood floor: one in the Sheath, one in the Mous Limitless and one in the Tank yesterday. I would also add the Bellroy Venture to the mix, but that might be a tad too heavy for you. I would definitely always choose a case with camera pleateau cover as the truly rugged option.
